• Location.
• Restaurant (Bar) not open enough hours.

“Great location, right by Blue Line station from O’Hare and two blocks from Union Station. Just across the river from the loop. Right across the Freeway from Greek Town. Kind of dead at night right where it is but that means it’s quite. Lobby is cramped and restaurant/bar not open enough hours but nice enough when it bothers to be open. Hassle-free wireless, excellent beds, clean, modern, even if unexceptional. Enthusiastic, helpful and numerous personnel at the front desk. Can’t beat it for a base of operations on a multi-modal trip.”

• Great Italian Restaurant, great take-out coffee, great staff--all were great.
• Bathroom is cramped.

“A great place to stay, only a short walk to the busline stops. The staff was most courteous, helpful, and kind. They responded to every concern immediately. CNN was the only channel with diagonal stripes, and the technician could not fix it. Bed was huge and comfortable.”

• Small rooms, bad location, too much money for the room, noisy being practically right on I290.

“Being that a friend and I were going for a 3 star hotel and the best price we could get, and they had us valet the first night for $30, I believe that it was overrated.”

• The staff was helpful and accommodating.
• All the flower pots outside contained dead dried up flowers.

“I am definitely coming back and bringing my family. You cant find great staff very often and the staff here was outstanding. The only complaint I had was when we got to the hotel all the outside flower pots were dead and died up and that caused me to be concerned about the quality of the inside of the hotel but luckily the outside did not represent the inside experience. It would have gave a great impression had there been colorful flowers around the building.”

• The suite we stayed in was very nice. It had 2 TVs and a microwave. Very spacious.
• Nothing.

“I enjoyed my stay. I think the kiosk that allowed patrons to find out about attractions, restaurants, and entertainment around the city was great. The convenience of a restaurant in the hotel was nice as well. The staff was very accommodating and friendly.”

“Staff friendly and helpful. Room standard, unremarkable, basic. Cleaning staff made a lot of noise in the hallways early in the morning. Didnt see any difference between rating this as 3-star.”

“This hotel is in a great location convenient to train lines but that's all it has going for it. There is pay parking adjacent to the hotel that is half the price of the valet parking but does not have in and out privileges.”

• Hard to control room temperature, parking expensive.

“We selected it because of its reasonably close proximity to Chinatown where we were visiting relatives. Room was clean and reasonably comfortable, except it was hard to get the room temperature right. Parking is $30 per night. Staff was excellent. Pizza restaurant is great except for the breakfast which is just ok.”

• The hotel staff were very friendly and very helpful to my needs.
• I liked everything about this hotel. I would stay at this hotel again if ever in Chicago.

“The location of the hotel was ideal for my business meeting. The hotel staff went beyond the call of duty to satisfied my needs. If I ever get a chance to come to Chicago again, I am definitely staying at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites.”

• The hospitality of the staff and their ability to assist the guests of the hotel.
• Hotel is dated and location has many vagrants and miscreants residing on the street corners after dark!

“While the hotel accommodations were moderate at best, the guest services staff was exceptional. The restaurant staff was slow and unresponsive to the few customers; the food was cold upon receipt. If you do not mind a brief walk, the hotel is conveniently located near Grant Park. As soon as the sun went down, we were harassed by many vagrants and miscreants. Overall, I would give a 1-1/2-2 star rating to the hotel.”

“Horrible price/value compared to other holiday, inns, Hampton inns, h I express or any other moderately priced hotels any ware else in the country but had to pay it this time only as we had to stay down town. Never again. They need to fix their internet.”

• There were no shades on the window and there was a very bright light outside. Hard to sleep.

“This was by far the worst hotel, accommodations and locality. The staff at the desk acted like I was bothering them to check in, never smiled, and only mentioned that this was a long day. I did not feel really safe once outside the hotel and the distance to downtown was a good hike.”

• Lots of street noise and older.

“Went to Chicago for an overnight stay so my 11 year old could go to American Girl Place. Hotel was convenient to Union Station and we got on the bus across from Sears tower, which we liked. On the way back, we got off the blue line only a block from the hotel. The location was perfect. Room was comfortable and clean. Had a great time.”

• My granddaughter really enjoyed the swimming pool on top of the hotel.
• Nothing really.

• The only thing that was nice about the hotel is the staff.
• The location was horrible; there was nothing in walking distance to eat or site see.

“The staff at the hotel was very friendly and accommodating. Besides the hospitality the hotel location was horrible. It was right off the highway, which was easy to find. But there was nothing close to walk to eat or sight sees to enjoy the downtown area. Also the wall paper was peeling in our room and the bathroom did not have a fan. The also did not work and the clock radio was very small.”

“It was almost on top of 2 very busy interstates and had poor to none at all sound insulation either from outside or between rooms. Small room with few amenities. On top of traffic noise, we were next to the hotel's maids hangout and had significant foul language till midnight and beginning at 5 a.m. What good is a motel room if you can't sleep! ”

• Too much traffic noise.

“The hotel staff is extremely friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. I stayed in an odd numbered room and had an extreme amount of traffic noise from the "l" and highway. Highly recommend you get an even numbered room. The restaurant is a pizza chain with a limited and very "heavy" menu.”
