• Location, entire floor non-smoking, quality restaurants close by.
• No elevator.

“Super 8 is located directly across from the mall in Carbondale, Illinois. This is a 3 story structure. Rooms are clean, mattress is solid, equipped with microwave, mini-fridge, iron, ironing board, safe, and hair dryer. The rooms are quiet, and the entire facility will be smoke-free.”

• Room, breakfast and staff good.
• Not enough towels for 4 in bathroom.

• Very secure and safe at night.
• Very hard to get in to from the main road.

“If was a great place to stay at. The rooms were very clean. Somewhere great to stay, especially if you have a lot of things planned to o during the day. No reason to spend a lot of money for somewhere you are just going to sleep.”

• They were friendly and very helpful and were centered on the population they served (college students).
• The hot water ran very slow.

“I would give the hotel an 8. Three stars for a college student wanting to o back and visit their old school.”

• I loved the cleanliness of the room.
• Nothing.

“The room was better than I hoped for the price I paid. I hated not being able to stay longer than one day but enjoyed my stay. It was relaxing and the perfect place to stay for such an affordable price.”

• The free wireless internet and location.
• It was just old and had seen better days. Free breakfast should have been labeled free snacks.

“The hotel is what you get for the price. I am a very easy to please traveler so when I get the basics. A clean bed, roof, not smelly room with a shower that works I am pleased. Anything above that is just icing on the cake. The Super 8 covers all the basic needs no less, no more. I was happy with my stay.”

• Great value, extremely clean, employees very friendly.
• The bed pillows are awfully thin and bathroom lighting is very dim.

“For the price, this is a great hotel. Very clean. Employees very nice. I would stay here again. And I usually stay at the Marriot. Location is great.”

“Hotel is conveniently located, very basic room features, and is what you should expect out of an economy hotel. The major complaint that I would have is that there are too many smoking rooms and seem to filtrate around and it is understaffed in my opinion.”

• Clean rooms and economical pricing was exactly what we were look in for. Continental breakfast convenient too.
• Listing said there was a hairdryer and our room did not have one. Desk clerk allowed us to use one from another room as all other rooms did have one.

“The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. We were looking for an economical, no frills, clean place to stay, near SIUC and this was perfect. Well worth the price, especially with the free continental breakfast in the a.m.”

• Clean comfortable beds.
• Bathroom.

“This is a non-frills hotel with bare bones rooms and bathrooms. Very plain. The tub bottom was discolored and the bathroom very small. But, the beds were clean and comfortable. Very brightly lit parking lot as it is next to a large car dealership. Room could have been a little darker for sleep due to all the lights on the west side. Breakfast was cereal and packaged Danish, that's it. Doubt if I would choose this hotel again.”

• The place was so bad I didn't even sleep there, I found somewhere else to go.

• The staff was unhelpful and the room was a huge disappointment.

“The location of the motel is ok, but the location of my room was not. It was in the lobby of the hotel, and every time someone entered the lobby, my room door shook loudly. I asked to be moved to another room, but the person at the desk would not move me, even though other rooms were available. We ended up having to get a room at another place, so I paid for two rooms in one night! ”

• Continental breakfast of fruit and Danish.
• I had no way of ordering non-smoking and 2 double beds on line. My teenage son and I had to sleep together in a queen bed.

“The night clerk tried to accommodate our needs with a small roll-away bed that was a foot too short for my teenage son. But at least we didn't have to sleep on the floor. The day clerk was unfriendly.”

• The continental breakfast was great!
• The lack of an elevator was a drawback. I had to make 2 trips to get all my luggage up to the 3rd floor.

“This hotel meets it's rating. An elevator would elevate it to exceed it's rating. We found it very clean and quiet. We enjoyed the continental breakfast that had many options.”

• Lots of
  TV channels.
• Only 1 bed in our room.

“The hotel is fine. The rooms were clean, staff left my room alone if I asked and cleaned it later. Front desk people were real helpful as well.”
