• Clean comfortable room and comfy beds.
• Got placed on smoking floor first night- yikes! No hot tub.

“This is a nice, clean hotel. It does lack some of the things we typically expect- like a hot tub in the pool area. Pool was clean and warm, but relatively small. Location is great. Near the mall, IKEA, and lots of dining options. Easy highway access.”

• Room was over very loud garbage area.

“This was a good choice for a Spring Break shopping trip with my daughter. However, the room selection could have been better as the room was located just above a loud garbage loading area.”

• Close proximity to restaurants, shopping.
• No hot tub.

“The hotel was in a great location, close to many restaurants and excellent shopping facilities. The room had a new Sharp Aquos high-definition flat screen TV in the room, which was excellent. The hotel had a large size indoor heated swimming pool but no hot tub. There was also not a breakfast provided with the room but you could go downstairs and eat in their restaurant or order room service.”

• Nice bathroom, shower could use updating, poor lighting in bath. Nice room, comfy bed. Nice exercise room.
• No free internet, Pool not that great, no trolley to the mall.

“Nice hotel, pretty room, comfortable bed, dark yet nice bathroom, Iron works and not rusty, not a great pool, no transportation to the mall, which is why many travelers stay there (excluding business) INTERNET IS $12 +/- A DAY!”

• The guest room was comfortable and was attractively furnished.
• The hotel was located in an industrial park and basically lacked curb appeal. It had no amenities.

“The hotel was great but we might have enjoyed a pool or other such facility. Normally I Map quest the directions on my own but this time clicked on your button because of the convenience. One critical point along the way the directions lacked an East or West direction and we simply had to guess. We guessed wrong and figured it out in a few miles when the mile markers weren't going in the right direction. We called the hotel and they did their best to get us pointed in the right direction.”

“Nice place, however, for the business traveler, they need that business & finance TV channel. Also, it is a real turn off to have to pay $9.99 just to check your Emails.”

“This hotel is in a good location, it's clean, the staff is friendly, and they do have a restaurant. But they also charge for Internet access, they do not provide free breakfast, and the pool isn't very nice. So I can't give it a great rating because of those deficiencies. It is definitely not a 3-star hotel.”

• The room was huge and clean and very nice. Bed linens were superb.
• A $9.95 charge for internet access. I would not stay here again because of this.

“Loved the hotel. The room was huge. It was clean and the bed linens were really nice! I did order a refrigerator when we checked in for $5. When we arrived back at our room late that night, they had not brought it so I cancelled it, since it would take hours to get cool. I also was disappointed to have to pay $9.95 for internet access. I thought that was outrageous and I would not stay here again just for this reason. Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel.”

• Very comfortable bed-bedding. Nice large towels. Easy coffeemaker. Great flat screen TV.
• The hotel movie system was having trouble--jumpy picture on screen.

“This hotel is in a good location and it's clean. The staff is reasonably friendly. But this is definitely a "no-frills" hotel. It should not have a 3-star rating. Maybe 2.5 stars at best.”

“I was pleasantly surprised. For the amount we paid, we got a wonderful room with a huge, comfortable bed and a flat screen TV and free wireless internet. We checked in at 4 am with no problems. I thought it was great.”

• Shower. I was too tall and there was no bathtub.

“Great hotel, and great business location. Upgraded amenities. Showers may be a bit small for taller people but everything was very clean. Great LCD TV. Bed was super comfortable and clean.”

• Bed was extremely comfortable!
• The room was combination of old and new.

“The doubletree was a very comfortable hotel to stay at. The beds were fantastic (probably the best I have ever slept in at a hotel!), TV was modern and large with a swivel for easy viewing, bathroom had a huge vanity (which we loved) and the workout facility was small but the equipment was updated and easy to use. I had a great workout! I would recommend The Doubletree to others and plan on staying there again myself.”

• Housekeepers allowing their children to ransack guest rooms.

“This hotel started with a bang - with the signature warm chocolate chip cookies that doubletree is known for - and went downhill very fast-after leaving the do not disturb sign out on our first full day, we received a poorly photocopied note apologizing for the lack of service that our room received. The note looked more suited for a Motel 6 than a Doubletree. The following day, we did some sightseeing in the city, but left the DND sign in the room, hoping for a fresh set of towels. Upon our return at approximately 3:45 p.m., our room had not been touched. We called the front desk and asked for housekeeping. The housekeeper came up to the room after a fashion and - despite our indication that we just needed towels - made motions as if she was planning to clean the entire room. We finally communicated that we just needed the towels, and as she departed our room, she left the door propped open and her cart outside the front of the room.”

• No wifi access. An upscale hotel should offer that gratis.

“Great experience overall. The only glaring shortcoming was the lack of wifi access. Any of those calibers should offer free wifi access or at least wired access. A $10 fee for internet access is crazy.”

• Lights in room inadequate, did not like complimentary continental breakfast and we wanted to eat quick, have coffee & leave, no place to sit.

• Loved their service. Top notch all around.
• Nothing. It was really nice.

“Top notch hotel. It was the quickest check in I ever experienced and there were 2 people in front of me. Close to OHare but not too close to hear planes all night. Amazing service. Made the error of leaving my 2 years old favorite blanket after checking out. They found it and mailed it with no questions or embarrassment. Again great customer service all around. The bed was also super comfortable with great down pillows.”

• Its a newer upscale hotel in a nice area.
• The roof leaked over the pool.

“Great hotel great experience. We had two packages that had been left at the front desk for us. They remembered to give us only one. The next day the person that left them noticed we only had one. We then had to call the front desk to find out they had goofed up. Everything else was very nice. I would recommend this hotel, and I will stay there again.”
