• Location was great, right next to Oak Brook Mall.
• Staff was arrogant, lied about not having a king room available.

“Nice hotel, staff lied about having a king room available, first put me in a room right above a large air conditioner which was loud. The hotel was great overall. Look out for yourself and all will be ok.”

• The staff is great. And, the facilities are very nice.
• Water pressure was terrible.

“Very close to the Oak Brook Mall, restaurants of all varieties & price levels. The staff is among the friendliest that I have encountered, and they are consistently so - even if there's a problem to solve. Parking is convenient, and the internet service works well. The water pressure in the shower is substandard, and the plumbing in general seems to be needing some updates. However, the bedding & pillows are among the best you'll find anywhere at any price. A very comfortable hotel & a very pleasant experience overall.”

• We enjoyed Chicago style foods needed a microwave to reheat leftovers.

Very professional, clean, business atmosphere, very classy, we understand the intent may be to have guests dine in the restaurant in the hotel but Chicago has great food attractions away from the hotel as well that being said our stay was still excellent. Would definitely recommend hotel to others.”

• Traffic to the city can be tricky.

“We stayed here overnight just one night but were quite impressed with the hotel staff. They were extremely helpful with directions, with setting up a pack-n-play in our room, and kept asking if there was anything else they could do for us. Oh and I couldn't forget the awesome cookies they gave us!”

• Bathroom (shower & curtain) had some mildew smell. Curtain needed cleaning or replaced.

“A great place to stay. Convenient location. Pleasant & helpful staff. Great internet service. Ample parking. Nice restaurants, both 'in' the hotel as well as close by. Nice pool & workout room as well. The water pressure (in the shower) was not good at all. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this hotel.”

“I had a wonderful stay at the "Double Tree" the room was very clean and I sleep so well. To be honest, the Double Tree room was much nicer than the Hilton. The cookies were GREAT!”

• Very friendly staff. Good internet connection. Bedding is among the most comfortable available.
• Water pressure was not good, especially the shower.

“A very convenient hotel for a business traveler, and with amenities for a family stop. Very nice restaurants (such as Cheesecake Factory, Wildfire, J. Alexander's & Houlihan's) are within walking distance. And, there's even a McDonald's close by in case you need something late-night. Lighting in the room could be better. Although, the lighting in the bathroom is good. The water pressure in the shower is poor & requires a lot of extra time. The staff is very friendly. The pool & exercise areas are more than adequate. The internet connections work almost flawlessly. And, the parking area is very convenient. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.”

• I liked the appearance when you walk in and it has a nice lounge/bar inside, also a restaurant, very nice.
• More channels would've been nice.

“I liked the hotel a lot, although I don't like where the location is. Even though it's close to the mall, dining, etc, it still feels like its in an odd location. Just my opinion. Everything else is very nice. I enjoy staying there.”

• It had a nice lobby and clean room. The workout/swimming area was very functional.
• The TV did not have good reception. Most channels very fuzzy.

• Close to the mall, friendly staff, nice comfy bed, warm cookie on arrival!
• There was some type of conference held at the hotel, large tour bus arrived when we arrived. Waited long time to check in, but we were upgraded!

“Very nice location, not too far from Downtown. We were accommodated/upgraded because we arrived when a large tour bus arrived. AND given 2 free vouchers for breakfast! This REALLY Pleased and impressed me. This is what I call Customer Service. Something that me as a consumer rarely get to experience. Hotel is Across the street from the nice mall. Overall we will stay here again! We had a very nice and stress free anniversary.”

• Walls were thin, could hear the people in the next room.

“Very comfortable 3-star hotel in a good location across from Oak Brook mall. The room was nicely decorated and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and well appointed. Free parking was a bonus. The exercise room and pool area was great. I stayed in my room for a whole week and was not disappointed with anything.”

“It's 100% non-smoking, but I was allowed a balcony room so I could step outside to smoke. The room was a bit small, but the bed was very comfy & there was plenty of hot water & water pressure. The food was great, and the staff was very friendly. They had a few different restaurants to choose from, so there was something for everyone.”

• There was a high-end mall right across the street - excellent location.
• Nothing. Everything was above my expectations.

“I highly - highly recommend this hotel for any traveler (business or leisure) that intends to visit the Chicago area. This hotel is about 20 minutes from downtown Chicago so it is not close to city traffic/noise. Another bonus. There are no hidden parking fees when you stay at this hotel, which totally rocks! The front desk was extremely helpful and kind, as well as their cleaning people. The food was 'the norm'. I plan on returning to Chicago and this hotel is the perfect location!”

