• Showers could have been 5 degrees hotter. The computes could have been free.

• The pool temperature was 100% perfect, just right. As was the Jacuzzi! I wish all hotels would set their pools at that temp.

“I have stayed at this hotel for three years for an annual trip my family makes. The bedding and facilities are updated and very clean. The location to the expressway is very good but the building construction still allows for a quiet room.”

• The room was excellent, with a very nice bed.
• There are no free extras like breakfast or internet.

“The room was comfortable and well laid out with a sitting room separate from the bedroom. The hotel restaurant/room service is far too expensive, but many local restaurants are nearby.”

• Very comfortable bed. Room was quiet.
• Entrance was unimpressive and somewhat difficult to detect. Front desk is remote from parking area.

“We did not use dining area but it was not inviting. Room was comfortable, quiet and clean. The entrance from parking is unusual and not very clear in evening (dark). I would return to this hotel.”

• The hotel is in a good location to highland park and we enjoyed the experience of a different hotel.
• The wait staff was not so friendly or helpful and we needed to say good morning first.

“We enjoyed our stay and will most likely stay there again as we were born and raised in highland park and visit often. The desk help should practice saying good morning and pay attention to all guests and treat all guests with utmost appreciation.”

• I liked the service very much. The room was very fun and different.
• The room service was too expensive.

“My husband and I were very pleased with this hotel. We especially loved the service. Everyone was very friendly. My husband enjoyed the set up of the room and the modern look. Our weekend was very nice and we would be very happy to stay there again.”

• Easy to find and access.
• Breakfast prices expensive.

“Clean, upscale hotel with good sized rooms. Furniture in sitting area a bit worn and HVAC system somewhat noisy. Comfortable bed and shower has good pressure. Toiletries were a problem; fragrance very strong and caused headaches. Had to purchase own soap even to wash hands. Overall experience good.”

• Clean modern.
• The layout of the hotel was awful. You had to walk around a U shape to get to the elevator.

• The employees were extremely polite, friendly and responsive to my families needs. The parking was also very convenient.
• The bedroom area was not closed off to the sitting area.

• Pillows too thick and no breakfast.

“We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It did not list a pool as an amenity online, but when we arrived the kids were so excited about the pool and hot tub. The room was very large with a sitting and desk area separated from the bedroom. It was nice to have a pull out so the kids didn't have to sleep together. Also, the location was great right on 94, since we were headed downtown Chicago the next morning. We will stay here again. It was quite an upscale hotel for the price we paid.”

“Remodel sign in lobby said "pardon the inconvenience, construction in progress" but did not see anything that looked out of place. Hotel appeared friendly, clean and hospitable, enjoyed the rate, the room and the stay.”

“The quality of this hotel stunned me from the moment I entered. The room suites were wonderful and the small touches, such as the quality of the soap, shampoo, body lotion etc, was superb. I felt surrounded by luxury in every way, no matter where I turned. I just hope that this honest review isn't going to make it more expensive for me to stay there again next time.”

• Conveniently located.
• Staff was unable to control rowdy behavior of large group of "Mississippi Irish Travelers" despite using Deerfield Police help.

“Nice lobby (which was being re carpeted on September 3) and bar; rooms have what you'd expect plus refrigerators and decent radio with iPod dock.”

• Lobby a bit messy due to renovations.

“Excellent as always. I stay here every so often and am always pleased with the room decor, the staff, the views, etc. Everything as I would expect from a Hyatt. The lobby was bit unsightly due to the renovations (as of 9/4/07), but I expect this will be a very quick process and may already be complete by the time this review is posted.”

“Very, very good. I've stayed at this Hyatt several times, and it is everything I would expect from a Hyatt in terms of excellence in staff, cleanliness, room style and furnishings, etc. A very good deal for the money.”

• Not all rooms have a nice view.

“Great experience, everything I would expect from a Hyatt. Room is not all that large, but is very well set-up with maximized use of space; so in essence the room seems bigger than it really is. Great staff, wonderful beds. Nice sitting area with sofa and lounge chair without woman. Seems like a small suite in that respect. Very good value.”

• The location of our room was easily accessible.
• The door to our room had a 2" opening at the bottom and the late night noise and light came through at night.

“Our air conditioning didn't work in the room the 1st night. Second day they came to fix it, but it still didn't work when we returned to our room. After talking to guest services we were moved to a different room for the second 2 night stay. Was pretty good after we moved rooms. Rooms were not very sound proof, not so good when you have little kids.”

• Nice rooms with comfortable beds. Great workout room.
• Terrible food at Jaxx Bistro, most jets in the spa did not work. A lot of walking-not good for the disabled.

“Nice rooms, comfortable beds. Staff was friendly. I would definitely stay here again but would definitely order out instead of eating at the hotel restaurant-terrible food that was very over priced! The workout room was great; however, the spa barely had any working jets (a bit disappointing at a Hyatt).”

• Comfort and location.
• Bathroom very small for more than 1 person. Service did not give us clean glasses unless we asked. They just left the dirty ones as-is.

“One of the staff members, when I asked why our dirty glasses had not been changed for two nights. I've never been in a hotel where they don't provide clean glasses every day!”

“While the location of this hotel and its original design are/were quite nice, the current management does not appear to maintain it at a 3-star rating. It is a clean, attractive, well-laid-out hotel with a lovely lobby area, comfortable beds, and conveniently designed rooms. Staff appears to be friendly, warm, and helpful. In-room thermostats are a plus. The pool and spa area are clean, warm, and well maintained. However, the shabby, beat-up appearance of the room doors as seen from the hallways and the thin and inelegant towels and paper goods detract from this hotel appearing exclusive or swanky.”

• The room was well-sized and very stylish. The gym was well-appointed.
• Really nothing.

“The location is very convenient for all northwest suburbs, with ample nearby shopping, freeways, and the Metro train. The front-desk and door staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very nicely furnished, with contemporary yet cozy style; the bathroom was quite nice with all standard amenities. The level of cleanliness was prefect. We loved the comfy, large bed with a variety of pillows. The on-site gym had a good number of cardio machines, though only three types; there was no other equipment per se, but lots of weights, resistance bands, etc to provide a very good workout. Have already recommended to friends and look forward to returning.”
