• Refrigerator.
• Not filthy, but not very clean. I was initially given a room that had not been cleaned.

“Nice amenities; however, I was disappointed with the cleanliness (towels were clean, but stained, hair that did not belong to me on the floor of the bathroom, poorly wiped counter tops).”

“Hotel is very "no-frills", but I like the fact that there is fridge and microwave in each room. The hotel also accepts pets, so it makes it one of my favorites.”

• The room was even better than when we stayed a mo. ago.
• Need ice makers.

“Cannot beat the price. I recommended to another couple, and they stayed there also. We look forward to our third stay in October. Kind of wandered where the dough nuts/pastries were for breakfast. Both days all they had available was just coffee.”

• Room had a complete kitchen.
• Unprofessional staff at check in. We were not given a room with double beds. There was a $20 dollar fee to get a room that fit our family.

“Was not pleased with the staff. Check in was a long ordeal. Price compared to just going online and booking a room that would have been closer to our attraction was not cheaper. Rooms were not sufficient. There was no bedding for the sofa sleeper in the room. Had to go and get it ourselves at 11 at night. No pillows.”

• Having a refrigerator and stove top was nice since we were staying for a week and tired of restaurant food.
• The room wasn't as big as the picture online.

“When we first arrived we were sent to our room. The smell of cigarette smoke was overwhelming the minute we stepped off the elevator. Yuck!! The room we were assigned was not cleaned. Yuck!!! They quickly sent us to another room. Which was very small. But there was no cigarette smoking smell. Yeah!!”

• Pay for Internet, Poor TV reception, Understaffed, dirty stairway carpets, card readers defective, noisy on weekends.

“Looks great on the outside, convenient location, good parking, nice area. Rooms are nice design, however you have to pay $4.99 per stay to use their wireless Internet service, the TV channel reception is poor often going out for no explainable reason and the room although tidy could have used a good cleaning as there were some webs in the corners. The stairway hallways appeared to never be vacuumed and the staff although friendly were pretty much useless often defaulting to their manager who was never there outside of 9 to 5 AM. Place seemed to be a "party" place on the weekends with teens running around the hotel all night long slamming doors and laughing. Hotel seemed understaffed to handle such issues often times just the front desk person to handle everything. The kitchen is functional but remember to bring your own dish washing liquid as they do not provide any and I got the feeling the dishes are NOT washed between guest. The electronic card readers to enter the building other than the front door were defective working only part of the time. Hotel staff didn't seem to concerned about fixing the issue. The AC is thermostat controlled, nice feature, but it also has an activity sensor in the room that turns off the AC if there is no movement in the room. So be sure to move around a lot at night or your room will get warm and humid.”

• The room was excellent. It had everything (refrigerator, stove, microwave, clean, etc.). Great Room for the price!
• Absolutely nothing!

“I was looking for a less expensive room for a business conference that was book at Marriott Lincoln shire. Their rooms were $170+ a night. My room was $35 a night. The room met my expectations and beyond. Great room for a great price!”

• Very clean and spacious. Kitchen great for long stays.
• Staff did not quickly respond to 3 attempts requesting neighboring room's alarm clock. Beeped for 2 hours straight prior to my checkout.

“Easily located, quiet, and very clean. The rate was fantastic. This is not a 4-star hotel. But for the price-conscious traveler it is a no-brainer. I will stay there again for conferences or even for an extended family trip. Kitchen is first rate and the bathroom is large. Comfortable bed and pillows. I do not lavish praise. I have no problem doing that in this instance. I had low expectations and they far exceeded what I had hoped for. I will stay again.”

• The hotel had a great location for my needs and it was both comfortable and quiet.
• The was a long hair on the bathtub by the spout, not mine and the toilet lid didn't always stay up. Everything else was great, though.

“The Homestead is a great place for business travelers to rest their weary heads if they are doing business in the suburbs of Chicago. However, it is incredibly inconvenient to travel into Chicago itself from that location. If you're thinking of visiting Chicago for the weekend, pick someplace inside the city limits. Otherwise you will spend all your time driving in and driving out of the city.”

• The room was not clean. Bedding had cigarette burns, carpet was dirty, the room smelled moldy.

“The place looks great on the outside. My room was dirty on the inside. I went up to the front desk and submitted a request to be changed to another room. No one ever got back to me during my three night stay. Another time I was walking by the front desk, another gentlemen was complaining about his dirty bedding.”

“This is a hotel that is convenient to the Libertyville, Vernon Hills, and Mundelein area of Lake County. It is near major shopping and less than 10 minutes from I-94. The kitchen in the room is helpful and includes a stove, microwave, refrigerator, and sink. The complimentary breakfast was better than expected too. I would recommend this hotel.”

• The location was what we needed.

“The hotel was clean and had the amenitites we needed. They weren't willing to change our reservation from a double bed to two doubles. They wouldn't clean our room and when asked for clean towels, they said they would bring them and then never did. I was dissapointed in their service.”

• There were many toothpaste droppings on the carpet, which should have been cleaned by housekeeping.
