“Absolutely loved this hotel. Staff friendly, beds were comfortable, parking convenient and free, great hours at the nice pool, 3 restaurants, free internet access and best of all the free yummy cookies on check in! Loved, loved this hotel.”

• Cookies on arrival.
• Staff seemed to be "put out" when asked for a King room at check in.

“I was a bit dissatisfied with this hotel. The hotel was not full at all and they placed us in the poorest location ever with the worst view. I was going to ask to be moved but I knew they would not accommodate me due to their attitude upon checkin. The other hotels I have stayed in, in this same area, went out of their way to make sure we were happy. .”

• Friendly, helpful staff; good deal; excellent room service food - exceeded expectations.
• Caulk in bathroom was separating.

“I really enjoyed my stay in February 2008. The room was nicely appointed, bed was comfortable, pillows excellent, room temp control easily set and quick to get to temp - and most importantly, the room was quiet, except for the occasional snow plow hitting a curb outside, which I could hear from the third-floor. The staff was friendly. Had room service one evening - food, while pricey, was exceptionally good. For a 3-star hotel, it met or exceeded my expectations across the board. The only comment I had for the hotel was that the bathroom caulking was separating at the back of the vanity in the bathroom - did not look unclean, just unattended. Otherwise, from a quick check-in, to their placing my receipt under the door on the day of my departure, it was a pleasure to stay there.”

“Friday - very convenient, lot of other stores in the area, very comfortable and staff was excellent. Saturday - kind of out of the way and hard to find, parking lot was quite always from the hotel; was construction going on while there, however our room was updated and very comfortable.”

“Lobby was uplifting, staff was super-hospitable and food was great. I had a case of the holiday blues before arriving to the hotel, but when I walked in the lobby, everything changed. The lobby ceiling was illuminated in purple and pinks, which made me smile and cheery. Then when I checked in, the staff was extremely polished and referred to me politely. And the cookies were a perfect snack. The room was very nice, and bed comfortable. Pool was good. We also ate dinner at the hotel which was superb. The waiters and cooks were great. They welcomed us, served an excellent meal, which surprised me since we arrived just about 20 minutes before closing. This one night stay really helped me clear out my head before returning to work on Monday.”

“We left room early in AM, only to return to it having been 'cleaned'. Bed remade, towels replaced, etc. Only we were checking out, so did they change the sheets? or were they left dirty for the next customer?”

• It was beautifully decorated for the holidays. It was very comfortable.
• The Illinois freeways were hard to Navigate. The walk from the parking lot to our room was long.

“Overall there is a fine atmosphere about the hotel. You feel great walking into such a beautiful lobby and adjoining rooms. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The accommodations help you just want to stay where you are and enjoy everything available.”

• The bed, the overall cleanliness.
• Scratched TV screen, possibly dirty glasses and mugs, no refrigerator, mediocre cable selection.

“Overall very pleasant. I wish they would wrap the glasses and mugs provided. I've seen the horror stories about maids spraying disinfectant or merely rinsing glasses and wiping with a dirty towel at even upscale hotels. I hate having to wash the glasses myself.”

“Nice hotel in a great location just a stone's throw away from highways 88, 294 or 290. Easy access to anywhere in Chicago, but why leave the area when you have Oakbrook mall right across the street from the hotel with shopping and dining options galore.”

“The doubletree has a sparkling reputation for a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, and for offering the very best amenities. This trip certainly met and exceeded our expectations. From warm chocolate chip cookies at check in to the staff making a room change for me at the last minute, this was certainly a trip we'd like to repeat. A+!”

• Upscale and friendly free covered parking free internet.
• We liked everything about it!

“The lobby and common areas were attractive and well maintained, and the staff was friendly. The location is across from an upscale mall and close to business locations and restaurants. In snowy weather, the free covered parking was great, as was the free internet service. We ate in the hotel bar, and the food was good, the service great and there was even free popcorn. The bed was comfy and the pool and exercise area were well appointed and clean with fitted towel covers for the lounge chairs around the pool. We highly recommend this hotel!”

