• The windows had room darkening shades and the hotel was within walking distance of several attractions.
• Nothing.

“The hotel was quite clean, just recently remodeled. The staff was friendly and helpful in finding the best way to get around town.”

• Good location with free parking.
• Night manager rude.

“The hotel lobby is pretty. Halls smell of smoke on the smoking floors. We heard a noise late at night and hoped someone was getting pizza and opened the door to find people from 2 rooms down. Night manager walk up within 30 seconds of us opening the door and told us to keep it down that we could be heard 2 floors up and would not listen to us at all. Obviously, we heard the same thing as him.”

“We had fun in Milwaukee. We went on a tour of the Coors Miller Brewery. They also have a casino there. This hotel was downtown close to everything. The staff at the hotel was very friendly. The room had lots of extra pillows and comfortable beds. It was just as nice as some of the more expensive hotels that we have stayed in.”

“This is a minimalistic hotel, not what I expect from a downtown Ramada. The beds were nice and the parking was great, otherwise, this hotel feel circa 1979, not 2009.”

• Conveniently located downtown Milwaukee.
• There were no fans in the room, not even in the bathroom.

“The hotel is not the fanciest but it is easy to get to and is located in a good location. Everything we wanted to see and go to was with in 5-7 miles and we were able to walk or take a taxi for under $10.00. The beds were very small, they must have been full size beds and we were told they were queen.”

• The location was great for our trip to the Mil. Brewer game and was right off the main highway.
• The room was not clean. The shower curtain was on the floor and there was obvious stains on the comforter.

“The location and lobby was beautiful. I was not impressed with one of the receptionists. We were actually too uncomfortable to sleep under the blankets so luckily we brought our own. I loved the location but would probably choose another hotel for my next trip!”

• Decent location.
• Could use some remodeling. Rooms weren't as clean as should be expected. No ashtrays in smoking room requested one from front desk but never got one.

• Room dirty at check-in, changed to a different one to find used soap in tub, no screens on windows, TV. fuzzy.

“My stay there was awful, in a horrible neighborhood. Our room was not clean and we got a different one that still had soap in the shower. I would not recommend this to anyone.”

• The staff was very friendly and helpful.
• Room was stuffy with little air flow.

“Overall the hotel was nice. A little difficult to get to as it is downtown and not near an off ramp from the highway as well as heavy construction and the ramp listed on downloaded directions was closed. Thank goodness for GPS. Again, the hotel was nice overall and I would probably stay there again.”

• No Sunday newspaper available for sale.

“Hotel location was downtown which was nice but in a less than desirable neighborhood. The bar and restaurant were small and not very busy. There was no hotel store to purchase snacks, newspapers or magazines. Not paying extra for parking at a downtown hotel was helpful.”

• Looked very dirty.

• This hotel has free parking and is close to Downtown Milwaukee.
• The blanket/sheets were tattered, but clean. Useless temperature controls in room.

“I checked in late at night, so I only used my room -- I didn't look anywhere else in the hotel. It really fit the bill, being close to downtown, and offered free parking. My room was VERY clean, which is always my first priority, but there were a few glitches. My blanket was very tattered, with big bald spots. The fitted sheets easily "popped off" of the nice, newer pillow top mattresses, and the heat/cooling controls in the room were useless. I ended up accidentally turning the room into a hot box (nice to wake up to at 2am) due to confusing and outdated fan controls. The staff was VERY courteous and friendly. Despite the minor shortcomings, I would stay there again, although they have to fix some small things before they will deserve the extra half-star.”

• My room was non-smoking, but there was a lot of smoke coming from a neighboring room through vent in bathroom.

“The room itself was adequate for my needs. The cigarette smoke pervading my room the second night kept me from getting the rest I needed. The smell of smoke seemed to be entering my room through a vent in the bathroom. There was no exhaust fan so the smoke smell built as the evening progressed. Unsatisfactory!”

“Pleasant staff. Clean though dated. Oddly enough, rooms are different. 3rd stay reveals nicer decor but not sure if there is a pattern. Restaurant food is fine, but expensive. That should not be an issue given location and area options. Good for business travel.”

• The hotel has reasonable quality fixtures, but everything is beginning to look rundown. Could easily move up in attractiveness by renovating.

• Easy to find downtown.
• A seedy location. I worried about parking my car then walking to lobby.

• Convenient location, very nice room, friendly helpful staff.
• No exhaust fan in bathroom, thermostat did not seem to be working properly, room was extremely cold.

“Beautifully remodeled, nice furniture, very comfortable beds, lots of extra pillows, coffee in the room, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, very nicely appointed rooms. We used the city guide extensively for help in finding things to do and maps. Personnel at desk were also very helpful in giving directions.”

• Friendly people, not expensive and right in the middle of Milwaukee.
• No view of the lake, no valet parking.

“Very friendly staff, good price for downtown, my room was nice and clean. I was in and out fast, no long lines or waiting for someone else to handle luggage. No extra charges for parking or internet. I loved the free coffee in the room which I had before I even got dressed. All of my sales calls were less than 20 minutes in any direction.”

• Turned out to be too much money for one night.

“It was a very clean room. The hotel is located in a good and convenient location to the downtown area. The staff was very friendly. Check in and out was a breeze. I love this hotel. I stay here every time I go to Milwaukee!”

“Only problem we had as a group going to Milwaukee was all of the road construction going on in the city. Once it is completed I'm sure it will be very nice, however right now it's really a pain in the a**.”

• The location was good and within less than a mile of excellent bars and restaurants.
• The front desk staff could have been a little more friendly but still were nice.

“Yeah, so the curtains in our room were a little broken... you had to tug them hard. That was really my only complaint about the room. The front desk people were ok, not exceptionally friendly or accommodating, but still acceptable. The free parking is a bonus, and even when we came in late there were still spots to be had. We did not try the lounge/restaurant so I have no input about that. I would definitely stay there again.”

• The wireless internet and free parking was great.
• The cleanliness and working order of almost everything in the hotel.

“Sure, it was a great price for the area. But it shouldn't have been so hard to have at least a stain free wall and maybe elevator buttons that actually were whole and not broken. Also was a tremendous inconvenience to have to try three floors for a working pop machine! For how empty the hotel was that weekend, they should have made sure to put us in better accommodations than the floor and room they gave us. I guess the good thing about the hotel was the price, location, internet, and free parking. Plus if you're on a budget and need to stay downtown, then this hotel would be fine. But don't expect too much, or to actually be in the downtown happening spots, it's right at the edge, across from a Greyhound though!”

• The outdoor pool was great fun in 90 degree weather!
• Some parts of our bathroom were missed when cleaning was done, but someone came and spruced it up for us when we requested it.

“We were extremely pleased with The Ramada Inn. It was clean, quiet, roomy and a very nice place to spend a weekend night. We had requested two rooms and received two adjacent non-smoking rooms - exactly what we wanted!”

“stayed at the hotel several times and really the only complaint we have is that we were fortunate to get non smoking rooms each time but each time we've stayed the rooms still smelled like someone has smoked and also could smell someone smoking in other rooms. Also would have liked if Pay per View movies were available to watch.”
