“Nice location (overlooking lake), but somewhat difficult to find. Clean, well-appointed room, but the hotel charged for amenities often included in the room charge in other hotels I've frequented (e.g., internet access, bottled water).”

• Bed was extremely comfortable and wonderful view.
• Parking at this location costs $11 a night.

“The hotel was very comfortable, yet very elegant. Staff was very helpful and knew the area well. Check in and out was extremely easy and the side of the 11th floor we were on had a beautiful view of the capital.”

• Close to the Capital/downtown/lake.
• Hard to find-seemed hidden but it was dark and late.

“The room was not complete. meaning they didn't have a bedspread on one bed and we never could find the remote for the TV. didn't matter too tired! But we just stayed the night. The next morning we walked around the downtown before leaving it was in a wonderful location to view lots of Madison.”

• Boutique style hotel but with full service. Excellent view and superbly finished interior.
• Only that the main hotel restaurant was not open on a Sunday.

“What a great hotel. Right in the heart of Madison with the South side looking out over the smaller of the two Lakes. Parking is only $8 overnight and the staff, rooms, lobby etc was all well above standard. The hotel has a boutique hotel feel but with full service of Bar, Restaurant and a Pool.”

• The location was great. The hotel offers both lake views and city views.
• Front desk was not as responsive as we would have liked.

“Hotel location was great, just a few blocks from State Street in downtown Madison. The hotel also offers a nice view and clean rooms. Overnight parking was available at the hotel for $11.”

• The view on the lake side was breathtaking, especially at night with the fountain and lights lit up.
• Lack of parking, and the breakfast buffet was rather lacking for the cost.

“ This was a wonderful the location was close to downtown, but still had the rooftop garden to walk along. If you venture out, nearby you will find a great little micro brewery called The Great Dane, wonderful food and great service, and the best it was walking distance. We went on a Saturday evening, be prepared for limited parking as we had several weddings that were booked into the hotel also, so once we got a parking spot we did not want to lose it. The staff was courteous, but we found we had to wait for our room even though we called ahead to see if it was ready. The room was very comfortable and we enjoyed the wonderful view. We tried the breakfast buffet, I would suggest a pass on this, it was very limited for the price, just one step above continental, I would expect coffee and juice to be included, but these were extra. Otherwise our stay was very relaxing and I would stay there again.”

• Not all elevators went down to the parking levels.

• I loved the huge window looking out over the lake.
• There was nothing that I did not love.

“It was very exciting for me from the moment I arrived. A jazz singer and piano duo were performing in the lounge and the music was great. My room was breathtaking. I love Madison, WI and staying in such an exquisite hotel made me forget all my troubles for a short time.”

• Great view, great lounge bar, live music, great service and friendly workers. The Best.
• Absolutely nothing.

“This hotel had everything we wanted and more. The view of the Capitol on one side and the lake on the other side. Live music on a Wednesday evening, very nice lounge and bar area. We could not have been happier with our stay.”

• Loved location within walking distance of many restaurants and view of lake.
• Check in staff had some trouble getting us into a room with one queen bed.

“Great location just off capitol square and within walking distance of many nice restaurants. We parked the car in the city lot kitty corner from the hotel and walked to restaurants and bars. I was impressed with the cleanliness of our Lakeview room, especially appreciated in the bathroom. Our room did not show signs of wear and tear. The pool and hot tub were noticeably clean, without the usual accumulated scum around the edges. We would be happy to stay here again.”

• Would have preferred queen bed but forgot to ask for it instead of two full size.

• The room was fantastic. Comfortable beds, attractive decor, wonderful lake view. Great price, too!
• Our room was way too hot, and we couldn't figure out how to turn the temperature down.

• The bed was very comfortable with good quality bedding.
• It was advertised as within walking distance to State street; it was not. I resented having to pay for parking. Coffee was not included in buffet.

“Parking was not included and was difficult to maneuver. Though advertised as downtown and close to State street, it was not. The breakfast buffet did not include juice or coffee and did not have much to offer for the cost.”

• Views and location. Capital building on one side with lake on the other. Easy 5 minute walk to restaurants, shops, & bars of State St.
• Parking at $11 per night is a bit steep for Madison, Wi. Upper parking levels were empty but reserved for "Capital Club members".

“Very nice upscale hotel. Two blocks from capital building with wonderful view of the lake out our room window.”

• The feather pillows, heavenly sleep.
• The extra for parking that is charged is still a surprise, but not a deal breaker.

“I do not know a lot about the Hilton Madison Monona. It appears to be a good hotel, but I did not eat or drink there. I do think you should be ready to pay the extra $11.00 a night for parking.”

“The hotel is located right on the capital square, with great views of the dome and Lake Monona. It is minutes from State Street (the pedestrian mall of Madison) and a dozen very good to excellent restaurants. It is extremely well maintained and the staff of courteous and friendly.”

“The Monona Terrace Hilton provides clean, comfortable, spacious accommodations in a great location. The service is excellent. The lobby bar is comfortable, with a roaring fire in winter. The same space provides a great spot for excellently prepared breakfast. The pool and whirlpool and exercise facilities help keep one relaxed and in shape.”

“This hotel had some very good qualities. I was completely satisfied except for the bed. I did not care for the comforter and the bed itself was rather short. I'm under 6 foot tall and my feet were hanging off the edge. Other than that, it was a good experience.”

“The hotel was situated in a rather hard to find locating, compounded by road work and temporary one way traffic. Once inside everything went well. Service was attentive. Rooms were clean. Pool area was fine too. Sunday brunch was a bit "off."”
