- Fresh decor, clean.
- A bit noisy.
“One of the better stays that I've had -- my room was quite spacious (I think it may have been a larger studio room) and tastefully decorated, while the king bed was quite comfortable. Walls are a bit thin and street-facing rooms will incur some traffic noise, though. The location is top-notch if conducting business in the Medical District; if not, the hotel is near the vestiges of Little Italy and convenient to public transport to downtown.”

- The service was great.
- Our bed was an uncomfortable pull-out sofa bed.
“Because we arrived late and the hotel had already filled all it rooms, they upgraded us to a suite that was intended for meetings, not sleeping. So our bed was a very uncomfortable pull-out sofa bed. When I called the front desk they were very apologetic, and brought in another bed for us - one of those twin roller beds. They also treated us to a very nice breakfast in the morning to make up for the uncomfortable bed. So while the bed situation was not good, the service and courtesy of the hotel workers was very good.”

- Lobby area was nice; valet parking was friendly and efficient.
- Bathroom was dirty, room door leaked all lights and noises from the hall.
“This location is fairly convenient for UIC purposes. The room was very noisy, every passerby sounded like they were in the room. Doors closing down the hallway could easily be heard over the television. The showerhead is loose inside the wall; it can be heard and felt rattling when changing spray patterns. Showerhead leaks water in all directions, and the bubbled paint on the shower's ceiling indicates it has been like that for a long time.”

- It was clean.
- It was way outside of Chicago; they made it sound easier to get to down town than it actually was.
“If you have business at Rush Memorial Center, this is a good hotel for you. Otherwise, it is far from anything of interest. The trains to get into the loop are great, but you have to walk a ways to get them and how safe is it to travel at night? As a woman alone, I did not feel it was a good option. I spent a lot of money on taxis. The hotel is just basic. Nothing really to enjoy. The concierge did not know much and gave me the wrong bus line to take, but she was very pleasant. If you want to enjoy Chicago, don't stay at this hotel. If you want something efficient and near the University of Illinois, it is fine.”

- I liked its proximity to the CTA blue line.
“It was a nice hotel that is particularly close to the Medical District and the University of Illinois-Chicago. If you need to have immediate access to Downtown, it is not the easiest (blue line is 2 blocks away). The neighborhood can be a bit intimidating at night.”

- The friendly, courteous staff & convenient shuttle service.
- Parking costs.
“Our family stayed in this hotel for a trip to Chicago. It was conveniently located near the Pink Line CTA so we parked and walked to the train to take it downtown. If you don't mind crossing a busy street you can save more than half the cost of parking by parking at the hospital across the street was struck by the courteous staff and the availability of a free shuttle service to and from anywhere within 1 mile of the hotel. I'd stay here again any day.”

- The staff and service was excellent. The shuttle was also a big plus.
- Liked pretty much everything. Hotel food was pricey but was really good. Fair trade I guess.
“We were greeted and taken care of extremely well by all the staff. The staff was very friendly and made sure that our stay was enjoyable. The hotel was upscale and in a great location just off the subway and the shuttle takes you within a mile including Greek Town and Little Italy.”

“Bad location if youre in town to sight sees. You will need to take plenty of cab fare or be willing to ride a smelly bus to get wherever you want to go. Nothing is within reasonable walking distance. And because of that, the restaurant and bar gouge you with high prices.”

- When we arrived we were welcome and felt save and they were very helpful on telling us were to go and how to get around.
- No pool.

- The service at the bar/restaurant. Ordered appetizer and they didn't bring us one, forgot to use coupon, couldn't make drinks. Couldn't park own car.

- The free shuttle to restaurants was great.
- Our room was not ready on arrival, we waited over 3 hours.
“Conveniently located to Rush and Greek-town and Little Italy. Do not miss the IUC pool/workout (but you will pay $15 entrance fee). Supposedly non-smoking, but not enforced. Heavy smell of cover-up deodorizers. Check-in times are more like a general target many excuses but no solutions. I will stay somewhere else next time.”

- The room was nice, and the receptionist and bell boys were very helpful.
- We dined at the restaurant inside the hotel and our waitress was very rude.
“Overall I enjoyed the stay at this hotel, it was not in a very central part of the city, but the cab ride was short and the workers were very helpful in assisting us in getting a cab. I would recommend this hotel to a friend.”

- Loss of power, leaking tub faucet, rusty shower bottom.
“$26.00 a day for parking was absurd. Smoke detector batteries went dead, leaking faucet in tub rusty drain area in tub, no hot tub or pool. Lost power last day cold shower clocks not working limited lighting, bad experience.”

- Very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful clean rooms, comfortable beds with down comforters and loads of awesome pillows.
- Nothing, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

“When we checked in for our romantic weekend, the desk staff made it clear to us that there were no king bed rooms left and that they only had rooms with two smaller beds. The staff made no attempt to rectify / compensate us for the situation despite the mention that it was a romantic weekend Downtown for my wife and me.”

“The charge for parking at this hotel was $28 per night, valet only. The lot where they parked the cars was attached to the hotel in a regular parking lot, not in a garage or in any way gated or protected from the public. The location of the hotel was not at all convenient to the magnificent mile or the lake area. The hotel was not attractive and lacked extra amenities at all.”

Additionally be aware of using a debit card at this location because you will be automatically charged 40.00 per day for incidentals. Can become very costly.”

“Easy access to Downtown via public transportation. It was clean and nice. Friendly staff. I did not expect to pay for parking this far west of Downtown it was 26.00 for 24hrs with unlimited in and out. Transportation.”

- Staff was friendly and helpful and rooms were clean.
- Too far from Downtown.

- It was close to the attractions we wanted to see.
- The parking attendant tried to make a deal with us on parking fees by giving him the keys personally.
“This hotel was in nice condition. The bar/restaurant was very nice. The neighborhood is very questionable. I would stay here again on business but won't bring my wife to this hotel again. This was for our anniversary getaway.”

- Extremely helpful accommodating staff.
- The hotel had no flaws - perfect stay.
“Upon arriving in Chicago, I came down with the flu and needed early check-in. The young woman at the front desk was very accommodating, allowing me into my room two hours early. When I was well enough to enjoy the rest of my stay, I found the restaurant's breakfast buffet reasonably priced for the high quality of offerings. Our waiter went the extra mile and was very attentive and warm. Ignore the bad reviews - this was a superb hotel with exceptional staff. I would definitely return here again and again.”

- The free shuttle service within a 1 mile radius.
- They didn't tell me they charged for parking upon my arrival and I was charged 28 dollars to park.

- Location near public transportation and our meeting.
- No pool for the kids.

- Solid hotel in the medical district but a very convenient shuttle within 1 mile radius.
“You'll need to take a cab or shuttle to any attractions as it's in the middle of the medical district, but much cheaper than a hotel in downtown. Only a few miles away.”
