• Wonderful bedding, enjoyed the pool, good TV, convenient access.
• No free WIFI. In today's world, this seems like a given, especially at a 3 star.

• No brochures of things to do in the area.

“My wife and I went to this hotel for a night away from the kids. It was about 150 miles away and it was worth the trip. There's lots of shopping and good places to eat in the area. The hotel is within a mile or two from the Wood field Mall and other places of interest.”

• The staff was friendly and helpful, gave us warm chocolate chip cookies on arrival.
• Nothing to complain about at all!

“The staff was friendly and helpful, greeting us pleasantly and giving us warm chocolate-chip cookies upon checking in. The room was nicely-appointed with large soft towels and good-quality toiletries. We slept-in on Saturday with a "do not disturb" sign on the door and the housekeeping staff left us a note offering clean towels or other services if we desired.”

• Staff was always friendly and helpful, and the cookies were nice.
• It was a great experience, no complaints.

“My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights. The bed was comfortable, room was clean, staff was courteous. It was easy to get anywhere (Woodsfield Mall, IKEA, etc), and there was easy Interstate access. We had a great time.”

• Very Clean, Nice in-room furnishings, friendly staff.
• I was surprised to find that the internet access was a $10 per day add on.

“This is a very nice, conveniently located hotel with good staff. I enjoyed my stay here. The only negative was the extra $10 cost per day for internet access in the rooms. Even the cheapest of hotels can offer free wireless in-room internet access. This was like a paper cut to me. Small issue, but it bugged me my whole stay.”

• Convenient location, nice for the price.
• Lengthy complex public transportation to downtown.

“Great for the price, friendly and nice staff, room and services were excellent, good location and decent proximity to downtown Chicago via personal vehicle, to avoid confusion would recommend personal transportation, also with personal transportation proximity and convenience to downtown area/attractions is not too difficult (practically interstate from door to downtown).”

• No hot tub in the pool area, bathroom had shower only no tub.

• Remodeled room with flat panel TV and very quiet.
• The bathtub needs to be replaced and pillows too soft.

“Great hotel with newer rooms. Everything looked new in the room, except the bathtub - didn't make any sense. Pillows need to be a bit harder. Needs an arcade to pass time when nothing to do. Locations is excellent and very quiet.”

• Charge for use wireless. Needs to be free for business traveler.

• Staff was great, price was excellent, location was ok.
• I was missing refrigerator in room and safe. But the staff help me as much as they could.

“Not bad for the money. Its a hotel where you sleep and eat their breakfast for $10. If I remember correctly I bit on hotel 3 stars and I don't think this was a 3 star hotel. We didn't pay for parking which was great.”

• I stayed for 4 days on the last day there was no hot water. It was not turned on even when I checked out at 7a.m.

• The TV remote did not work. But the time we were in the room we did not need it.

“Great location. Greeted promptly by a very professional employee, yet he was personable. He suggested room service (because we arrived late) and the restaurant was very accommodating. The express check-out was fantastic. Great room and very pretty decor. Great TV and coffee maker.”

• It was easy to find off of the Interstate, and centrally located to every where we wanted to go.
• Did not have in-room refrigerators, and not enough free cable stations (sports, movies).

“As this was our first time, we were quite surprised that the question of whether we needed a non-smoking room. Due to this we ended up into a smoking room, and due to hotel was fully booked, we were unable to switch to another room. But the hotel did offer to spray the room immediately upon check in. The friendly staff did help out in many other ways during our stay. As we only stayed one night, we did not dine in their restaurant (prices a little on the high end for our travel budget), but the hotel was conveniently located near a grocery store and target store, so we ate inexpensive breakfasts in our room after all. It would have been nice to have maybe an in-room refrigerator to keep our drinks cold, but the hotel did supply ice. Overall, it was a pleasant surprise, this hotel would definitely be a plus accommodation for a business traveler.”

