“The Hilton once again backed up the famous name for hotels with upscale rooms and facilities. The staff gets 4 stars from us, thank you.” Aug 27, 2007 by
Phillip from Gilman, WI
“The rooms here are very nice; there is a pool and a work out room. We only stayed one night, but I would consider the staff, very friendly and helpful. The hotels location was good, it is close to a lot of shopping and dining and also had dining at the hotel itself (we did not eat here). The lobby was very clean and beautiful and had a large sitting area off to one side with comfortable couches and chairs. I would like very much to stay here again for a longer period and make use of all the amenities offered. My wife and 2 yr. Old son were with me and we all enjoyed it very much. Our stay was very pleasant. I would highly recommend it.” Jul 7, 2006 by

“Horrible Experience. Had to request pillows 5 times. There were no glasses or cups (even plastic) in our room, even after housekeeping had been through. Staff was RUDE. When requesting pillows, asking for glasses, and checking in, not one single person was polite or even remotely freindly. Room was extremely small, especially the bathroom. Couldn't open the bathroom door but 2/3 of the way. Toilet was excessively loud, I am sure it disturbed everyone near us. No noise insulation, you could hear everything that went on in the hall, all night long. No alarm clock in the room (like it said). No "do not distrub" dign, we were woken up by housekeeping everymorning, including the day we were checking out. I would never stay at this hotel again, no matter how great the rate.” 3 of 4 people found this review helpful.Mar 29, 2006 by

“Nice old hotel in an awesome location. My view wasn't great (a rooftop and ductwork), but I was mostly concerned with a clean place to sleep. My only complaint would be that you couldn't close the drapes all the way so the orange glow lights were coming in all night. Good thing they had lots of pillows to cover your head with.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 17, 2005 by

“I have visited Milwaukee many times and have stayed in may hotels. The Hilton City Center in Milwaukee was excellent for its location, style, room size and price. I will visit this hotel again for sure.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 16, 2005 by

“I would highly recommend this hotel, especially for the price. It was convenient to everything downtown, was extremely clean and taken care of, rooms were ample and well appointed. The staff was very friendly and helpful.” Nov 15, 2005 by
Stef from Los Angeles, CA
“Great location. Huge. 729 rooms. Big watermark. Bar allowed smoking which I consider hard to deal with. Staff was mixed but fairly good overall. I might have expected slightly better though.” Nov 15, 2005 by
Richard from Cypress, CA
“Excellent location with many fine historical touches, but TVs, mattresses and paint should be replaced, all just about worn out.” Nov 15, 2005 by
Lewis from Milwaukee, WI
“The sole reason for our stay at this establishment was one of practicality, we had no bed at our condo in Milwaukee for the night. It is difficult to be objective with this hotel because of an incident involving personnel at the front desk. Due to our divergent schedules my wife and I had to drive there in separate automobiles, and the individuals on staff refused to waive one of the parking fees in the hotel garage ($18/night/car). It does not seem like a large amount of money, but I was taken aback by the lack of flexibility in dealing with a customer's unique situation. Based on my experience it would NEVER be my conscious selection.” Nov 15, 2005 by
Robin from Green Bay, WI
“It was ok.” Nov 15, 2005 by
Stephanie from Washington, DC
“The hotel was very nice with a grand entrance and lobby including 3 different restaurants. The room was very nice but not as big as the room at the Courtyard Marriott which included a small sitting area. It has "Paradise Landing" water park which looked great for kids - including a couple fountains and wading pools and a slide. Our only problem was they didn't clean our room before our second night! (We had made a separate reservation for each night, so maybe things got confused.)” Nov 14, 2005 by
William from Oak Lawn, IL
“Room was old but nice. They put us next to elevators but this didn't bother us. See 12 13 above.” Nov 9, 2005 by
Anne from Kalamazoo, MI
“Hotel is lovely, but not well equipped to handle large groups of people at once. Long waits at the elevator.” Nov 9, 2005 by
Judy from Kalamazoo, MI
“We were there for a conference with 3000 attendees. The hotel staff was very accommodating in that regard (which is probably why we did not get a non-smoking room.) Room service was accurate and prompt. The weekend was great due in part to good accommodations.” Nov 9, 2005 by
Barbara from Kalamazoo, MI
