“Hotel is on the low end. It's location is awkward to get into and out of. Room was quiet, bed comfortable, clean. I do prefer to have a door that exits to a hallway rather than the outside.”

• The location gives you easy-access to numerous restaurants and stores.
• It was dirty.

“I've stayed at here before, and it was wonderful This time around, it was really disappointing. There were ashes and pubic hair on the floor of our non-smoking room's bathroom. The dirty floors made our socks black. One day housekeeping completely skipped our room, and for no reason (the "do not disturb" sign was sitting on the TV, so it wasn't like we requested they skip us). The bottom of the bathtub was a grayish-black color, and you had to practically be Houdini to get the hairdryer to work. There were blood stains on the underside of the bedspread, and a few spots on the sheets.”

“Good location. Bed and bathroom seems clean. But I still do not feel very clean which I do not know why. My previous stay at Fairfield at same street two months ago, I do not have to check out everywhere and felt clean there.”

• The second room was brand new.
• The afternoon staff was rude and unhelpful the 1st room I was in was extremely dirty.

“The first room I was in on the left side of the office was disgusting, there was garbage on the bed along with hair and dirt, no blankets, the floor was dirty, the telephone did not work, and the TV was just for looks there was no remote control and it would not turn on. The front desk person when I checked in was very rude and was reluctant to move me into a nicer room (it seemed that I was an inconvenience to her). On a brighter note the rooms to the right of the office must have been brand new. The rooms were freshly cleaned with extra blankets and extra pillows, it was a very comfortable nights sleep. The young lady at check out was very nice and seemed to truly be concerned about my experience.”

• Everything they had a bad attitude.

“Got there at 3 pm; no rooms were clean yet; the maid had an attitude that she had to get to work; then a 1-inch gap of the door jam let cold air in so; I had to use a towel to fix that; bed hard as a rock and toilet always ran and the heat from the window unit. If I could do a back charge on my credit card I would. Dont stay here.”

• Comfortable bed, lots of water pressure in the shower, and a spacious room with a huge desk!
• It's on an access road that is a little confusing. Once you go down it several times, it makes sense though.

“After staying in a La Quinta in Charleston, SC, and being completely dissatisfied and disgusted, I was dreading staying here. But, after I was given this room by naming my own price, my stay here was GREAT! There wasn't a spec of dirt in the room- not even in the shower. It was, by far, the most comfortable bed I've ever had in a hotel. The shower was wonderful, and had great water pressure, there was a comfortable recliner in the room, and it was spacious- we weren't cramped at all. Each member of the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, and even helped me put ice in our cooler. After this experience, I will most likely pay the higher price to stay here in the future. I was REALLY impressed!”

• Continental Breakfast was excellent, service excellent.
• Asked for handicapped room, was told non were available, husband had recent back surgery and had to walk up the stairs.

“I would recommend this hotel for a short stay. The continental breakfast was excellent, and the staff was very helpful, filled empty foods immediately when needed with a smile.”

“Excellent value for the location and a short trip when sleeping is all you need the hotel for. Many restaurants and shops in surrounding area and not far to historic Mobile and excellent dining.”

• Recently remodeled interiors - very pleasant.
• Breakfast was subpar.

“Interior rooms were quiet and very nice. Furniture was a little subpar (desk was wobbly) but bed was comfortable. The breakfast was described on their website as deluxe continental - not sure what made it deluxe in their minds. Most hotels offer yogurt for breakfast - they did not. Access to the hotel is difficult for anyone not familiar with Mobile's strange access roads off the main roads. They should better describe directions to and from the hotel. Staff was not familiar with or would not give recommendations for local restaurants.”

• Bed was pretty awful - could feel the coils.

“An okay hotel. We had no wireless and, most of the time, no TV. Staff alleged it was due to weather (rain). Front desk could not tell me how to get closed caption off TV, but staff was friendly. I'd give this a 1-1/2 star rating.”

“I think them needs to fix their bathroom and restrooms. Also, stop charge people when they had a zero balance. They did refund my money after I call them but I will not go there or recommend anybody to there.”

“The rooms are the cleanest I have seen in a long time. The bathroom was clean as well. The staff was friendly and polite. We had a non-smoking room and it truly was a non-smoking room. It had a fresh clean smell. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.”

• I can't think of anything good.
• Hotel staff were not-friendly.

“I had a very bad experience at this La Quinta. The staff told me the pool was empty for renovations. I walk by and it was occupied by a private party. The non-smoking room had a very bad odor of smoke. The next room they gave us had a non-working phone, mold, gum on the headboard, and musty odor etc. I have a long list. Very disappointed with this hotel.”

• They put us in a handicap room which we did not need and it was not user friendly more annoying.

• Parking is very tight and gives the hotel a congested feel.

“The location of this laquinta is great with easy access to I-65 and I-10.The room was clean and basic. Room needed some minor repairs and this room served my purpose for a short business trip, but would not be used for a family stay of any length of time. Staff met all my needs and the continental breakfast was basic but good.”

“I kept in touch with this hotel (called three different times), informing them that I would be arriving late, and they said there would not be a problem. When I got there, the lady behind the desk said she had already closed our ticket out and I didn't have a room. So when we finally got a room, the first room she sent us to, there were dirty bedspreads and sheets in the floor and a box of trash in the bathroom. We went back up front, she sent us to another room, and neither of the keys worked. At that point I was really frustrated, called the front desk, and she came and opened the door with another key. ”

• I was impressed with the initial appearance of the room.
• The mattresses were very uncomfortable.

“The beds were not completely made. I alerted the hotel staff the evening we checked in. They said the maid must have forgot. They gave us a key card with another guest name on it. I brought that to their attention also that evening. They assured me that no one else was registered in our room. I did not check the shower until the next morning. There was used soap and shampoo in the shower/tub. When I told the front desk person she offered me a credit for the room and told me to contact you. On top of that we were given a smoking room and never asked our preference. We don't smoke.”

• The front desk staff was friendly, attentive and quick.
• The odor of the room was awful, and safety was a major concern.

“Upon entering out room we found a note from hotel management that there had been a recent rash of burglaries to hotel rooms, mostly while guests were asleep. It said to lock the doors, so when my wife went to lock the door we found the lock had been ripped off. We called down and got a new "non-smoking" room. We moved over and the room reeked of smoke. It was already 1am so we decided to deal with it. Also the toilet in the new room ran all night; there was no way to stop it without shutting off the water. This hotel was far below standards, even for a 2 star room.”

• Substandard, the breakfast was all gone by 8:00 am. The rooms seem to be run down and need to be redone.
