“We spent about half our time in room, it was great, my son just graduated from NAVY boot-camp, he was thrilled with relaxing and having home cooked meals, the room had a full kitchen, dishes, plates, dishwasher and cookware. We brought his PC from home and hooked it up-free wireless. Great time.” Mar 10, 2009 by
Ashley from Chicago,IL
“We very much enjoyed our stay. We loved that the room was clean and had a kitchen. Also, the first room we were in smelled of smoke and when we requested a change the hotel staff was very understanding and accommodating. Overall, I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to my friends.” Feb 25, 2009 by
Desiree from Monticello,IL
“We had several issues with checking in (first room assigned was already inhabited by another guest, then the exterior doors required a room key to enter, which did not work). Given that we were in a major hurry, I was not pleased with the experience. However, the room was nice & the breakfast was great, which made up for the initial frustration.” Nov 21, 2008 by
Nick from Carmel,IN
“The Residence Inn Waukegan was about 3 miles off of the interstate. With printed directions the hotel was not difficult to locate. The hot breakfast buffet was an appreciated amenity. For the price and location my expectations were met. Clean room and well-kept property. Hotel seemed somewhat understaffed as the same front desk clerk was working both the evening and morning shift.” Nov 19, 2008 by
Rebecca from Enid,OK
“The curb appeal is great! I was not expecting the grounds to be so attractive. My room was absolutely fabulous. Comfortable bed w/ plenty of super soft pillows, the sitting area was extremely useful & I loved having a full size coffee pot & fridge in the room. The staff was extremely helpful & professionally pleasant.” Sep 10, 2008 by
Rob from Lowell, MI
“A nicely laid out extended stay type of a hotel with updated interior and great bed.” Sep 7, 2008 by
Lisa from SW Wisconsin
“We stayed here (1440 South White Oak Drive) when attending our son's Navy boot camp graduation. We were happy with the hotel. The hotel supplies a packet of information, if you ask for it, about how to get to Great Lakes for graduation, and how to get to Gurnee Mills Mall and Six Flags. This hotel is conveniently located between, and on the route between Great Lakes and Six Flags/the Mall. It's only a few miles from each - may be 5 or 6 each direction, I'm not sure. We asked a room with a queen bed, hide-a-bed and kitchenette. The bed was very comfortable, the hide-a-bed only as comfortable as hide-a-beds are for a full-sized adult. The hotel supplied a comfortable cot - a single bed on wheels. The door separating the bedroom area from the living room/kitchenette area was valuable to us. The room was very clean and attractive. We were on the third floor, on an outside wall, so away from the pool and basketball court. It was quiet, we were not disturbed by other guests, even though the place seemed to be fairly full. The hotel has provisions for ordering tickets for Six Flags online in the lobby area, and being able to print them there. You can get the same discount for admission to Six Flags in this way as military personnel can get somewhere on base. You can't get that discount at the ticket booth for Six Flags. The hotel also has an emergency sewing kit, useful for those sailors who lost a button on their uniform! The hotel location is near both attractive office buildings and a residential area. There are no restaurants or bars or gas stations within easy walking distance. When the air conditioning ran in our room, the bedroom area became much cooler than the living room area when the door between them was shut. The air conditioner was loud on the bedroom side. That did not bother us, but it might bother others. The complimentary breakfast is quite nice. The pool is small but looked refreshing.” Aug 27, 2008 by
Maura from Niles, MI
“My daughter and I had a wonderful trip due to the pleasant nature of the staff and the comfort of the room. The breakfast selection was stunning and the spaciousness of the room was great. Everything was immaculate and they even washed our dishes! I highly recommend this hotel.” Aug 9, 2008 by
Scott from Milwaukee, WI
“Very clean and well-appointed rooms and common areas. Helpful staff. Free morning and evening buffets and a beer and wind happy hour. Free newspapers, TV and programming was so-so. Fitness center was very small and minimally equipped but there is a sport court and pool.” Aug 6, 2008 by
Lisa from Mineral Point, WY
“This hotel was very well located for attending the graduation, and also for going to Six Flags and the Gurnee Mills Mall. It was very attractive and pleasant, and the hotel quickly provided a cot (a pretty decent single bed) when we found our son could stay with us for the weekend. Our room was on the third floor and on the parking lot side of the building, which may have accounted for the fact that it was quiet and we were not disturbed by other guests, even though the hotel was obviously pretty full. There aren't any nearby businesses, restaurants or gas stations - nothing in walking distance. It is an attractive residential/business area and seems very safe. It is also pretty much right on the way between Great Lakes and Six Flags - it backs up to Waukegan Road (hwy 43). The hotel provided a miniature sewing kit when we needed it for a loose uniform button, means to order and print discounted tickets for Six Flags from the lobby, directions to Navy Graduation, Six Flags and the Gurney Mills Mall. The complimentary breakfast was very nice, including scrambled eggs, muffins, sausage and bacon, French toast, waffles, fruit, etc.” May 9, 2008 by
Melanie from Normal, IL
“A true Residence Inn with all of the quality comforts of home our room had a gas fireplace (something extra and a surprise!) To keep us cozy on a cool night. The bedding (King) was comfortable and clean, and the bathroom was perfect no stains on the grout! The hotel grounds were meticulously maintained and it had a great courtyard near the pool, guest check-in (breakfast), and hotel buildings. A very nice place to stay with family.” May 7, 2008 by
Amanda from Harrison Township, MI
“This hotel was great to stay at. There is free fountain pop 24 hours in the lobby and the staff was great. Our room was clean and it was not set up like a normal hotel room. It had a full kitchen and a desk with internet.” May 6, 2008 by
John from Conway, AR
“The hotel and the staff were very nice. The staff was very happy to assist and tried to meet my every need. Room was neat and clean and very comfortable. The desk chair was slightly damaged but it wasn't an inconvenience.” May 3, 2008 by
Mark from Lufkin, TX
“Our stay at this hotel was excellent. It was real a short drive from the Navy base. The room was nice size rooms. The breakfast was excellent. We had a great time.” Mar 27, 2008 by
Stephanie from Murray, UT
“The hotel was wonderful, and the rooms were great. I don't understand having an outdoor pool in a place where it's freezing cold most of the year. Having a full kitchen was wonderful, and there is a free breakfast every morning. Two of our TV channels didn't have sound for the first two days, but then it suddenly worked again. I would recommend this hotel to couples, families, and business travelers. We enjoyed our stay.” Mar 17, 2008 by
Daylene from Springfield, IL

