• The weather was nice.
• The rooms were very tiny and the bar was outrageously expensive.

“The pool areas, both indoors and outdoors were overcrowded, the rooms were very small, the bar was very expensive, and the location was poor. The whirlpool was also very small and there was basically a waiting line to use it. The restroom near the pool was locked for nearly the entire time of our stay. There is also really nothing within walking distance of the hotel.”

“I liked the location and the hotel was clean and professional. I didn't like the fact that I could not use my laptop without paying and the Business Center you had to pay for the internet and copies. Also no free Breakfast. But other than that it was Great.”

• Convenient location for exiting the city; Modern decor was very streamlined; Outdoor pool, indoor lap pool was gently heated.
• Wish there was a light blanket in the closet to replace the feathers on the bed, too warm.

“We love Marriott and stay at their properties when we can. We traveled from Colorado and this was the first hotel that had real glasses in the room. Excellent meal in the restaurant and we complimented the chef in person.”

• Uncomfortable bed and pillows.

“Everything is great about this hotel except the bed and pillows. Bed was very hard and the pillows were very soft. I had trouble sleeping and woke with a sore back and shoulders. I would not stay here again for that reason.”

• Neat and most of the staff are friendly.
• Did not process my wake up call.

“Mixed experience with this hotel. They managed not to process my very early wake up call and I ended up missing my appointment just be a hair. It was a horror story that should not happen to anyone. Be prepared to have your back-up wake up means.”

• Staff greeted me at 4 am and was extremely pleasant and helpful.
• There was nothing I did not like about this hotel.

“I was very impressed from the moment I stepped in the doors. I was greeted promptly and they were friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. The housekeeping staff was extremely pleasant. I cannot say one bad thing about this hotel.”

• Hot tub was closed.

• Clean. Very comfortable bed. Great TV.
• Thin walls I know way too much about the people in the room next to us. Very small bathroom.

“For the price it was fine. But the walls are thin and we did not appreciate all the noise in the rooms next to us. There was a big function going on at the hotel so I think things were a little more crazy than usual.”

• Very nicely appointed. Lots of electrical plugs in the room.
• Sound proofing lacking! A family with a baby was in the room next door and I heard the baby crying & family yelling all night!

“The clerk told me that the room he was assigning me was newly renovated. They seem to have spent money on a high tech room, but didn't spend any money on sound proofing. I could hear everyone in the hall and in the room next to mine. It was like staying in a trailer park! Security or housekeeping personnel talked loudly on walkie-talkies, a housekeeper vacuumed and sang before 8 am, and the family next door was incredibly noisy. Not good for such a beautiful place.”

• Being lied to over the phone about accommodations.

“I was not being guaranteed a double bed for 4 people as I needed. I called in to the hotel for 2-double beds. I was told to call back the day before arrival and they would try to accommodate me then. I did as instructed and was told by the hotels' desk clerk that she would go ahead and give us the 2 double bed room. When we arrived we found out differently. I checked in to find that we had a king bed. She continued to say that there was no other options and could only provide a roll-away bed. I angrily took my room card and headed to the room. The room was very small (maybe about 150-200 sq ft) and with a roll-away it even seemed smaller. I also came across another family who said they asked for adjoining rooms 6 months earlier. They were denied as well that request. I am to the belief that any requests are not really taken seriously and they will tell you whatever. I am terribly disappointed in how I was treated.”

“This is a really nice, clean hotel in a great location. We experienced a few problems with our room. We needed rooms with two double/queen beds but they were sold out. Both of our rooms had only king beds (no pullout sofa). Also, both of our rooms were next to the ice machine and laundry facilities. It was very noisy - even during the night. The rooms were smaller than average.”

• The renovations to the rooms are great. The front desk workers were awesome.
• No rooms with double beds were available. Rollaway were unavailable also.

• Could use more luggage.

“We stay at this hotel at least 8 times per year and love it every time. The beds are great and a nice TV. Have only had breakfast but the food was very good. Everything is clean and in working order. If you need a fridge just call and it will be delivered. There is a very unique table in each room that slides out to accommodate diners or card games. The price is very reasonable for a hotel of this quality.”

“Three busloads of teenagers checked in at 10:30 p.m. Despite calling security, they were roaming the halls, pounding on and slamming doors all night long. We spoke to 2 different staff members who seemed indifferent.”

“Small lobby, but attractively decorated. Newly decorated with colorful glass accessories. Rooms very comfortable with plenty of pillows and a nice mattress. Temperature in room was evenly controlled and I felt no dryness from the heat.”

• I like being greeted outside when we arrived. It was very clean in the lobby.
• There was not a microwave in the room.

• Room was tastefully decorated, bed and lines were plush, plasma TV with HD, pleasant, helpful staff always available.
• Fruit, yogurt and granola parfait purchased at breakfast bar was not fresh.

“This 3 star rated hotel has just remodeled their rooms and was comparable to a 4 star hotel in St. Louis that we stayed in the previous night. The pillow top mattress was plush and complete with a down comforter and soft but supportive pillows. The room was clean, the carpet without stains and the plasma TV was awesome - reception was excellent. The staff were friendly and very helpful with directions to attractions in the area. I would highly recommend this hotel and will plan to return again.”

• Nicely remodeled, LDC TV and entertainment connections are very nice, comfortable bed, good quality bedding.
• Fluorescent bulbs in lamps and bathroom too bright, not dimmable, need more HD TV channels, no steam room in pool/sauna area, internet is not free.

“The Marriott did a very nice job remodeling this hotel. It is comfortable, clean, smells new, bedding is top quality, bathroom is somewhat small but just fine and clean, LCD HD flat panel TV is awesome but could use more HD channels and overall a very nice place to stay. Conveniently located in Schaumburg and nice natural view setting of the forest preserve facing the back of the building (West).”

• The distance is far from downtown and not a fun drive.

“I enjoyed the stay and would readily stay here again for the price you can't beat it. The hotel was clean and conveniently located. One trip downtown would be ok for a game or a play but for shopping or sightseeing Chicago I would recommend staying downtown.”
