  • The staff was helpful in helping us navigate the public transportation and shopping options. Very knowledgeable and helpful.
  • I cant think of anything. Parking was a little expensive.

“The overall stay was nice. It was in a convenient location. The staff helped us navigate which travel options would be most appropriate based on our destination (cabs, or el train). The provided maps and made it easy.”

  • When we arrived we were welcome and felt save and they were very helpful on telling us were to go and how to get around.
  • No pool.

“If I was to come to Chicago I would stay here again, the staff was very nice and very helpful and the drivers for the shuttle where very helpful and very nice. We all four felt very safe.”

  • The location and cleanliness.
  • The service at the bar/restaurant. Ordered appetizer and they didn't bring us one, forgot to use coupon, couldn't make drinks. Couldn't park own car.

“Made complaint to manager but no follow through. Restaurant didn't open when suppose to and bar forgot to use coupon. Most of staff was friendly and room was very clean and comfortable except a few stains on the carpet.”

“Overall stay was pleasant, front desk was not only friendly, but helpful with suggestions on restaurants and directions. Room was clean, but not up to the usual standards of a Marriott (ripped wallpaper, etc). Also, no pool.”

  • The free shuttle to restaurants was great.
  • Our room was not ready on arrival, we waited over 3 hours.

“Conveniently located to Rush and Greek-town and Little Italy. Do not miss the IUC pool/workout (but you will pay $15 entrance fee). Supposedly non-smoking, but not enforced. Heavy smell of cover-up deodorizers. Check-in times are more like a general target many excuses but no solutions. I will stay somewhere else next time.”

  • The people that worked there were so nice and made us feel welcome.
  • Everything else was bad.

  • The room was nice, and the receptionist and bell boys were very helpful.
  • We dined at the restaurant inside the hotel and our waitress was very rude.

“Overall I enjoyed the stay at this hotel, it was not in a very central part of the city, but the cab ride was short and the workers were very helpful in assisting us in getting a cab. I would recommend this hotel to a friend.”

  • Loss of power, leaking tub faucet, rusty shower bottom.

“$26.00 a day for parking was absurd. Smoke detector batteries went dead, leaking faucet in tub rusty drain area in tub, no hot tub or pool. Lost power last day cold shower clocks not working limited lighting, bad experience.”

  • Very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful clean rooms, comfortable beds with down comforters and loads of awesome pillows.
  • Nothing, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

“The valet service was excellent (friendly, courteous young man), desk receptionists were equally friendly and very helpful, and the rooms were beyond my expectations. The great service we received during our stay made it very apparent that the staff at the Marriott UIC Medical District cares about its customers.”

“When we checked in for our romantic weekend, the desk staff made it clear to us that there were no king bed rooms left and that they only had rooms with two smaller beds. The staff made no attempt to rectify / compensate us for the situation despite the mention that it was a romantic weekend Downtown for my wife and me.”

“The charge for parking at this hotel was $28 per night, valet only. The lot where they parked the cars was attached to the hotel in a regular parking lot, not in a garage or in any way gated or protected from the public. The location of the hotel was not at all convenient to the magnificent mile or the lake area. The hotel was not attractive and lacked extra amenities at all.”

“The hotel is nice overall. It is in a very convenient location and the staff is very friendly. Be aware that you will have to pay an additional twenty six dollars a day for overnight parking. Additionally be aware of using a debit card at this location because you will be automatically charged 40.00 per day for incidentals. Can become very costly.”

“I would stay in this hotel again. It was close to major transportation which Souls put you in the heart of the city, and it was also close to many quaint little shops and retailers that assisted me while I was there. The hotel had quaint amenities that I found to be superb.”

  • Very noisy room refrigerator and noise from neighboring rooms kept me up all night.

“Great location if you need to be near any of the medical centers, very friendly staff, clean, uncomfortable mattress, noisy neighbors, noisy mini fridge in the room. No complementary shuttle from the airport. But hotel shuttle does take you around locally within 1 5 mile radius very nice, helpful driver.”

  • The parking attendant tried to make a deal with us on parking fees by giving him the keys personally.

“This hotel was in nice condition. The bar/restaurant was very nice. The neighborhood is very questionable. I would stay here again on business but won't bring my wife to this hotel again. This was for our anniversary getaway.”

  • The hotel had no flaws - perfect stay.

“Upon arriving in Chicago, I came down with the flu and needed early check-in. The young woman at the front desk was very accommodating, allowing me into my room two hours early. When I was well enough to enjoy the rest of my stay, I found the restaurant's breakfast buffet reasonably priced for the high quality of offerings. Our waiter went the extra mile and was very attentive and warm. Ignore the bad reviews - this was a superb hotel with exceptional staff. I would definitely return here again and again.”

  • The whole place being non smoking and the distance from Downtown.

  • The hotel was very comfortable. Very nice and very clean.
  • It was not close to anything. There were no restraints close by and no shops.

  • We were celebrating our 30th anniversary and the staff sent up a bottle of champagne on the house what a special touch. Late checkout, no problem.
  • We can't say anything we didn't like.

“Outside of the city busyness. We walked to little Italy and Greek town. Millennium park was a long walk but we did walk. Everything was very clean. The staff was very kind and helpful, recommending restaurants in the area. Would stay her again.”

  • Not much of a "lobby" around a corner (hidden).

  • Easy to get to train station and go into the city.
  • Parking was ridiculously expensive.

“Looks small from the outside, but lobby and rooms are very spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable. Hotel is located in a safe neighborhood across from a hospital and it is very easy to catch public transportation (train) if going out downtown. Marriott charges a lot for parking and internet.”

  • Clean & neat. Nice room liked the tiny fridge and microwave.
  • Too far from activities, hard to get a cab, far from trains. Staff not very helpful.

“The room was a nice size, attractive and clean. We were happy to find a mini-refrigerator, microwave and small sink in the room. The hotel is in a nice neighborhood, but we were pretty far from shopping, theatre and restaurants. The hotel offers a shuttle service, but only for a mile or two radiuses. The shuttle service is not very dependable. We waited over 40 minutes for a pick-up and ended up taking a cab. The hotel is off the beaten path, so no trains, the bus routes were long and the bellmen couldn't always get us a cab. We found we had better luck going out on the street and hailing our own. We ended up spending a lot more money on cabs than we normally do, which balanced out the extra money we would have paid for a hotel downtown.”
