• Nothing. It was excellent value for the price point.

• Very small rooms, poor business services.

“Not up to Marriott standards. Very small rooms. Layout requires long walks to and from room to lobby/restaurant area. Convenient to O'Hare and CTA to downtown. Shuttle driver came and left without notice, even though I told bellman I needed to go to airport, causing me to be late for check-in.”

• Excellent staff, clean and well kept.
• Room small based on prior stays @ 3 star hotels.

“The staff were very friendly, check-in was quick, upon arrival I was informed of the parking fee; had hoped for shuttle service to the Donald Stephens convention center but it was not available. The location was good for airport travelers, but not convenient for my trip. When I return next year for the International Quilt Expo, I will not choose, nor recommend, this hotel.”

• Very comfortable spacious bed, quality toiletries supplied i.e. shampoo and conditioner, comfortable chair in room.
• Atmosphere and appearance of sports bar was not pleasing, location was not ideal for Chicago weekend tourist.

“Although the train station was right across the parking lot it was a 35 minute ride to Downtown Chicago. The outside of the hotel was somewhat dingy but the rooms are pleasant with very comfy beds. The fitness room was nice with treadmills, elliptical machines, stationary bikes, medicine balls, free weights and weight machines. The sports bar in the hotel was not pleasant to sit in due to a dank appearance but provided quality burgers and chicken sandwiches.”

• The bed was so comfortable.
• They told me they were only going to hold $60 on my account and held $200 for 5 days.

“It was comfortable and gorgeous inside, but I was told they were only going to hold $60 on my credit card while we were there, and they held $200 for 5 days. Not cool. Other than that, the hotel was great, very helpful. Ask the front desk for the little cards that tell you exactly how to get to many of the attractions downtown.”

“The hotel was very nice for the price. The staff was very friendly and did an excellent job. I would stay here again, only if I had no plans to visit downtown Chicago. The train was an inexpensive way to get around, but no late night service for a return trip. Taxi fares were about $40 each way.”

• Very helpful staff. Extremely convenient location. Nice clean rooms.
• The 20$ a day for parking which should be provided for its guests and was not.

“I have traveled extensively and I am accustomed to the parking being provided since I am paying for the hotel. It is amazing how a truly amazing experience at a hotel can be overshadowed by something as small as 40$ worth of additional fees they stick to their guests. When describing my stay to friends or associates, now I mention the measly $40 they stuck me with in lieu of all their efforts to make that an unbelievable experience. They are much better off increasing their room charges and including parking. I would have stayed there anyway and focused on the positives after the trip.”

“The hotel is conveniently located between OHare airport and the downtown Chicago area (approx. 12 miles from downtown Michigan avenue). Easy on/off access to I 90. Friendly staff and excellent facilities located in a well maintained neighborhood.”

• We found an empty wine bottle under the mattress.

“It was a very nice hotel, nicely decorated. The staff greeted us and was friendly & helpful. The beds were very comfortable and the pools looked very clean. We didn't get a chance to swim though. A free continental breakfast would've been nice, but wasn't available.”

• The staff was friendly and able to give excellent directions were ever desired.
• Room was not cleaned on final day.

“The hotel did not seem to be a 3 star hotel; the staff was friendly and willing to accommodate mostly. The television in our room had constant static and needed to be updated. The room did seem fairly clean, however could use a deep cleaning of the bathroom floor. When using the internet even if it's only one day with your lap top, the system continues to charge you although you may have only used the internet for a portion of your stay. Not such a bad commute to downtown.”

• I liked the outdoor pool/common area. Love the convenience/proximity to the interstate.
• The bed needed a new mattress- it seemed to slump in the middle.

“I've stayed at other hotels in the area several times but never really noticed this particular Marriott. However, I was pleasantly surprised. While the hotel could use some modernizing, it was comfortable and a good value.”

• Hotel at registration was friendly and also the engineering staff who came to fix the bath door.
• $20 per day/overnight parking fee is too much and also bell boy and valet parking staff was too pushy and wants us to eat the hotels restaurant.

“This hotel in general was okay but no way 3 star hotel. $20 overnight parking fee per day is ridiculous as this hotel is in suburb and not in a city and have a huge parking lot. Also, it seems that some staff has been instructed by management to keep asking the guests to eat dinner at their restaurant. Also, the room assigned to us has a broken bath room door which gets stuck every time you open or close it but next day on our request and after their engineer examines it they moved us to a different room.”

“The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows. The bathroom was small, but the complimentary toiletries were upscale, and the shower was perfect. There weren't very many television channels, and I didn't like the fact that internet was $12.95 rather than free like most hotels. There was a beer bottle on my balcony which had been left by a previous guest, and the room could have been cleaned better, but otherwise, it was a very good value.”