“Overall it was very nice in its appearance and cleanliness. The staff could have been more accommodating as to what our needs were because we made the reservation a long while in advance.” Nov 2, 2005 by
Mike from Saint John, IN
“Convenient location in downtown Milwaukee, nice sports bar on premises, excellent value.” Nov 2, 2005 by
Heather from Kenosha, WI
“Everything about the stay was fine except for the relatively thin walls. Despite hearing undesirable conversations, the hotel and staff was wonderful. I would return again in hopes of better neighbors.” Nov 2, 2005 by
Kelly from Port Washington, WI
“The front desk and bellman were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel itself was beautiful.” Oct 30, 2005 by
Tom from Oshkosh, WI
“Easy parking, good size room, well appointed, good location.” Oct 26, 2005 by
Heidi from Livingston, WI
“Very good hotel. Everything we needed, except an adequate supply of coffee was right there. I'd stay there again.” Oct 26, 2005 by
Lori from Atlanta, GA
“All staff very accommodating. Would like to especially thank Laura at the front desk for meeting all our needs.” Oct 26, 2005 by
Aaron from Milwaukee, WI
“This hotel is quite beautiful. However the staff was quite rude and had an arrogance about them that was a huge turnoff. For instance, when we went to the front desk to inquire where we could get some bottled water since the one vending machine in the hotel was sold out of everything, the front desk person told us that she could get us some tap water. And that was her only suggestion. Talk about rude and not willing to help.” Oct 25, 2005 by
Gretchen from Osceola, WI
“Good value. Clean facility. Convenient location. Friendly staff. Parking is expensive.” Oct 25, 2005 by
Rachelle from Cedar Springs, MI
“While I expected to have a top quality room, as this is a Hilton Hotel, I was less impressed than I had expected I would be and have stayed at many "lower level" hotels that were nicer and cleaner than this Hilton Hotel.” Oct 24, 2005 by
Candy from Milwaukee, WI
“The hotel was nice. Great price for high class. But the pillows could have been fluffier and it did not help that the building entrance and lobby smelled like public restroom, kind of a turnoff.” Oct 20, 2005 by
Ben I. from Whitewater, WI
“Great location, beautiful grand hotel, with an accessible attached waterpark.” Oct 19, 2005 by
Justin from Bettendorf, IA
“Hotel staff was very friendly, and location was great. Nearby cheap parking. Room was clean, and bathroom was good, too, with nice fixtures, and no missing tiles, dirt, etc. Good water pressure. Some noise from nearby rooms, but not intolerable. Would come again gladly.” Oct 19, 2005 by
Chris from Chicago, IL
“I was horribly disappointed with my stay because I received $300 in phone charges on my bill and when I complained to the management I was horribly mistreated, and received abusive behavior, I am disgusted by this hotel.” Oct 19, 2005 by
Keith from Wheaton, IL
“This hotel is well located in Milwaukee (near convention center, sports venues, and a department store). Even though the parking is $18 at a covered parking garage, there is an outdoor lot across the street where parking is $5 nightly. The rooms are large, well decorated and attractive. Crabtree and Evelyn bath products are provided. Soon a Starbucks coffee bar is opening near the gift shop (opening November, 2005). For families, there is also a water park located inside the hotel. Highly recommended hotel for both leisure and business travelers.” Oct 19, 2005 by
Chin from Milwaukee, WI
“Generally, I am satisfied with this hotel moderately. If the room can be bigger, and if the internet can be free (maybe this is an antique hotel), I'll like it more.” Oct 18, 2005 by
Joe from St. Louis, MO
“Loved this hotel. Nice room, excellent steak house, a bar that doesn't break the bank with plenty of Wisconsin hospitality. I took a mile walk to the lake at 10.00 on Friday night, the weather was beautiful, the streets were vital, but very safe, loads of shops and nice river walk as well. ” Oct 13, 2005 by
Sarah from Oak Park, IL
“Great location, clean, basic.” Oct 13, 2005 by
Dina from Chicago, IL
“The Hilton in downtown Milwaukee is great! It's an older hotel with old school charm. The staff was great. The front desk staff even sent a bottle of champagne up to my room because I was there celebrating my birthday!” Oct 13, 2005 by
Mary from Downers Grove, IL
“Centrally located in downtown Milwaukee with knowledgeable concierge and staff make this Hilton a winner. My 10 year old son even wanted to know who makes their sheets? Excellent stay!” Oct 13, 2005 by
Catherine from Tower Lakes, IL
“Indoor water park would be great for kids. The bar is great and the fitness center is very nice.” Oct 13, 2005 by
Doy from Olympia Fields, IL
“This hotel would be great for families with kids. Has indoor water park and is centrally located to many attractions. Would stay there again.” Oct 12, 2005 by
