• Well located, and pretty pool area.
• The room was really hot and there was no air conditioning adjustment.

“The room itself was fine, nothing fancy; the pool area was nice though a little awkward being all windows off the lobby. Nicely located just outside the busy party of Madison.”

• The pool looked very nice and in a great location.
• We called and asked ahead for a single bed - they said they'd try, but couldn't accommodate us. I doubt they were sold out.

“The room overall was very nice and tasteful. Only bad thing was that the wallpaper was peeling in more than a few spots in the room.”

“I stayed in this hotel a couple of weeks ago for business and thought it would be nice place to bring my family back to for a night. However this time our room was not very well kept (old, outdated) and overall felt less clean. I will avoid staying here again. There are just too many good hotels to stay in rundown old hotels.”

• I really liked the amenities. The pool and hot tub were very clean, elegant and open.
• Rooms were too conventional and the room was dull.

“The hotel is great. Very bright and open lobby with pool close by and open and bright. Bar was fairly active and had a DJ at times. But as is par for the course, the drinks were too expensive. I'd look to use the rewards group instead though because they can give a pretty good deal and upgrades are more available.”

• Bad place, to Embassy Suites, much better.

“This was by far the worst place I have ever stayed! The value would have been better at a motel 6! I have never stayed at a middle grad to high grad hotel that did not have a Free continental breakfast. We were given a $28 dollar bill for 2 breakfast's that we thought was a free continental breakfast. It was a small selection, no one helped us, and yet we had to pay this. We confronted the front desk, they could have cared less, we left a voice mail for the manager and an email, we have yet to hear back! The room was incredibly hot, there was no way to cool it down. They ended up bringing a tiny fan in, but still did not do much. I think long story short, this location is trying to live off the name of their other Resort locations and so they think they can charge an arm and a leg for nothing but a mediocre room and service! go ro Embassy Suites for great rooms, great service, plus a free made to order continental breakfast, also free drink hour at the bar.”

• BAD.
• They charged an arm & a leg for the continental breakfast! $27+ for two and it was a buffet style.

“This hotel location in my eyes is living off its name and the luxury of the other resorts. This is not a resort, but yet they feel they can charge as though they are one. We have stayed at hotels that have better staff, way better rooms, and a free breakfast made to order that is by far better than this place. I have had a better room and better staff at a motel 6! We will never stay at this place ever again. bad, so not worth the money.”

• It was not a 3 1/2 star hotel, maybe a 2 ½.

“Great location, early check in, late check out, forgot my toothbrush they gave me one. Beds were super comfortable with lots of pillows. Heat did not work so the first 8 hours were freezing cold as the maid left the window open and allot of snow came into the room making the floor wet. Maintain. Man came in and fixed the heat and from then on it was good to go!”

• I thought the pool was nice.
• The hotel is a little dated; the hot tub was very foamy.

“The staff was nice, the rooms are average. Parking can be a little congested, as well as the road in front of the hotel. The hotel is a little dated; ceiling tiles with water damage could be replaced above the restaurant. Hotel amenities are a little pricey. Pool is nice. Over all, the place is ok.”

• The pool was warm, very rare.
• The air thru the duct work made a constant whistling noise.

• Poor staff friendliness and helpfulness.

“Upon arriving we were given a smoking room without being asked. When we denied the room, we were told the only way to get non smoking was to upgrade to a suite. We had to since my wife has strong allergies. We were not even offered a discounted rate and were treated poorly when we denied the first room.”

• We liked the pool and exercise facilities. The hotel had easy access and many local restaurants to choose from in close proximity.
• The bar area was dark. There are areas around doors, floors that need maintenance. Cable TV had limited channels.

“I would stay here again and recommend it to others. It has easy access from the freeway, close to a variety of restaurants (within walking distance) and nice pool and exercise room. Rooms are clean and comfortable.”

• The hotel had great front desk service. The rooms were very clean and I loved the different pillows provided for us.
• The restaurant service was very slow, however there was a blizzard that day and they were not fully staffed.

“It was a great value. Nice clean and comfortable rooms. Nice pool area and fitness room. The front desk people were very pleasant and accommodating. It was a very good experience.”

