• Clean, quiet, close to expressway, and was inexpensive.
• No mini-fridge.

“If you want a quiet place to sleep while traveling for business or just visiting nearby Starved Rock state park, this is a good place. Nothing fancy but it's clean and the pool is okay too. There's a hot tub as well. I'd go back. Lots of popular stores nearby in a good neighborhood.”

• Facility was new and very clean.
• I had no issues with the hotel.

“The staff was very helpful and friendly. The facility was new or newly remodeled because it smelt like fresh carpet, which is always pleseant. The bed was comfy. We did not use the pool even though we had planned on doing so it was a little small.”

• Make-it-yourself Belgian waffles on the breakfast bar were a very nice surprise
• I would have preferred a comfortable chair in the room but the table and chairs were nice

“Moderately priced restaurants were in walking distance of the motel. Comfortable beds with an assortment of pillows made for a good night's sleep. The room was quite comfortable and the hotel was a short distance (approx. 6.5 miles) from Starved Rock Park.”

“My mother and I stay at this hotel several nights during a year. The location is good for us. The staff is always helpful and friendly. We love the free breakfast. There is always a good selection of food. The pool and hot tub are nice. We are very satisfied customers.”

• Clean, well located.
• Slow internet, problem at check in over my card.

“The hotel is located next to Red Lobster and IHOP, steak n shake. Hotel was very clean and was quiet for a Friday night. Easy to get into and out of lot.”

• They provided a extremely nice continental breakfast.
• They seemed resistant to change room to a King bed from the reserved 2 Queen room.

• Front desk lady was nice.
• It ain't the MGM grand in Vegas.

“Clean, hallway kind of stunk but I think it used to be a smoking floor so okay. Room service tried to come in at 9:00 AM when we were still sleeping, what the hell was that about, we were checking out in a couple hours anyway. I would stay there again though.”

• The hotel staff was excellent, the housekeeper was extremely helpful and the facility was very clean.
• I didn't find anything that I didn't like.

“The desk clerks were very helpful; the housekeeper was very friendly and attentive to our needs. It was more than a 2-star hotel stay to me and my girls really enjoyed it as well.”

• Free wireless internet.
• All was good.

“Great place to stay and we were very comfy in this place. The TV has aux. Jacks to plug in a DVD player so thats a plus for us. The free wireless internet was great also. This was by a lot of restaurants and shopping centers. It was also in a very safe place. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.”

• Great location, nice pool hot tub area open late as well.
• Seemed like the toilet had a slight leak. The floor in bathroom was partially wet in the morning.

• The room was one of the most beautiful I've ever stayed in.
• The hot tub was so dirty that we wouldn't get in it.

“The Fairfield Inn is conveniently located near the Interstate and near many restaurants and shopping. It has beautifully appointed rooms. The staff is friendly and helpful. The included breakfast makes this hotel an even better deal.”

• It was in walking distance from the restaurants near by. Beds were big and comfy. Slept like a baby.
• That's a hard one. There wasn't anything that I didn't like.

“The staff was friendly and helpful. I talked to the cleaning staff, and they spoke English and were helpful in giving directions. The room was clean and they have a nice pool area.”

• The cost is a little high but it is ok.

“Perfectly situated right off of i-80 and not a dive interstate-type hotel. It was reasonably clean, well-maintained. The pool area was nice and the separate breakfast room was nicely done.”

• Uncomfortable bed.

“Lots of fire code and safety violations. I am a fire marchall and pointed these safety issues out to the management and the blew me off and have done noting. So I am following up with the state fire marshal. Safety should come first for all of your customers.”

• I have enjoyed using it for about 10 years now. An ideal itinerant stop hotel.
• No discernible highway advertising alerting travelers to its existence or location. I know it's there because I discovered it long ago.

“It's attractive, reasonable in its rates for the quality offered, well run by properly friendly and security aware management, great rooms, good beds, quality choice of in-room TV and appliances, elevator serviced floors, handy swimming pool open during usable hours, a very good breakfast, handy parking and is located near the Interstate 80 highway. Inviting restaurants available nearby. Easy access back onto the highway.”

• Convenient location. Front Desk help was great!
• Maid only made up half the room, half the time. One sock on bed? She wouldn't touch it.

• 5 down/feather pillows on each bed says it all!
• No steps into the pool. The ladder was not steady. Too hard to get out.

“I was very happy with my stay. It was close to the area I was visiting but far enough away to stay out of the busy city. There was plenty of restaurants and shopping facilities near. I would definitely stay at that location again.”

• Great pillow top mattresses.
• Had to drive up service road thru mall entrance to get to hotel. Very busy and rather dangerous.

“Love Fairfield, always have the pillow top mattresses which are so comfortable. Close to all food chains and a mall for those that have an interest.”

• Large comfortable room.
• Not very clean at all, certain noted promises not delivered.

“There was garbage in my nightstand drawer that I found when looking for the phone book. The pool has scum all around it and needed a good scrubbing. The room guide mentioned the front desk would have menus for dinner delivery and when I asked the desk, they were clueless at best. The elevator was horribly slow. Breakfast room was smallish given the number of guests, and the breakfast was not stocked very well. But the rooms are large, and bedding etc. was clean and comfortable, they obviously just kept missing some of the finer details, something you would expect a Marriott chain hotel to be able to handle easily.”

• Had some noise issues overnight, don't know if the staff took care of them or not.

• I was very pleased with the continental breakfast, it was delicious and filling.
• We had a non-smoking room and the room seemed a little smoky.

“This hotel is conveniently located right off of I-80 and was very clean and quite. The continental breakfast had a variety of foods and was delicious. The hotel had high speed wireless internet access that worked very well. My overall impression was that the hotel provided a lot for the money. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.”

• Nice size room and most importantly, good water pressure in the shower!
• We were on the 3rd floor and the ice and snack machines are only on the 1st floor.

• It far exceeded my expectations for a 2 star hotel ! Extremely clean and staff was very helpful with directions and recommendations for diner!
• Nothing to dislike here..a great place

“Along with the cleaniness and good staff, it had a nice outdoor patio and an indoor pool with Jacuzzi..We had questions about the area we asked of both the evening and morning staff and they went out of their way to help..I cannot say enough good things about the Fairfield Inn...We enjoyed a nice continental breakfast too..things were stocked and the breakfast room clean”

“I was dissappointed in this motel.Usually a "2 star" motel has an indoor pool if it is located in a cool region. They also usually have a free movie channel (HBO, cinemax,etc.)”

• The location was great. Close to the interstate and restaurants.
• Work was being done and their was a stench of gasoline in the air.