• Comfortable and clean, indoor parking is an option at no cost.
• There was a wedding in the ballroom and we could hear the thumping of the music in our room. We were on the top floor.

“The hotel is remodeled and very nice. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The bed was comfortable. The hotel was close to shopping, dining etc.”

“The hotel was very nice but didn't have a lot of the amenities I have come to expect in hotels that I stay. Getting the cookies at check in was great but no microwave or fridge to keep water cold was a disappointment for me. Wasn't asking what type of bed needed and got a double when a single would have been much better.”

• Anthony's Chophouse served food that was reheated and poor quality.

“Overall, our stay at the DoubleTree Oak Brook was not great. The check-in staff was neither welcoming nor friendly. The room, though beautiful, was not too clean, in fact, there were crumbs on the nightstand from the previous guests. The high-end restaurant, Anthony's Chophouse had exceeding poor service and the food was terrible. Reheated meatballs, canned marinara, soggy Tapenade Encrusted Tilapia, and the hot goat cheese appetizer was a joke - globs of goat cheese sparsely decorated with unripe tomatoes, drenched in olive oil, with toast. The dining experience ruined this one for us!”

“This had to be my best stay at any hotel, ever. The hotel was clean throughout; the staff was friendly and helpful. Parking was perfect. The food was just as I would have expected. I would recommend this hotel to any traveler to the area.”

• The housekeeping staff was wonderful.
• The front desk staffs were rude, inconsiderate and challenged every action or question.

“I have already contacted Hilton directly - as a Hilton property the front desk staff was rude and felt the need to challenge every action. The toilet in the room needed to be fixed twice the same morning (because it was not fixed the first time). Overall, it was a decent stay - I was just disappointed with the overall situation.”

• Convenient location, beautiful facilities & room, friendly staff, yummy cookies!
• In-room hair dryers are not very powerful, could use new ones with higher watts. Bathroom lighting, i.e. make-up application not bright enough.

“This is a lovely hotel with handsome landscaping in an upscale suburb of Chicago, close to shopping. The room was rather small but the furniture was tasteful as was the bedding. An extra touch was the warm chocolate chip cookies we received upon our arrival.”

• Clean, upscale, quiet, non-smoking rooms!
• Broken coffee-maker reported, nothing done about it.

“Nothing worse than having to hold the coffee carafe in position so it will function. Disappointed that nothing was done to fix it, even though I called and reported it the first day. We loved the room, the comfortable bed and would stay there again. Best of all was the price we got for a 3 star! Thank you!”

• Location is behind mall, and parking area is a little annoying. Given 2 bedroom though I checked in with fiance.

“Very nice hotel in a prime area. Behind Oakbrook mall, lots of restaurants, upscale shopping, and entertainment within minutes. Easy to find, easy access to 2 major expressways. Staff was friendly, rooms were nice. Area seemed dead at night, even around 11pm when we checked in. We only stayed the night (literally 3-11am) so we did not get to check out any of the facilities, but workout room on 2nd floor looked nice. Hotel has a beautiful atrium area.”

• The parking was wonderful; view surrounding the hotel was very up lifting.
• I was told after the fact that hotel had computer problems before our arrival and didn't let us know.

“From the computer problem, we were checked in for two days and not three days and we were locked out of our room after the second day. After being locked out of our room, the situation wasn't related to the hotel manager, until I told him how unhappy we were upon check out. Manager did offer to buy us breakfast or lunch. However after all we had to go through to prove who we were, thankfully we still had a copy of our confirmation. Would we drive back to Chicago just to have breakfast or lunch, I think not. The house keeping supervisor was wonderful she try to make the rest of our stay enjoyable as she could. My hat off to them.”

“I have stayed at the Double Tree in Rosemont-O'Hare and I wish that the Oak Brook location had rooms that had the love seat in them to watch TV from, instead of sitting on the bed.”

“Excellent location off of 88. Very nice hotel. They were doing some painting outside and blocked our way in and we spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how to get inside. Crappy start to the weekend rolling our suitcases all over creation. Once we made it inside, everything was VERY nice.”
