• Water pressure.
• No breakfast./

“Great! I felt staff would have gone to great lengths to make my stay better. Room was clean and well presented. Water pressure was above par, and from a shower head tall enough to make me (6'4") happy. Lack of other real amenities such as a pool, or breakfast. I would choose to stay here again when in town over taking a chance somewhere else. It was pretty darn good, esp for the money.”

“We rented 5 rooms. Out of the 5 all smelled of smoke. One had standing water under the air conditioner. No way can one room sleep two of all but the thinnest couple.”

• I like the location. It is not in a noisy place and the environment is clean.
• I did like that I had a smoking room first but I talked to the attendant and was given a smoke free room. It turned out good, very happy.

• The staff was exceptionally nice. They were helpful and understanding!
• To get to the hotel off of Rt. 41 you have to take a wrong exit and do a U-turn.

“This stay was very enjoyable, thanks to the courteous and friendly staff at Crosland Chicago. Even though they were booked completely full, they gave us all the attention we needed. They brought towels to the room, and even hunted down an iron for me. They were also extremely helpful when we asked questions pertaining to the area we were in. They called a cab for us, and later while we were in the cab, we heard the hotel staff radio the driver to make sure he had picked us up. Also, I called the hotel several times in the weeks before our visit, and they were courteous on the phone as well.”

• Found personnel at front desk to be courteous and very helpful and friendly. Having kitchenette was the best for my purpose of stay. Would go back.
• Stairwells could use renovating. Room had been cleaned/was supposedly non-smoking, prior guest smoking in room smell lingered.

• It has a refrigerator and microwave.
• They really need to improve on housekeeping for the rooms, attention to detail is not there.

“I like the price and location. The room I stayed in had a peach pitt in the corner by the front door, I left it where it was. Later in the week I stayed in the same room and the peach pit was still in the corner three days later!”

• Hot, roomy showers!
• The twin bed, just not very big.

“This is the third time I've stayed at the hotel in as many months. As I've said, it's great for the solo business traveler. It would be tough to be there more than a few nights for me, but I need a lot of room if I'm staying more than a couple of nights. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are a solo business traveler in need of inexpensive accommodation. Bring your own hair dryer and most toiletries.”

“The outside looks nice but the room was filthy! I wouldn't put my 8mn old down on the floor and my 10yr old wouldn't sit on the bed. It looked like roaches were coming out of the cabinets and there was no shower head! The worst part is the front desk lady went in to check it and said it was clean! My version of clean is completely different than theirs. Oh and there was a graduating sailor that died there at a party the same weekend we were to stay there.”

• Staff does everything it can to help the guests.
• Some rooms smell of cigarette smoke.

“Tucked away, nice and quiet. Very close to major highway intersections, easy access to Wal-Mart, Starbucks, Chili's, Denny's, nice beaches very close by, 6 Flags Great America, Gurnee Mills Outlet Mall, very clean neighborhood, wireless internet, laundry & vending facility, stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, iron & ironing board in the rooms. And the list goes on, if you want a nice inexpensive room with access to great shopping, restaurants, beaches and Theme park, then this is good.”

“This is a hotel that has everything you need--it's just not very fancy or frilly, and not much "atmosphere". There are adequate towels in the restroom. There was a coffeemaker. The bed I was a queen size. It was comfortable.”

• The location was fantastic.
• There was little or no hot water the entire trip.

“This hotel was good for a 1 or 2 night stay. The little kitchenette was very useful. However, we didn't have hot water the entire trip and the shower flooded the bathroom. It was perfectly situated by where we were going. The hotel was worth the price.”

• The friendly desk clerk who made sure that I was up at 4 a.m. They improved the type of shampoo and soaps in the bathrooms. And the shower is a dream.
• No built-in hair dryers.

“I always stay at this hotel when I have to work a night to early morning shift at my radio station. It's convenient, close to the station, It's nothing fancy, and I wouldn't suggest staying there if you want a romantic rendezvous with your sweetheart. However, for a one-star, overnight stay that's just you and the need for a Queen-sized bed and some coffee in the morning, it's fine.”

• This had to be the most friendly and accommodating hotel I have ever stayed in!
• Could be a tad updated and cleaner but the service outweighed the bad.

“I was a little disappointed with the overall quality a tad old looking but the service of the staff was phenomenal! The front desk girls were awesome and the hotel was very catering! The manager was awesome! I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the area! Truly exceeded my expectations!”

• I liked the kitchenette in the room.
• The beds were hard and there wasn't any mirrors any where except the bathroom.

“The decor could use to be updated, and more mirrors added and bigger TVs would be nice. Over all I had a good experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful.”

• The mattress was not connected to the frame. When I sat at the edge the bed went into the air.

• You need to change the 2 to a room and offer more options desperately.

“Like I said the hotel was fine but I could not fit 2 adults and two kids. You need to make more options so that a family doesnt have to take 1 bed. You will get so much more business if you do. Your current setup really isnt good for families. I cant believe you havent addressed this.”

• It had a little kitchen.
• There is nothing close by no restaurants nothing to buy food, so you got a kitchen but nowhere to shop go figure.

• Easy to find off of the highway and convenient to Great America.
• A double room is small for 2 people. Would have liked a 24-hour front desk.

“Nice to have a refrigerator, microwave, stove and dishes. No hair dryer or shampoo provided. Just soap. That's OK for a 1-star but I should have paid better attention. It was a bit uncomfortable to be there for just a couple nights while others obviously lived there for extended periods of time. Some younger people horsing around a bit.”

• It was a flop house! The door latch was broken. The bed squeaked. Unsatisfactory!

“I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy! The picture of the room was very misleading! Go to this hotel and see for yourself. Getting to the hotel was a real experience! Had to go about 2 miles past it and come back to it.”

• This place is dump!

“The bath towel (one provided) is 20x30. The TV is 19". The bed was a full size. The room is the size of a small storage unit. This is singularly the worst room Ive ever stayed in ever. The worst motel 6 is better. I forgot to bring a map, so I got directions to the other extended stay America in the area, only to be redirected to Crosland. The desk clerk laughed when she told me I was booked at the other location. I thought it was because I went to the wrong one, but it was because she knew what I was about to experience.”

• Convenience to work.
• It's no frills whatsoever. Bring shampoo and a hairdryer. If you like strong coffee, bring your own.

“The hotel was well-lighted outside, clean and safe, and located off several major roads. The Crosland's best feature is its convenience to the local businesses in the north suburbs, which makes it nice for overnight stays for business travelers. The rooms are small. The beds are comfortable enough. The towels are adequate. I can't really complain too much, though.”

“Requested non-smoke room, was assigned smoke room, did not sleep well, eyes burned for both nights stay. The guy was not caring about my situation. It was very difficult to get into from the South, got terribly lost. The walls, door knobs, handles, table was dirty. It was not a good experience.”

• The staff is wonderful, I have a corner room, the guest seems to be working people, and it is very clean.
• I just found out that I have to hit 07 to see channel 7 on the TV. It isn't programmed for it.

• Love the location and the coffee pots!
• No wake-up calls.

“My husband and children (8 and 5) just loved it. It was perfect. Denny's, Wal-Mart and Starbucks right around the corner. Gas and minim art right up the road...we couldn't ask for more. Our room was very clean, beds extremely comfortable, and the staff was so nice and courteous. The only downfall - no wake-up calls. Other than that, we would stay there again if we were to travel to Illinois again.”

• No clerk to check out with on Sunday morning.

“All rooms have exterior doors. Weak air conditioning. Tiny room. No amenities at all. My room had a double bed not large enough for two people. No room service on weekends.”