• The appearance of the hotel was beautiful; however it's not ideal for a romantic getaway.
• The appearance of the room wasn't what I expected considering the overall appearance.

“My stay was not a bad one. I guess after seeing the public appearance of the hotel I was expecting the room to look just as good. It's a good business getaway spot. It would be a good idea to supply the guest with a small fridge and microwave oven for convenience since you do have a restaurant.”

• It was clean, attractive and the kids liked the indoor pool. It was close to the location we were visiting.
• They did not bring us extra blankets when asked.

• The free parking and ease to get to and from the parking lot to the hotel. This was a very good stay and I would recommend Price Line to my friends.

• Charging .75 for USA, maid missed coffee area.

“A lovely hotel, older but nicely updated. Very corporate. Great exercise area. Dated but clean hot tub. Charge for USA Today was rather hidden in room key envelope. You had to call to decline it. Very convenient to Oakbrook Mall (adjacent). Free attached parking, very close. Free internet. No complimentary breakfast or refrigerator. Room was clean, but maid didn't replace coffee/tea supplies, left a dirty cup, and didnt empty coffee pot. Would definitely return. Great warm cookies.”

• Wish the double rooms had queen beds instead of the full.

• No refrigerator in room and cost was $30 per night!

“I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past but it has been a couple of years. The hotel was formerly a Hyatt now a Double Tree. The hotel was always very nice with excellent staff both as Hyatt and Double Tree. Its had quite a bit of remodeling done in the past couple of years so its even nicer. I would recommend this hotel and area for both business and pleasure as I have done both trips to this property.”

• The staff and hotel itself was great.
• This is the first hotel I have patronized without cable (at least CN or Disney). The only channels for kids were pay channels.

“As mentioned, if traveling with children, this may not be the place for you. There were no channels available other than pay channels. Who wants to spend $3 for a 22 minute kid-friendly show? Although the directory stated there was Disney, Cartoon Network, etc, the channels were unavailable. The staff was excellent. The hotel was cleaned well. I even checked under the beds (allergies to dust). Everything was clean and dust free. If it were just my husband and myself, I would not have a complaint.”

“I was a bit dissatisfied with this hotel. The hotel was not full at all and they placed us in the poorest location ever with the worst view. I was going to ask to be moved but I knew they would not accommodate me due to their attitude upon checkin. The other hotels I have stayed in, in this same area, went out of their way to make sure we were happy. .”

• Caulk in bathroom was separating.

“I really enjoyed my stay in February 2008. The room was nicely appointed, bed was comfortable, pillows excellent, room temp control easily set and quick to get to temp - and most importantly, the room was quiet, except for the occasional snow plow hitting a curb outside, which I could hear from the third-floor. The staff was friendly. Had room service one evening - food, while pricey, was exceptionally good. For a 3-star hotel, it met or exceeded my expectations across the board. The only comment I had for the hotel was that the bathroom caulking was separating at the back of the vanity in the bathroom - did not look unclean, just unattended. Otherwise, from a quick check-in, to their placing my receipt under the door on the day of my departure, it was a pleasure to stay there.”

“Friday - very convenient, lot of other stores in the area, very comfortable and staff was excellent. Saturday - kind of out of the way and hard to find, parking lot was quite always from the hotel; was construction going on while there, however our room was updated and very comfortable.”

“Lobby was uplifting, staff was super-hospitable and food was great. I had a case of the holiday blues before arriving to the hotel, but when I walked in the lobby, everything changed. The lobby ceiling was illuminated in purple and pinks, which made me smile and cheery. Then when I checked in, the staff was extremely polished and referred to me politely. And the cookies were a perfect snack. The room was very nice, and bed comfortable. Pool was good. We also ate dinner at the hotel which was superb. The waiters and cooks were great. They welcomed us, served an excellent meal, which surprised me since we arrived just about 20 minutes before closing. This one night stay really helped me clear out my head before returning to work on Monday.”

• It was beautifully decorated for the holidays. It was very comfortable.
• The Illinois freeways were hard to Navigate. The walk from the parking lot to our room was long.

“Overall there is a fine atmosphere about the hotel. You feel great walking into such a beautiful lobby and adjoining rooms. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The accommodations help you just want to stay where you are and enjoy everything available.”
