“The hotel was clean and the amenities were decent. However the price I paid verses the quality of the establishment I feel as if I was ripped off!”

• The food at breakfast was pretty picked over by 8 am.

• Close to town and generally clean.
• The bath towels were very small and very thin and only two were provided in the room.

“What you'd expect from a roadside hotel. Rooms were clean. Pool/hot tub area was clean and towels were provided there. Because the hotel was full this weekend, the small breakfast area was crowded. The breakfast ok but nothing special.”

• Staff gave us a room with a double bed instead of a king size bed.

“Wanted to charge us $45 more because they gave us a 2 double beds instead of a king size bed. I told them we wanted and paid for a king size and they wouldn't move us. I asked why charge us more? We want the king size and it is just my wife and I staying. We would get back to the room at night and would be unable to open the door because they wanted an extra $ 45. I didn't like the hassle.”

• Beds not very comfortable.

“The hotel was booked to capacity, and the air conditioning went out during the middle of the night. The hotel was OK but the pool area, breakfast, and bedding was acceptable but far from memorable. I think the hotel could very easily upgrade their pool ventilation and towels. Adding fruit to their breakfast assortment would improve that. Replacing their mattresses would improve a lot also. In general it was convenient and clean. There are several fast food places across the street. It is too close to the highway and construction for my preference but it was available.”

• The bathroom was very dirty.

“I knew that this was not a luxury hotel, but I did expect at least a clean bathroom. The tub was so bad that we showered with our shoes on. Also, the rim around the toilet was not very clean and there was hair on the floor when we got there. On a good note though the staff was very nice and helpful.”

• It was convenient.
• Had available rooms with double beds but would charge an extra $10. Towels were shabby and threadbare.

“My major complaint is based on the fact that they gave me a King size bed room despite the fact that they had rooms available with double beds. I would have had to pay any additional $10 a night for 3 nights in order to get a room with double beds.”

• Was charged $20 two hold a non-smoking room with 2 beds.

“The place was adequate, but the additional charge was both outrageous and unnecessary. We will not stay at any hotel in this chain again, and didn't help enforce the contract, we will not use.”

• Quality of break fast is poor and minimal number of items.

“Rooms are big and furnished fine with old furniture. It has a small swimming pool and hot tub. Quality of breakfast is very poor and less number of choices.”

• Quiet, ample free parking, pool and hot were in close proximity.
• Out-of-date TV (no video connectors for games).

“Free breakfast is good with kids. Pastries, fruit, cereals, juice, coffee, milk, (make your own) waffles. Clean room with desk and office task chair, large lounge chair with ottoman, dinette table with two chairs, older TV, ample drawer space, ironing board with iron, and hair dryer. No restaurant on site. Microwave in the breakfast area. Vending machines. Plenty of fast food places nearby.”

• They did not clean my room, make bed, no clean towels.

“My room was not cleaned. I got back late evening and they said they would put me in a different room. All I wanted was to go to bed not have the inconvenience of MOVING. I requested a refund or discount but have not heard from them. Your assistance would be appreciated.”

• It appeared to be run by one small family. Room was not cleaned, had to get own towels, desk clerk constantly on phone.

• Clean easy access to Illinois State University.
• Symbols showed no swimming pool or spa but they had one.

“It was a clean hotel. However, the symbols showed no swimming pool or spa and we did not pack our swimsuits. Upon our arrival we found a swimming pool and spa there. I was greatly disappointed since I try to take advantage of a hotel with these features.”

“Did not accommodate whatsoever to our request for a non-smoking room the day we arrived. He was going to charge an extra fee for the change. Bad business practices there and I will never stay there again. Completely dissatisfied.”

• Absolutely nothing.
• The hotel was dirty, the staff was cheap, and the location was horrible.

“For starters, the hotel was in a poverty stricken area of Bloomington. Only a few blocks away, houses were boarded up or condemned. Across the street was a sleezy truck stop, filled with truckers and vagrants. I had to accompany my wife everywhere because she did not feel safe. Secondly, the hotel was dirty. The bathtub had hair in it that wasn't ours, and there were bugs in it, as well. There were also bugs in the corners of the room. We bought sheets at a local discount store because we didn't feel like the bed was clean either. Third, the continental breakfast was poor. The food tasted stale, and there was little selection, not even fresh fruit. Fourth, the staff was rude and cheap. They didn't greet us as we walked through the lobby. One guy was sitting at the desk with no shoes and his feet up. The vending machine wasn't full, and the halls and lobby weren't even air conditioned it was VERY hot. Next time, I think I'll pay more and get a hotel that is, at the very least, liveable.”

• Front desk employee was very polite!
• Air conditioning was not on in the room nor in the hallways.

“Nice hotel. Bathtub was fairly scuffed up. Overall the room was clean and comfortable. It was over 90 degrees that day and the A/C was not on in the hallways nor in the room when we arrived after 9 p.m. It was inconvenient to be in a HOT hotel room waiting for it to cool down!”

• The room was close to the entrance, large bathroom, quick checkout.
• Room reaked of cigeratte smoke, shower smelled like mildew, limited parking.

“Unfortunately, a non-smoking room was not available, and the smoking room reaked of smoke enough to make even a smoker sick. The shower smelled like mildew. There were not enough parking spots in the evening upon returning to the hotel. No regular coffee available in the morning.”
