“If you are going to Milwaukee it is a great place to stay-location is central to food-and entertainment. Hotel staff friendly and hotel is immaculate.” Jul 6, 2009 by
Anna from Green Bay,WY
“The hotel is simply elegant. Right in the heart of downtown Milwaukee. Close to the waterfront and many activities and night spots. I would most certainly stay again.” Jun 18, 2009 by
Mary from Marengo,IL
“Very attractive, helpful and friendly staff and the electronic key worked perfectly each time we entered the room - TV was easy to operate and in excellent working order.” Apr 30, 2009 by
Carrie from New York,NY
“The Pfister hasn't changed much in 20 years. It has a beautiful lobby and the cafe has very good food and service. The decor and bathrooms are dated looking. The bathroom fittings could use updating. The style of the hotel is a bit old fashioned for my taste, but I can see most travelers enjoying the old world elegance. Just not my style but a great hotel.” Aug 24, 2008 by
Tina from Janesville, WI
“We were very pleased with this hotel. We had a great time staying there and would love to stay there again.” Aug 20, 2008 by
Chris from Orland Park, IL
“The hotel was beautiful and the hotel staff was excellent but the air quality was poor. The hotel is older and smells musty and like cigars.” Jul 30, 2008 by
C from Mt Prospect, IL
“There were two major down points to this hotel for me. The first was the room we got was smoking, and smelled extremely bad. When I called the front desk, they said their hotel was completely smoke free. Odd, since there were ashtrays with the hotel logo in the room. The other was that I asked a couple people about a local attraction and both people said pointed me to the concierge; however, it was obvious that the concierge was already closed for the evening. Since the event I was hoping to go to was for that evening, and the staff refused to help in place of the concierge, I ended up having to find something else to do.” Jul 14, 2008 by
Betty from Naperville, IL
“Overall we were very pleased with this hotel. We will stay there again next year.” Jul 3, 2008 by
Christy from Evanston, IL
“If you want a cushy stay at a lovely landmark hotel, the Pfister is the place to be. Every question and need is met with a smile and friendly service. However, amenities normally found for free at budget hotels - such as internet access or free continental breakfast - are missing, and the carpet in some suites is old and smells dank.” Jul 3, 2008 by
Sara from Green Bay, WY
“The Pfister is a beautiful historic hotel in downtown Milwaukee. It's within walking distance to many attractions, so it was very convenient. There is also an amazing view from the 23 floor martini lounge "Blu". The only drawback is the price.” Jun 9, 2008 by
Louise from Sheboygan, WI
“Beautiful, grand, old hotel in business section of downtown Milwaukee. This fancy hotel was without a shuttle to the convention center and a ten block walk to the convention center is a bit too far for most conventioneers with gear to carry. Great for the business traveler with an expense account, but expensive parking, internet service, and lack of a free shuttle service compromised the overall value of this hotel.” Mar 21, 2008 by
Verno from Janesville, WY
“Hotel has a great atmosphere, for a leisure traveler, and is located downtown by many fine restaurants, and great bars.” Jan 8, 2008 by
Jerry from Hobart, IN
“For the two of us it was just fine - a mini vacation in the middle of winter. It was near where we wanted to be, easily within walking distance for two reasonably healthy seniors. Theatre and art are nearby. It would be interesting to stay there in the summer. Likely much more to do.” Aug 23, 2005 by
Joanne from Minneapolis
“The carpet was dirty in our room and there was an ever present smell of mold in the room and by the elevators. The lounge chair in our room smelled old as well and the desk chair didn't fit under the desk so it was very difficult to work at the desk. Also - it was very strange that the ice tray was extremely dusty (I guess the room hadn't been used in a long while). The hotel also charged for toll free dial ups to my office via a 1-888 number, which I hadn't experienced before (maybe this is the new thing since I've heard most hotels are not adding back add-ons to increase revenues.) DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE PRICE. ” 3 of 4 people found this review helpful.Hotel Representatives:
