• Children's room service menu!
• Hotel lounge was closed and couldn't find a working ice machine.

“I have stayed at this particular hotel on many occasions and been pleased. However, they are currently doing some renovations and it's looking a little bit dingy. The Koi Pond in the lobby is usually an attractive feature, but it was partially shut down and portions were dry and portions were just dingy "still" water. Looked trashy. Overall it is looking a bit aged and the lounge is shut down and a temporary "bar" is located in the lobby which is not a comfortable place to relax. I am sure that once renovation is complete it will be a fine place to stay again.”

• Bathroom in room was small, door was damaged, and hair was on shower walls and ceiling.

“We expected more of a three star hotel with the Hyatt name. Overall the beds were comfortable, yet room was small, no view. TV channels were sparse. Bathroom was very small, dirty floor, hair on ceiling and shower walls.”

• Room showed its age. Torn carpet, small bathroom, scuffed walls, etc.

• The bell woman was the best.
• It needs serious updating. I stuck to the carpet in my room.

“I would not stay at the property again unless it was totally renovated. The first room they put me in had such a strong smell of cigarettes and "spray to cover the smell" it was just wrong. They moved me to an "upgraded" room (it was the same room on another floor) and I stuck to the carpet, the bathroom was umber tiny, I had to put a towel on the chair because it was filthy, and I kept on falling into the pit in the bed. This place needs to be gut renovated; even the store in the lobby left this ugly hotel! Instead stay in the Renaissance across the highway, it is beautiful and a true 4 star hotel. This is more like a 2 star.”

• Directly across from Woodfield shopping mall.
• I cannot do it in 20 words or less.

“Changed rooms 3 times before getting an acceptable one. No water pressure in the first two made shower almost impossible, bad sewer gas odor, woke up by construction. Upon checking in (my daughter was with me) I was told I was checking out Saturday. I corrected her saying Friday and she said I was paid through Friday with a departure date of Saturday. Assuming I made an error, I went along with her date. When I returned to my room on Friday evening, after attending a family funeral, my key would not unlock my door. I was then told at the desk that I was to have checked out on Friday. I had to pay for that night. As I am disabled, I parked in a handicap spot. When I went to my car in the morning my spot wasn't even shoveled. I had to climb over what the plow shoved in front of my car. The parking lot was extremely slippery with ice and there was no salt for protection. All in all, my stay at that hotel was very, very poor.”

• The restaurant was awesome.
• Only has an outdoor hot tub.

“The restaurant was awesome. I have never had such a fantastic meal. The chef was very nice and bought our dessert. The only complaint that I have as that there is only an outdoor hot tub and it is outside and closed for the winter.”

• The service was nice, great location.
• The rooms need much work, too pricey for the atmosphere.

“This is not a typical Hyatt stay. You can tell that this did not used to be a Hyatt but that the Hyatt is now redoing much of the rooms. We had to switch rooms due the crack in the ceiling and the unevenness of the floor. The bathrooms were something you would find out a Motel 6 (and probably not as nice). The bed was in a awkward position to the rest of the room. The staff was very pleasant and helpful.”

• Nice location for shopping. We needed to switch rooms and the staff was very accommodating and even offered free breakfast.
• There was an odd (skunk like) odor in our room which worsened the longer we were there.

“Very nice hotel. Very accommodating to our request to change rooms in the middle of the night due to odd odor. Offered free breakfast for any inconvenience we may have experienced.”

“This is an excellently located hotel, adjacent to Woodsfield Mall and IKEA. Numerous shopping and dining opportunities near the hotel. Conveniently located right off the interstate. Hotel could use some remodeling in the rooms, especially in the bathrooms.”

• It is difficult to find parking close to the hotel.

“The lobby is impressive with its seating areas and fish ponds. Our room was very roomy and beautiful with lots of pillows. The bed was very comfortable.”

“Hotel looks to be mostly business travelers. We had a room overlooking the lobby which ended up being extremely noisy, and we were awoken several times. Room was very dated and there was water damage to the ceiling, and the toilet seat was stained which is gross, but bed was comfortable.”

• I liked the location and price of the hotel.
• Housekeeping service was poor, front desk did not explain anything at check in.

“Hotel overall was alright. The rooms did not have anything extra such as refrigerator, microwave, or free internet. Front desk did not explain any amenities at check in or explain any of the hotels. Cleanliness of the hotel was good. Overall it met my needs, but lacked a bit of extras!”

• The lobby area was attractive. The hotel was located across the street from an olive garden.
• Terrible personnel/service. Outrageous cost for food, internet, and coffee. Generic in-room coffee.

“This is an awful hotel! The pool is very cold and not child friendly. (4+ feet deep with only a ladder for entry/exit.) The hot tub is very small and old with a broken hand rail and many loose boards on the deck. The rooms were small, old, odorous, and had black mold on the air vents. (We had 2 rooms and the situation was the same in both.) The in-room coffee was literally only 2 cups and was generic coffee with generic sweeteners. There was also a $9.95 charge for 24 hours of internet service. The restaurants were ridiculously expensive and the food was average. The only good thing about this hotel is the location - it is near Woodsfield mall and an olive garden. I would not recommend this hotel. We travel with our children and this hotel was not child friendly.”

• The room was awesome and the linens on the bed were great too. I also loved the lobby!

“This hotel was very nice and I would recommend it to my family and friends. The room was very clean and was cooled at the right temperature. I can usually tell how well a hotel is by their bathrooms. There's was super except for the spot on the toilet seat. The lobby was fabulous with the water and the sitting area. I will go again!”

“Great hotel located in between Ikea, the Woodsfield Mall, and the outlets - all within walking distance! Excellent experience. We have stayed at this hotel twice now and both times were great!”

• The location was perfect. The beds and bedding were very nice.
• There was a musty odor in some of the halls and lobby areas. We got a wake-up call early the first morning which we did not ask for.

“We were checked in very quickly. The staff member at the front desk was friendly. She accommodated my request for both joining rooms and non-smoking. The rooms were clean and nice size. The air conditioner was very efficient. The beds were firm and the bedding looked fresh and new. The rooms seem to be very well insulated from noise. The fitness and pool areas were clean and well maintained. Fresh towels for workout and pool were always available. We returned in the afternoon to find our room clean, but were never bothered with an early cleaning knock. For the price we paid, it was a great two days. We would stay there again. We enjoyed our stay at The Hyatt.”

“Nice hotel -- however the area had received lots of rain the week before. The first room we were given was very damp and musty smelling. The staff was very accommodating and quickly moved to another room which was fine. Overall the stay was nice mostly due to the great staff!”

• The size of the room was much more than expected.
• The mattress needed changing out, time for new ones.

“Overall experience with this hotel was excellent. Two things that would have made this hotel 4 star quality. New Mattresses, especially since I had to read about the all new pillow top mattresses in the hotel catalog, and the carpet could have used a shampooing. A few stains, nothing major. The staff was very helpful and did everything within their power to make the stay more enjoyable. We required a refrigerator and they had us one within ten minutes.”

• The location of this hotel was in a great area.

• The lobby atmosphere is fantastic. Open airy during the day and warm/inviting in the evenings.
• Assistance with loading and unloading luggage is missing. The pool was dirty.

“Overall I liked the atmosphere of this hotel. It is geared toward the business clientele which is great for me because I do not enjoy the noise/confusion associated with family-oriented hotels. It's in a great location. They do need to work on staff friendliness and hospitality.”

• Prairie-style decor was pleasant.
• Somewhat dark, no life, room views of roof, damp atmosphere.

“This is a perfectly acceptable 3 star hotel in the Woodfield mall area. It's across the street from the mall, so you have to take your car there. Many of the rooms overlook either the lobby or the roof, due to the strange design of the 4 towers. The room was really damp, like the a/c wasn't working properly. The lobby was pretty dark and seemed lifeless. I wouldn't hate to stay here again but next time I hope I get another hotel with hopes its better.”

• Slow and expensive internet access.

“I stayed in this hotel on 2 different nights in 2 different rooms and both had the same problem. It costs $9.95 to get internet access and it was slow! At certain times during my stays, the internet was running at 56K (modem speed) for hours at a time. Not a good value for $9.95 a night. The lobby was nice, but the carpets in the hallways were old and stained. The bed was nice and it's convenient to the places I needed to go.”

• Very comfortable beds with lots of pillows and a comforter instead of a polyester bedspread.
• Elevator to rooms was a long way from the door, not good when toting luggage and small children.

“Beautiful lobby, beautiful room. Very comfortable beds too. Fixtures in bathroom were a little old and worn but perfectly serviceable. The walk to the elevator from the parking lot door was long and not a luggage cart in sight, which made it hard to tote in my kids and my luggage. My kids loved the pool where you could get in inside then swim under the glass partition to the outside pool.”

• The location of the hotel and my normal experience there was good.
• My hotel room was not clean and when I contacted the front desk, nothing was done.

“I'm very disappointed with this Hyatt and their staff's lack of concern over a room that was left with soda cans, water bottles, news papers and used soap behind after cleaning. I called the front desk and they committed to sending a person to refresh the room. This person never came.”
