“I am generally very laid back and easy to please. In this room I could hear the people above me, next to me, and in the hallway. Housekeeping knocked on my door before 9 a.m., even with the do not disturb sign posted. All in all, not the most relaxing experience. On the positive side, my room was very pretty and impeccably clean. Wi-Fi internet access worked great. I probably would not stay here again.”

• The hotel was new and clean!
• The fire alarm at 3:45 am was horrible.

“The hotel was nice and is in a new section of town. If you're looking for locally owned restaurants close to your hotel this is not your place. Everything is a chain restaurant around there. The employees were nice but did not know what to do when there was the 3:45am fire alarm. There was no communication to the guests at all during or after the alarm.”

• The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and never made us feel like we were being a burden with two small children.
• The buffet was less than desirable for 9.95 and the server was rude and pushy.

“I really appreciated the helpfulness and friendliness of the hotel staff. I would likely stay here again; however I think they need a full service restaurant and room service.”

“Very nice - I think they should tell you that breakfast is not included in the room handbook. They just invite you down to breakfast and then you are charged. Just let you know up front before you go down.”

• Design elements were excellent, modern, and new.
• Hallways felt narrow. Walk to elevator felt utilitarian.

“The quality of our stay exceeded our expectations. This hotel was fresh in appearance, the design of the public spaces and our room was smart and invigorating, and the breakfast buffet was one of the best I've had in a while (not lavish, but it had a wide variety of high quality hot and cold food). The location is only slightly difficult to get to due to a combination of short side roads you have to take off the main road from the airport or downtown. Public computer and printer off the lobby space made accessing and printing boarding passes for the return flight easy. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. I would definitely stay here again next time.”

• Everything about the room and the experience was as it should be.
• It is located right next to a rather noisy interstate highway.

“My parents needed a place to lay their heads after a long flight. The Courtyard hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, and the experience, while brief, was pleasant. Since they are used to life in the country, the busy highway outside was a bit noisy for them, but the windows did block out most of the sound. A complimentary continental breakfast would be about the only thing I would request as something to add.”

• Paid full fare previously and always prefer to stay here. Excellent facility and staff.
• Some what hard to get too due to location but worth the effort.

“Would recommend to any traveler to East Madison. Stayed at Courtyard in Scottsdale, AZ and although good this location exceeds. Stayed here before and have never been disappointed - accommodating staff and very neat facility and grounds. An excellent choice.”

• Best courtyard by Marriott that I ever stayed at or in.
• Roads in and out of hotel are a little tricky.

“While typically courtyard by Marriott's are a 2-1/2 star hotel, this specific location is a 3 star due to being more of a multi level hotel instead of a typical 2 story.”

“Comfortable, clean, romantic. The television was not directly in front of the bed. It was on a pull-out sliding tray; while it was plainly visible from the bed it was weird having to lay slanted in bed to watch TV.”

• The entire hotel is nonsmoking. When you walk in it is welcoming, clean and open. The breakfast was healthy and yummy.
• Nothing.

“This is a fine hotel and I would definitely recommend it to others. The staff was always friendly but not in an overbearing way. There were several guests on the weekend we stayed but it felt peaceful and not hectic and rushed.”

• Free internet in room was nice, and outdoor public spaces were nice.
• Cleaning staff made up room very late - after long day we just wanted to go back to room and relax.

“The hotel is a very nice 2.5 star hotel that we liked based on the price we got. Pool and outdoor spaces were very nice. Location was sufficient for what we were doing. Staff was friendly.”

• The rooms were very nice and they were very clean.
• I wish they would have included a free continental breakfast like some of the other hotels have.

“This hotel is on the edge of town and very quiet. We loved the cleanliness and the beautiful interior. The bathrooms were roomy and the tub was great for a nice luxurious bubble bath at the end of a long day. We would love to stay here again!”

“This is a pleasant attractive hotel. It was great to have coffee available in the lobby and lots of reading material as well. We also appreciated having an Internet station in the lobby area to check email. The decor was updated and attractive. Lots of nice surfaces -- good carpet and counter tops Attractive lobby.”

• No fan in the bathroom/ no complimentary breakfast.

“A great place to stay! The employees were friendly and attentive, and the common areas (as well as my room) were clean, attractive, and comfortable. There is a nice little market bistro near the lobby where one can purchase food any time of day, and the entire facility is non-smoking. I do wish they offered a complimentary breakfast, though.”

• Very clean and the staff was extremely accommodating.
• The only thing I didnt like, were that the children were not supervised very well.

• The check in and out was quick and the staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable.
• The toilet was very low.

“The Marriott courtyard hotel was one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. We were welcomed by beautiful flowers and shrubs and very pleasant staff. Once we were in the room, we noticed the refrigerator. An unexpected surprise. It was nice to be able to keep our beverages cold. When night time came. The view of the capital was wonderful. We even slept with the drapes open so we could look outside during the night! Thank you for the lovely stay!”

• Easy to find and very nice room.
• We had a boat and truck and they did not have convenient parking for that.

“Right off the interstate, the Courtyard is very nice and comfortable. There's no smoking in the hotel, so very clean. The bathroom is well-laid out with marble-like counter top. Plenty of towels for two (which you do not always find). Excellent TV service and Internet available. Room set up (king) is very functional and temperature control is the best I have seen (wall-mounted heat, cool digital control.”

• The final checkout clerk was a bit slow, and seemed ditzy. The rest of the staff was excellent and very helpful with directions to dinner locations.

• The room was absolutely beautiful.

“The desk clerk was wonderful: efficient, friendly, and very helpful. The room was lovely. The bed was superb, complete with 5 pillows per bed. Most places you need to ask for extra pillows. The room was very clean. ”

• Spacious and beautifully decorated rooms.
• Really short on the amenities for the price. Not a good value..

“Room was spacious and well decorated but considering the $160 price tag per night quite short on amenities. For example no heater in bathroom, the room faced a very busy highway which made it so noisy you couldn't open the sliding door or use the balcony. For this price, there is a lot better out there.”

• What wasn't to like?

“From the fresh smell, to the overhead lighting on the great vase of pussy willows, the Courtyard had my vote for short stay of the summer. The room was immaculate and eye appealing in an oriental theme in shades of blue. The soft beds w/lots of pillows even delighted my 80 year old mother, who by the way, out paced me and my daughter around the Capitol during the Farmer's Market. A Great Stay, I highly recommend.”

• My wife said it was the best hotel she has ever stayed in. That's gold.
• It snowed 4 inches but I don't think it was their fault.

“The beds were soft, the bathroom was clean, the pool and hot tub were perfect. The lounge area was very welcoming and they offered free wireless internet in the lounge. The hotel is perfectly located in Madison.”

• This hotel was excellent.
• I thought the breakfast was complimentary.

“This was a great hotel. I had no complaint. The staff was great and very friendly. Location was good. Nearby Shopping was good even though I didn't have time to spend shopping. The only complaint I did have was that there was no signage stating that the breakfast was not complimentary, I thought it was and so I helped myself and while I was eating got a bill. I felt a little embarrassed since I didn't bring any money down with me, so I had to go back to my room and pay later.”

• The rooms were comfortable. There were many TV station options.
• No evening restaurant. Have to have a car.

“Hotel is very clean and comfortable. Was a great price for my needs on this trip, must have a car, sits on the edge of east side of town. I would stay again in deck and Jan when I come, if I could get the same price. Loved the cable choices for TV.”