“Hotel in great location, clean place, attentive friendly staff. Not flexible on putting a non-smoker into a non smoking room. I have been to this hotel on six separate occasions, and put in a smoking room (as a non smoker) four times. The smell is very offensive!”

• Movie channels were messed up, coffee maker did not work, and Smokey.

“We could not get out of our smoking room. Therefore we were very uncomfortable. It was very Smokey in the evenings. When we got home all of our stuff smelled like smoke. Internet was $10 bucks for the room each day, no free breakfast. Our coffee maker did not work and it took two days to get that straightened out so we got coffee only one morning. I want to be assured that I will not get stuck in a smoking room again.”

• The cookie I got when I checked in that's it.
• Blood on curtains and mattress, requested 2 beds in a non smoking room & had to chose between 1 bed or a smoking room.

“This hotel was a nightmare. I made my reservation almost a month in advance. When I arrived they check us in and never mentioned we weren't getting the 2 beds we requested. When we opened the door there was one bed. I went to look at the room w/ double beds- it smelled awful and there was blood stains on the curtains and the bed matress. So we headed back down to the first room w/ one bed and had the cot brought up. The curtains in this room were also stained and there is no fan in the bathroom. I felt terrible because I had made the reservation and everyone was totally grossed out. Hoping to redeem myself I offered to take everyone to breakfast the next day. The hotel breakfast was awful the buffet items looked like they had been sitting there for 24 hours and the menu items were just indivdual servings of the food from the buffet another disaster. I will not go back to this hotel again.”

• Staff was never at the desk. Always had to yell for them.

“If you're looking for a basic place to stay, with an easy entry and exit, and a comfortable bed this is it. But, I've stayed here three times, and can tell you the highlights are the bed, free Wall Street Journal, warm cookies, and that's it. The staff make no attempt to be at the desk to greet you. The hotel has free Wi-Fi - if you want to sit on the only couch across from the check-in desk. In the room it will cost you $9.95 for a 24 hour connection, yet, down the block there is free wi-fi at the McDonald's or even IKEA! Try to use the dial-up to get around paying $9.95 forget about it! The call cost 0.75 and at the hour mark the hotel considers it long distance and hits you for 7 bucks plus minutes which surpass the $9.95! Look forward to the cleaning people vacuuming and throwing garbage in the dumpster below the rooms about 5AM wake-up! Plus the hotel is just plain loud, slamming doors, thin walls, and no attempt by the staff to spread people through the hotel. The parking lot is small and close, which I like, but at night it's dark and unsafe beware. All in all, because of the luck of the draw, we stayed here three times - with every experience the same. Oh, did I mention the peeling paint in the shower, and masking tape covering the exposed rust/metal by the tub drain! We'll opt for a location close to Schaumburg, IL next time.”

“I was disappointed that I had to accept a smoking floor, when it was obvious the hotel was not fully booked. Additionally, I was upset that the staff people did not go out of their way to provide quality customer service. I asked to be relocated due to a crying child and the response I received was they would call the room and tell them to have the child stop crying. Evidently, this person doesn't have children and I was just as concerned that the noise from my room didn't disturb the child while sleeping. I also inquired about the location of a local food establishment and was told the restaurant was not opened and I later went out and found the location on my own and it was indeed opened. So much for a helpful front desk.”

• Rooms were great and staff very helpful.
• Security needs to be improved in parking areas. Mine and 7 other vehicles broken into.

“This is a very nice value. The hotel rooms are very comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. Make sure that if you bring your car that you do not leave electronics in the vehicle and clean off the windshield. There were 8 cars broken into including my own in the parking lot. They need security cameras or a security guard at nights.”

• Lobby was too small to meet with anyone.

“I would strongly suggest this hotel to any traveler who was not going to use the hotel facilities to impress business clients or hold meetings there. The entrance area is much too small and conveys practicality versus comfort. Excellent economical choice as upscale, comfortable place to stay.”