Tina from Dayton, OH
“The rooms were big enough to accommodate two adults in the queen bed, two kids in the hide-a-way bed and our Navy grad son on an air mattress on the floor. The staff made us feel very welcomed. The only disappointment was the lack of indoor pool. I would feel at home and very comfortable staying at this place again.” Feb 1, 2008 by
Christine from Washington, IL
“Overall our stay was nice. I had a little trouble with the person working the front desk when we checked-in. She was on the phone ordering her dinner and made we wait approx. 12 minutes while she figured out what she wanted to eat. Then she didn't give me very good instruction on how to get to our room, including not telling me we had to go outside and to another building to get there. It also took them about 10 minutes to get us a luggage cart to use.” Jan 2, 2008 by
Tiffany from Mattoon, IL
“The hotel was great free breakfast and free 24 hour soft drink bar.” Dec 15, 2007 by

“This was a very comfortable and accessible motel with free Internet access and coffee in the rooms. It also had a shared computer and printer accessible near the lobby area. The rooms were quiet and the kitchen facilities in the suite were very complete and clean. The free breakfast buffet was excellent and very convenient for us. The Motel staff was very friendly and helpful.” Nov 19, 2007 by

“The Residence Inn is fantastic. Seems brand new. Rooms are huge, with full kitchen, extremely clean. Included dinner and full hot breakfast buffet. Wish we had a week to stay there!” Nov 8, 2007 by
Dc from Bloomington, IL
“We stayed in the hotel during the Daylight Savings conversion time. The alarm went off too early in the morning and we were hearing paging messages between the limo driver and the hotel authorities. It happened couple of times and ruined our sleep. Maybe room service folks should reset the alarm clock after each customer leaves the room. Otherwise our stay was next to perfect.” Nov 6, 2007 by
Connie from Ada, OH
“Overall, we were very pleased with the hotel and room. It was a bit smaller than other residence inns we've stayed in but, it was still nice. The complementary breakfast was nice and always helps out when families are traveling on a budget. It makes you feel as if the management really does want you to stay at their hotel.” Oct 30, 2007 by

“Overall very nice but the air conditioning unit was extremely loud and rattled when it kicked on. Asked for a roll away bed to be sent to our room at the front desk but it never arrived and no call to explain.” May 9, 2007 by
Paula M. from Columbus, GA
“The hotel was better than I expected. The room was beautifully decorated and very clean. The only disappointment I had with the room was probably my fault. I had thought I was going to have a separate bedroom. The bedroom was open to the living area where the sleep sofa was located. I had wanted the two with me to have their privacy at bedtime. Otherwise it was excellent. I am a person that watches TV all night and wanted the bedroom enclosed so the two with me would not be bothered by me watching TV. We all enjoyed the stay! Next time I will be sure that I get a suite that has an enclosed bedroom. The hotel was my only delight!” Apr 4, 2007 by

“We were sad that the hot tub was closed for the season (outdoor pool and hot tub). Otherwise it is a great hotel. I've never been to a hotel with friendlier staff. The breakfast is great, and the breakfast room is clean and comfortable. Beautiful rooms with a full size fridge, ice maker, stove, microwave and wireless Internet!! Very comfortable beds. I would definitely recommend it.” Oct 1, 2006 by

“The hotel met all expectations we had. We were told by the hotel staff that they would not charge us although your associates told us they would. We were very upset to hear that your staff lied. We had stayed at the Golden Nugget which was misrepresented as to having a swimming pool to be open in May. When we got there the pool was not even close to be opening. We left and stayed at another hotel which ended up costing us two bills. I was very sad by the way that your customer service people responded to our problem. The Golden Nugget staff were very understanding agreeing that we were misinformed. I would like a response from someone about this matter. ” 0 of 2 people found this review helpful.Aug 22, 2006 by
