• Efficient staff, decent location and a great price.
• No airport shuttle or downtown shuttle.

“This was well worth the price. I would have liked to have seen an airport and/or downtown shuttle. I did stop in the hotel restaurant, but I did not eat there. It had good looking food, but I didn't taste any.”

• Front desk staff was friendly and helpful with things I can do
  in the city and recommendations of restaurants.
• When
  I ordered room service, the lady who worked there did not know what my meal came with. I ordered an omelet and came without eggs.

“I was not familiar with the location and booked the wrong area. I was not happy as to where the location of my stay was at. When I arrived at the hotel, I just tried to make the best of the wrong situation. The staff (front desk) was very helpful and knowledgeable with the areas around Chicago. The only thing I did not like about the hotel was the location I was in.”

• Great rooms, great decor, friendly staff, super clean, great bed and furnishings.
• Simply the location. The guest services book stated there was a shuttle that went downtown and that was false! Disappointing.

“Luxurious rooms that make you feel pampered. Beautiful decor and furnishings. Super comfy bed and linens. Top notch restaurant and bar very inviting. Great outdoor seating area to read and relax. Quality equipment in the exercise room. Great valet service. Well done business room with internet service and printers. A remarkable hotel!”

• Customer service.

“The hotel and staff were very friendly and prompt. We had a problem with our toilet and they were quick to take care of it. The staff were very informative as to recommending resturants. And, it was nice they offered a shuttle to take you to and from within 1mi. of the hotel.”

• first morning housekeeping entered room without knocking and announcing self

“Nice modern hotel. Bed was comfortable and room was very clean. Had some electrical problems one night and TV was not available but was fixed when we awoke next morning. Restaurant was nice.”

“It was very clean and that is of utmost importance to me. The hotel was located in a nice area. I felt safe there. It was close to the heart of Chicago. It was smoke-free which I really appreciate. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. If I'm in Chicago in the future I will definitely try to book there again.”

“My husband and I were traveling with our young son, visiting my brother and the city of Chicago in general. We liked this hotel very much, even though it wasn't downtown. We got to explore a new area of the city around the hotel, and it was only two blocks from an el station, so we got around just fine. There were also cabs at all hours of the day, and we avoided all the bustling downtown traffic. I would stay here again, as our king-bed room was very clean and spacious.”

• Victoria was wonderful and helpful.
• A few other of the workers were nasty and rude.

“We used this hotel for guests and family of our wedding. It was very close to the venue where we got married. The shuttle took our guest everywhere they wanted to go that was within a certain distance. There were however some very nasty people working there as well. They were not helpful and rude. The lounging area was comfortable and we spent a lot of time visiting in the lobby, lounge area.”

• Newly renovated rooms and very friendly and helpful staff.
• The hotel was under renovation so noisy and messy in some areas and no fitness center.

“New rooms are beautiful and updated very nicely - very friendly staff and excellent location for making business calls in the Chicago area. Only issue was state of the hotel during renovation, not very inviting except the new rooms and somewhat noisy with workers renovating. Also, no fitness center.”

• The hotel was under construction.

“The hotel was under construction so it did not look inviting. I was looking forward to use of the workout room and due to construction it was not available. I had to pay $28 per day for valet parking that I never used. None of the vending machines worked and there were no stores near the hotel.”

• Nothing.
• The location and room itself were the worst we have experienced.

“The lobby is nice and then it stops. Rooms are like a Hampton Inn, nothing fancy. In face Hampton Inn is nicer. There were lines on wall where pictures had been removed. The valet parking was not correctly explained. The location is terrible. Trying to leave was most difficult. We will never return to this place.”

• Close to the freeway, but secluded, great little bar with very good food.
• Main entrance was a little difficult to find, but a small inconvenience.

“Excellent accommodations, good food, secure, close to the freeway for easy access, but also good secondary roads for getting downtown Chicago. We were going to The McCormick Place at 8 a.m. So we took the secondary roads and it was easy to get through traffic.”

“My complaint was the daily valet fees for parking, along with additional fees for internet, and breakfast. A free continental breakfast would have sufficed. Also, I would have liked better maps of the Chicago area, along with more brochures for first time travelers. These are minor complaints, though, the hotel was spectacular, and not too far from the cultured Chicago life. Service was always available and patient. Not too bad!”

• Staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful (plus, very easily allowed me more time to check out). Bus stop right by the hotel.
• Location (unsafe), cleaning staff was a little rude (knocked on the door twice to check me out, while I had requested more time from the front desk).

“Only reason I would never stay here again, it is too far from anything important in Chicago. Navy Pier, Magnificent Mile, Amc Theatres on Illinois. Just too far from everything spent too much on cab rides and shuttle is only offered for things about 1 mile and that's nowhere. No more for me ever.”

“I would recommend this motel to a friend. We were very close to the public transportation and being in the suburbs of Chicago, it was nice and quiet, different than staying downtown. It was very refreshing and we had a wonderful time.”

• Lovely room, very helpful and friendly staff.
• Way too far South, away from just about everything. However, close to the EL.

“A wonderful hotel, if location is not important to you. If you are at ease with taking the EL, it's a quick few blocks to the Pink or Blue lines. Those stations are clean and safe. Overall, my experience was way better than I'd expected, given that I did have to travel quite a distance to just about everywhere I wanted to go in Chicago. But it all worked out - the hotel was lovely and the staff was superb.”

I would not recommend it for anyone in Chicago for anything other than business, as it is very expensive to get to any of the normal tourist attractions - even a good restaurant. The bus & rail transportation is extremely difficult to understand, inconvenient and, in some cases, felt unsafe.”

“The staff was very friendly and the rooms and public areas were very clean. I was disappointed that the hotel didn't have microwaves in rooms, but I found none in either my double or king rooms. Traveling with young children a microwave and refrigerator are a virtual necessity in room.”