• I called ahead for 2 double beds, but we did not get it.

“Everything was good except that I had phoned ahead to request 2 double beds and was told ok, but when we got there our room had one king. We asked to be changed to a different room, but were told none were available.”

“This hotel was very nice and clean. The pool was bigger than most hotel pools, though we didn't have time to use it, only were there for the night. Easy access from the interstate. The front desk personnel were very friendly and helpful.”

“Location great. Nice exercise room. Staff not fully informed or did not relay needed information to guests. There was a huge snow storm that closed most of the town. This made dinner service to be 1.5 hours to 2 hours behind. Slow to get drinks at the bar. Situation could have been handled better. Lot took a long time to be plowed. Business center should have a sign to tell guests that outbound faxes need to be done by the front desk.”

• Corridor and first room smelled like a sewer. We had to change rooms.

“The first room we were given (ground level) smelled like a sewer. It was intolerable. They did move us to a different room on the 5th floor which was better but still we got an occasional whiff of a very unpleasant odor. We wanted a room with a queen or king bed but were given one with a double bed and a sofa bed (1st room) and then one with 2 double beds. Will not stay here again.”

• Front desk staff was indifferent.

“Front desk clerk gave us a hard time getting a late check out of 30 minutes. She told my partner in a snippy voice. When we confronted the manager we were told this is not true and that any guest can request a check-out until 2PM at no cost, the manager was very apologetic and said that she would speak to the employee who gave us the incorrect information. Overall very nice property for the area, room was nice, great breakfast buffet with very friendly service. My only complaint was the desk clerk, but this would make me reconsider another visit to the hotel if in Madison for personal or business travel. This hotel is in area with many similar hotels, I don't ever recall issues with the staffs at those properties.”

• I was sorry I did not request a queen double since one guest had a broken arm.

• They made an obvious effort to provide every comfort they could think of that might make it a pleasurable stay.
• We had no complaints. The pool, whirlpool and fitness center were great as well.

“The Court Plaza is a fantastic hotel. They have outstanding amenities, the room was great and we will recommend this hotel highly to anyone we know that may be staying in the Madison area.”

• Whirlpool too hot to use.

“Cold water faucet not working initially also whirlpool at 108 degrees (should be max. Of 105). Our room was missing a full length mirror outside bathroom. (could see where it had been removed). Coffee only available in the morning and they did not mark their carafes to show which was decaf and which was not. Have stayed here before, but overall pretty disappointed this time around.”

• Free wireless internet, friendly cleaning staff, lovely lobby, free coffee, internet printing station.
• Smelled like smoke in second floor room 200 212 hallway.

“Crowne plaza has become my first choice when staying in Madison. Although it is not walking distance to downtown, it is close enough to the airport and shopping and downtown. They have wonderful beds and a pillow menu. Very comfortable. Free wi fi!”

• Cramped parking when hotel is full.

“Although it is located on a busy street, it is a straight shot to drive downtown, and the mall is across the street. The rooms are older but the personal touch and decorating is very nice. The staff is helpful and very personal.”

“The hotel lobby is large and elegant. It raises expectations that are not met in the rooms. Other than the lobby the public spaces-elevators and hallways- and the private spaces were a disappointment. Bathroom sink was scratched and chipped, the sink plunger did not work and neither did the hair dryer.”

• Extra care had been taken to make the room very comfortable.
• The bathroom was outdated and had mildew in the shower and sink.

“We liked the hotel very much. The room was a good size and very comfortable. Great bed and linens. Would stay there again if in the area. The bathroom was not cleaned well. The management needs to address the issue.”

• I love the beds and elegance of rooms.
• Our room was not cleaned very well, and walls and furniture were torn.

“This was a great place to stay, right smack dab in the middle of shopping and restaurants on east side of Madison. Easy to get in and out. Newly remodeled rooms, and very comfortable beds. I would always recommend the Crowne Plaza to any traveler.”

• Allowed dogs, great location near shopping/dining.
• Room smelled like a city sewer.

“The Crowne Plaza Madison is in a great location, close to shopping and dining. The room I had unfortunately smelled like a city sewer and had only a full size bed (hotels really should have a minimum of queen sized beds). I doubt I would stay there again.”