• Entire staff was friendly and competent. Workout facilities were the best I've experienced.
• Did not like to have to pay for parking.

“I was entirely impressed with how attentive, friendly, courteous and competent the entire staff was throughout our visit. We were always treated with respect and it seemed like it was a goal of the entire staff to make our stay enjoyable. And the workout facilities were the best I've ever experienced! I'd like to stay there longer.”

• The staff was the friendliest staff of any hotel Ive stayed in. Mike the bellman was great...
• Our room was over 1000 ft. From the lobby. I'm a senior with a knee problem.

• Very friendly and helpful staff, great workout facility and beautiful indoor/outdoor pool.
• Location worked well as it was close to the airport and cat; however the train ride was 40-45 minutes each way into the city.

“Next time we'll probably stay downtown, but for our first trip to Chicago this was perfect. Riding the train in and out of the city each day may have taken a bit longer than we would have liked, but it offered age react way to see other parts of Chicago. The hotel was clean, had comfortable rooms and friendly staff. I would recommend it especially to business travelers.”

• All the staff, from the driver of the shuttle to the concierge to the hostess was friendly and helpful.
• The walls between the rooms were thin and noise carried very easily.

“The shuttle was convenient, the food in the harvest restaurant was excellent - there was also a sport bar where you could get burgers and such if you wanted something less fancy/pricey. The gift shop had incidentals such as toothpaste - and the staff seemed very friendly and helpful. The bedding was nice and new - they had those fluffy comforters and nice pillows. There were flight attendants and pilots staying while I was there which seemed like a good sign - overall it was a very pleasant stay.”

• 100 yards from the El Train Station.
• I wanted to be down in the Loop area, but could not afford it.

“The Marriott O'Hare is a good alternative for business travelers when Chicago Loop/Downtown hotels become overbooked. It is a comfortable business hotel with both onsite and local restaurants. The Marriott O'Hare is also a 100 yard walk to the El Train station. The commute to Loop/Downtown is inexpensive and less than an hour.”

“I was disappointed in the hotel. First of all the internet site stated the room was to have a refrigerator and a VCR, neither was in the room. My husband and I planned to keep food in the refrigerator for breakfast to eat before a 1/2 marathon we were attending. So we had to ice it all weekend. Hard to find something opened at 5 in the morning to eat at. The gift shop was pricey for snacks. I still can't believe we had to pay extra for parking. I have never been at a hotel were they make you pay for your car. We will not be staying at this hotel again. I rather pay more for the room and get more for your dollar, like breakfast in the morning with free parking.”

• Cleanliness! There was pubic hair on the bathroom floor, that I had to ask twice to get cleaned up.

“Okay location. Had problem with cleanliness. The hotel room seemed okay until I went in to the bathroom and there was pubic hair on the bathroom floor. It took asking two times to get it cleaned up. They were very nice about it, but nice didn't mean competent. They then screwed up twice on my bill. They offered to give me a free breakfast, but then charged me for it - in fact, they overcharged me for it. The hotel was supposed to be rated a 3.5+ star. I would rate it, if the room was clean, at a 2.5. With the dirty room, I'd give it a 1.”

• Location close to 'el' stop - within walking distance.
• Paying for parking - a rip, the 'only' thing that was unpleasant.

“We were very pleased with this hotel. the location was excellent - service was excellent. the rooms were very nice. we felt very comfortable in this hotel and were very pleased with it. it has a really cool pool that goes both inside and outside (so not sure about the winter months...?) the kids were in love with it.”

• There is an "L" stop in walking distance.
• High-speed internet is $12.95 a day!!!

“This hotel is close to highways and has an "L" stop in walking distance. Few restaurants in the area. Front desk staff is adequate but the managers are good and available. Room care was good but there are not enough electric outlets in the room and you have to pay for internet and parking.”

• Great pools. Most employees very friendly.
• Rooms were poorly kept.

“Bellhop, chauffeur, and room service were all very nice and helpful. Woman who checked us in was quite rude, however. Carpet in our room was dirty and previous people's items were still in the room. The pools were great though. The kids really loved them. Right next to airport and train system, which is both good and bad.”

• Bathroom was a bit tired, could use a redo.

“Still a Marriott, but the bathroom seemed to need a makeover. Tub had rust around drain, and a few of the Marriott standards were missing. Staff was courteous, food was good. I thought that $20 for parking in the suburbs was a bit on the high side. Would have stayed in town, but there was no room in the inn, so I had to stay out in the hinterlands.”

• Easy access to the trains.
• 20/day for parking is ridiculous, park at the park'ride garage next door for 12.

“Great hotel, helpful & competent staff. The pool & Jacuzzi are better than advertised. Right next to the trains, expect a 30 min ride to the downtown area. Rooms are a bit compact, but its a great deal is you're only really going to use the rooms as a place to sleep.”
