• Location.
• Run-down. Terrible bartender service. Torn drapes. Shabby.

“This hotel had terrible bar service. The bartender was expected to bartend and serve food. He told use right from the get-go that it would be awhile before he could take our order. It took over 20 minutes to get 2 drinks. The privacy/black-out curtains in the room had many tears in it. The hotel was shabby and in much need of updating.”

• Very conveniently located right off of I-88.
• Beds seemed old, kind of sagging.

“Great location right off of the Reagan Tollway in Naperville. Many restaurants nearby. Has a nice bar and restaurant in house. The only thing negative was the mattresses could use some updating.”

• It was very clean and neat. In a great location.
• There was a fire on Sunday morning in the kitchen. No provisions made for our inconvenience.

“There was a small fire in the kitchen on Sunday morning. We were awakened by a fire alarm. It was 47 degrees outside. Everyone was in pjs. Some people didnt have shoes on. It was a huge inconvenience and the hotel did not offer late check out to us or any way of showing concern for our inconvenience.”

• Great location. Lobby was very attractive.
• The bathroom was dirty (hair) and the floor was very, very sticky.

“All in all, it was a fair experience. I couldn't walk in the bathroom without shoes on because my feet would stick to the floor. The bathroom was not clean at all. The tub soap dish was dirty and there was quite a bit of hair. We asked the person who checked us in to give us an estimated amount of time it would take to get to our destination in the morning. At first, he estimated 2 hours which seemed completely outrageous to us. He shortened it to an hour. It only took 25 minutes. It would have been more helpful for him to just say he didn't know then we might have been able to get correct info.”

• Location was easy to find, bedding, pillow and mattress were sleazy!
• Sheets were like gauze, blanket sleazy, pillows lumpy.

“The location was excellent as we had meetings in Naperville and Wheaton. Lobby and restaurant were fine. I lost two nights sleep here the two nights we stayed due to inferior bedding quality. Sheets like gauze, lumpy pillows, and inferior mattress.”

• The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

“This hotel was exceptional for it's price level. The staff was courteous and professional and my room was spacious and clean. The restaurant offered many options and meals were prepared well. Two things lacking a closet and safe.”

• Clean, friendly, close to highways and downtown.
• Bed was not that comfortable, pipes in the bathroom were really loud.

“We enjoy staying in this hotels. The beds aren't that fantastic, but better than cheap hotels. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. Our room this time had awful pipes in the bathroom. Every time we flushed the toilet, it made an ear piercing squeak throughout the wall! It was terrible. However, the rest of our stay was pleasant and we will stay here again.”

• The lobby was nice, friendly staff and good location with plenty of parking.
• The bed was extremely old and seemed like a cheap one to begin with.

“The hotel is very clean, friendly staff and in a decent location right off the highway. We could hear the plumbing next door but it didn't keep us up. The decor and bed are very old and more like a 2* quality hotel. They really need to update and get new beds. Overall, the hotel was fine though as it was clean and friendly. Plus, it's free WiFi in the room which is what we needed.”

• I appreciated the location, cleanliness, and accessibility.
• Being placed at the end of the hallway, the fitness center, and signage for fitness center.

“For the most part, this hotel was well worth my stay there. I stayed several nights as I was working in the Chicago area, and it was definitely comfortable, clean, and in a great location. I wasn't impressed with the fitness center at all, nor was I impressed with signage for getting around the hotel. It seemed to need a few updates, but overall it was a good stay.”

• The decor of the rooms was showing its age. Upgrade shower mechanicals and new comforter on bed.

“The hotel is showing its age but is clean, well run and maintained. The shower worked fine but need updating. The mattress seemed old and too soft for my liking. The bed comforter was clean but needed updating. All in all, it was not a bad place to stay for business travel.”

“The Holiday Inn Select in Naperville was probably an upscale hotel during the Regan administration. It is in dire need of a top to bottom renovation and updating of bathrooms, TV's, furniture EVERYTHING. I wished that I stayed at a Hampton Inn or a Courtyard by Marriott.”

• The beds were horrible!

“Overall the hotel was ok. The beds were terrible but the room was clean and the public areas were clean. The staff was not very friendly and gave me the wrong receipt upon checkout, I needed it for reimbursement information and when I called to request another they told me they could not give me another one. I would not book this hotel again for my family, but for business purposes a quick trip it's ok.”

• The clean, nicely decorated public areas.
• Room is in need of updating.

“The room had 2 double beds that did not look inviting. Bedspread on one bed had burn hole. Luggage bench was soiled. Bathroom sink had water temps reversed. Shower head was very low and tub had excess caulking which looked tacky. Workout facility needs fan. Pool looked inviting and staff was very friendly.”

• Room service said 50 minutes and took 65 - nearly made me late.

• I loved getting woke up at 6:30AM due to a fire alarm after going to bed at 12:30AM.
• Cum stains on the desk chair; nice.

“This seems like an old hotel that was probably something else till it got worn out, now its run by Holiday Inn and they didn't put any money into the property. Surprise, surprise. Things like working treadmills. Yes the fire alarm did go off at 6:30AM and did not stop until 6:56, long after the fire trucks had pulled away.”

“I travel quite a bit to this locale. It poorly under performs the category and belongs to be significantly downgraded. While the on-site amenities would appear to be complete, the hotel has extremely dated rooms and dirty bathrooms and the worst beds I have slept in for a long time. I usually win a room at a Hyatt, Marriott or Wyndham for this area and this hotel is far below those in quality. At best, this hotel is a two star.”

• I liked the location and the lobby area and the toiletries.
• This hotel is dated and needs new carpets, bedding and bathrooms.

“This hotel has an almost upscale feel to it but just misses. It is obviously a 70's/80's era hotel and it shows. Look closely and you see deterioration. The room carpets are too worn and stained, the walls need paint and the pool/game room are too small. Also, the "business" center has one computer that you have to pay for to access the internet, if you swipe a credit/debit card, it automatically charges you $78 then refunds you for the actual amount of time you used, but the refund won't show on your account for at least 3-5 days! I would stay here again and would rank it above most moderate hotels, but I would like to see it refurbished.”

• It was convenient.
• It was loud, dirty and little help from management to control this.

“This was a poor hotel. The first night they had 23% occupancy, but placed us in a small room that adjoined another. We heard the conversation the entire night (all about the guns they had there). We moved for the second night. We were awakened after midnight 4 times by screaming children running up and down the hall unsupervised. When we complained, nothing was done. I was upset that we were "upgraded" to a 3 star. I would have been much happier at a 2 1/2 which in my experience are better built and have a free breakfast. ”

• I had a very large room.
• The strong smell of food in the morning in the lobby.

“The only thing I used the hotel for was sleeping. It was very quiet, so that made it perfect. I can't comment on anything else about the facilities.”

• Thin walls. Not a 3 star hotel.

“The walls were thin and I could hear the TV in the room next to me late into the night. The front desk did get them to turn it down but it costs me sleep. The hotel was ok. ”
