• Handicap room had absolutely NO accommodations for handicapped people.

• Kitchen with room.
• Some trouble getting key cards to work.

“Staff were friendly and allowed up to check out two hours later than official time. Hotel is just off a highway, but we didn't notice any traffic noise. Lots of shopping and restaurants within a mile of hotel.”

• coffee pot and microwave which I appreciated very much.
• There were no cups or plastic glass available.

• It was reasonable and close to my work location.
• The kitchenette area could have been cleaned better.

“Overall, the hotel was good. I think selling conveinence items like shampoo etc from their pantry is a little cheesy, but overall a good experience.”

• The hotel had a great location for my needs and it was both comfortable and quiet.
• The was a long hair on the bathtub by the spout, not mine and the toilet lid didn't always stay up. Everything else was great, though.

“The hotel has a great location if you need to visit Chicago's northern suburbs. There were nice amenities, I slept well, and the staff was very friendly. No Issues.”

• The staff was friendly. Parking was free.
• The rooms were small, towels too thin, bed too small, room smelled like urine.

• The kitchen was great!
• Too far away from Chicago!

“The Homestead is a great place for business travelers to rest their weary heads if they are doing business in the suburbs of Chicago. However, it is incredibly inconvenient to travel into Chicago itself from that location. If you're thinking of visiting Chicago for the weekend, pick someplace inside the city limits. Otherwise you will spend all your time driving in and driving out of the city.”

• Location was close and convenient.
• The room was not clean. Bedding had cigarette burns, carpet was dirty, the room smelled moldy.

“The place looks great on the outside. My room was dirty on the inside. I went up to the front desk and submitted a request to be changed to another room. No one ever got back to me during my three night stay. Another time I was walking by the front desk, another gentlemen was complaining about his dirty bedding.”

• Mike was very helpful, but everyone else was rude.
• Front desk people were rude and not helpful(except Mike)

“The hotel was very nice, but I always had a hard time getting things from the daytime front desk people. In a customer service position, you do not tell a customer that they cannot have something as simple as two beds instead of one. Mike was very helpful & friendly, they should hire more front desk people like him.”

“A very clean & nice hotel. Liked having the option of cooking in the room if I wanted to. The only negative is that there is no pool. But, that is a very small negative. Nice place!”

• Room smelled like smoke.

“This is a hotel that is convenient to the Libertyville, Vernon Hills, and Mundelein area of Lake County. It is near major shopping and less than 10 minutes from I-94. The kitchen in the room is helpful and includes a stove, microwave, refrigerator, and sink. The complimentary breakfast was better than expected too. I would recommend this hotel.”

• Staff would not grant our request for additional bed

• The location was what we needed.
• The customer service was the worst I have experienced ever.

“The hotel was clean and had the amenitites we needed. They weren't willing to change our reservation from a double bed to two doubles. They wouldn't clean our room and when asked for clean towels, they said they would bring them and then never did. I was dissapointed in their service.”

• There were many toothpaste droppings on the carpet, which should have been cleaned by housekeeping.

“Kind of a Super 8 suites. Low on amenities, but overall good condition. We had a problem with a dirty carpet on arrival.”

“I was pleased with the price and location of the hotel. It was very clean and had a kitchenette. We enjoyed having the refrigerator in the room. They only have queen sized beds. We would have preferred a king. Cribs are not available.”

• was told on the phone I could have a two bed room if 1 was available at check in. but wouldn't accommodate at check in

• Close to where I needed. Allowed upgrade for additional fee upon check in.
• Queen size bed is only option without rollaway.

• I liked the kitchenette feature
• there were hairs on the floor in the bathroom and no shampoo

“The beds were comfortable, the room was nice, however any extras such as shampoo, conditioner, or other little extras most hotels provide were not available to us. We had to go get them at the local Walgreen's or pay nearly $2.00 each in the small guest shop there which was closed in the evening.”

“Constant noise from nearby laundry room resulted in lack of sleep. No breakfast offered on weekend. Items left in room were either thrown away by staff or kept - hope never to stay there again!”

“The hotel did not offer some of the basic room services such as shampoo, conditioner and daily cleaning which most of us hotel stayers are spoiled by. I was also disappointed in their willingness to recode keys without proper identification. Major safety concern!”