Kathy from Grand Rapids, MI
“I would give this hotel very high marks. Everything about it was very exceptional. Clean and friendly.” Oct 12, 2005 by
Keely from Lafayette, IN
“I enjoyed the hotel. It was beautiful. We had a good time. We were only there a couple of days and didn't spend much time there. It was relatively quiet, except on Sunday morning we did have kids running up and down the hallways fairly early. That happens though, did not hinder our stay at all. The only issue I have is with the $18.00 per night parking. That was ridiculous. Overall though we had a good stay.” Oct 5, 2005 by
Kay from Middleton, WI
“Milwaukee Hilton is on the main street, Wisconsin Avenue and opposite the Convention Center and very near to the Marquette University Campus. This is a long standing Milwaukee hotel renewed and added onto include a water park for children. The lobby area maintains the appearance of a hotel with cared for patina. The rooms are decorated in a traditional style comfortable and appropriate for the business and leisure traveler alike. The parking garage was attached with in and out privileges for $18/day. Staff was pleasant and accommodating although we didn't had many requests or queries.” Oct 3, 2005 by
Kathy from Middleton, WI
“The hotel was nice but didn't compare to the 4 stars in Chicago. I was put in a room right next to the exercise room that had a bank of at least 4 TVs on the wall the two rooms shared. Very loud when the TV's were turned up and the treadmill on actually shook the pictures on my walls. When I asked to move they put me in a room where I think all the plumbing ran down the outside wall. I heard other people actually "peeing" in the toilets and every time someone flushed or ran water it sounded like they were using my bathroom. Needless to say I didn't sleep well either night. I could also see the hallway lights through the gaps in my door and you could hear everyone coming and going all night long.” Sep 27, 2005 by
Nicole from West Bend, WI “Very nice, historic hotel, beautful lobby, great restaurants and bar.” Sep 27, 2005 by
Konrad from Delavan, WI
“Good location many amenities, many good restaurants and pub. Adequate parking facilities.” Sep 27, 2005 by
Tena from Chicago, IL
“My only real complaint was that I could hear everything that was going on in the room next to mine. Our rooms were conjoined which is why I think the noise was able to come through.” Sep 27, 2005 by
Joe from Rolling Meadows, IL
“If you press a little, you may not end up with a view, but at least you'll be able to sleep at night (something that didn't happen on my first visit). The maids are very nice, but have obviously forgotten something major on each trip (trip 1 the sheets had not been changed from the previous guest, trip 2 the toilet was not cleaned, trip 3 the tub was not cleaned). This probably sounds much worse than it really is (I should say the areas were mostly cleaned in trips 2 and 3... trip 1 was not acceptable). Overall, not bad, but the 2 1/2 star Courtyard by Mariott offered downtown is a superior value. I would have thought the Courtyard is the 3 star and the Hilton was the 2 1/2 if I had a blindfold on going in.” Sep 25, 2005 by
Scott from Colfax, IL
“Very nice. Good location rooms were clean only other problem, maid came to early knocking on door.” Sep 25, 2005 by
Dan from New York, NY
“The Hilton in Milwaukee is one of those big old downtown hotels, built in the grand 1930s style. The public areas are fairly formal, chandeliers and all. The rooms (I was given one on the 21st floor) are nicely furnished and decorated. There's a selection of on site eateries with various price ranges, along with plenty of other food and shopping options in the immediate neighborhood. Many of Milwaukee's main attractions are within walking distance if you don't mind a little exercise. All in all, it was a great and convenient place to stay. ” Sep 23, 2005 by
Melanie from Chicago, IL
“If you want to stay in a hotel with breathtaking amenities than this is the hotel for you. Cleanliness, courtesy and attention to large detail is their specialty. However, if quick reliable service is what you want I suggest you move on to the next hotel. Hey look at it this way you can't have everything. I would rather have beauty and courtesy than promptness and curtness any day. I guess it is all about preferences.” Sep 21, 2005 by
Wendy from Mattawan, MI
“I would definitely stay here again. The hotel had great restaurants and bar on premises and was close to downtown.” Sep 13, 2005 by
Heidi from Chicago, IL
“We like this hotel as it's located in a central part of Milwaukee, has a nice staff and is clean. We would stay here again. If you have kids, the water park looks like fun and would make any kid a happy camper. It's on the older side, but still well maintained.”
