• Check in staff was great, very fast and friendly.
• Room service breakfast was good, hotel restaurants were bad. High price, bad food.

“Great location, just off State St where there is always something to do, and lots of places to eat. Rooms are large huge beds, great pillows, and quiet rooms. Hot tub had filthy side walls, not inviting. Pool seemed clean, so did the shower area. Would go again.”

“The hotel staff was great. Check in was a breeze, even though I had some unusual requests, they handled them with a smile, and quickly. The restaurants need some work. Breakfast was great, dinner was not. Must be the cook, but how can you screw up chicken breast and rice, and charge a small fortune? Save the money, eat downtown.”

• Heavenly gym, sauna, hot-tub, quiet floors, restful experience.
• Unprofessional front desk staff, negotiating NAFTA was easier than getting an aspirin delivered to my room.

“The concourse hotel is in an excellent location, walking distance to capitol, state street restaurants, lake. There is lots to see in Madison if you call, pull yourself out of the first class spa/gym.”

• Parking was a little tough to navigate but ok for area.

“Concourse is a quality property in Downtown Madison. Very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and comfortable. Fitness center was state of the art with individual flat screen TVs on each machine. Good selection of aerobic machines and weights for guest use.”

• This hotel was bright in lighting and elegant in decor. The restaurant was high end and the food selections were very good.
• The streets surrounding the capital were hard to navigate to find the hotel. The only in hotel restaurant was very pricey.

“For traveling through Madison, this hotel was a most elegant choice. Although there were 3 distinct groups staying at the hotel, including a visiting college hockey team and a professional group, at no time was the hotel noisy or crowded. It was well worth our money spent. Be prepared to enjoy a great meal although a pricey one if you choose to eat in the hotel itself.”

• Underground parking and free shuttle service.
• There was a piece of glass in my bed-- they only comped my parking ($7) to make up for it.

“Overall, we were pleased with what this hotel had to offer. The room was decent, except that there was a piece of glass in my bed. I wasn't overly pleased that to make up for the glass, they were only willing to comp my parking fee of $7. The bar is quite small but has a great selection of premium liquor. Restaurant has a nice weekend brunch, but again is small and filled up very quickly. All in all we were pleased.”

“This hotel was located in the Downtown Madison area. Close to shopping, dining and entertainment. The amenities were fruitful and there is much to keep a single, family or couple entertained. I would highly recommend the Madison Concourse Hotel.”

• Getting a "token" to leave slows the checkout.

• Location within walking distance to many downtown events and places.
• 2 visits--waited for heat for an hour once before being moved to another room, hard-to-adjust heat next time.

“Really appreciated the location, comfortable bed (except for one very flat pillow), beautiful lobby and rooms, and great continental breakfast. Did not like the heating--very hard to regulate. On our first of two visits within a month, our heating was not working. Someone worked on it for an hour (while we waited and froze) before we were moved to another room (with no compensation for our time and discomfort).”

• Bed was covered in food and hair and didnt look washed.

“The hotel was nice, but the hotel rooms were not clean. The first room I was in looked like a man shaved his legs in bed and the other bed in the room had food all over it. They did offer to change my room, and the other room had clean linins but the shower had not been cleaned.”

• We knew that it would be clean and well kept and it was.
• Parking is limited in the area and there was a fee to park.

“Hotel staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. The hallways and rooms were extremely clean even though it was winter and we expected to see the slop from outside tracked into the building and rooms. There was evidence that there were working at keeping the hallways and rooms clean.”

• I liked that I could access the parking from my hotel elevator.
• My hotel key did not work at first and the ice machine was broken at some point, both minor.

“I felt very posh and pampered in this hotel. If it had not been so very frigid I would have been close enough to walk to anything that I may have needed. Because it was so cold, I chose to drive and that was very easy as well.”

“Well appointed hotel in the heart of Madison which made it close to the capitol and a wide choice of eating venues. Rooms were spotless and comfortable and made for a wonderful deal.”

• The lobby was beautiful.
• Parking ramp was awful.

“Pleasant rooms with views, numerous choices for food and shopping. We were in Madison for an event on UW-Madison's campus during a weekend of subzero temperatures. The Madison concourse worked out extremely well. We stayed on the tenth floor overlooking the lake. It was less than 2 miles from the field house and less than a mile from the union theater. Very convenient.”

“The Concourse is in a great location on the capital square. It is a very safe area a within walking distance to many Downtown attractions. The hotels have a very nice business office for traveling computer users. A very helpful and friendly. Very high quality furnisher and fixtures.”

• The atmosphere was nice. The bar had great food, and wonderful music. The rooms were nice and clean, the staff was very friendly.
• Being located in the very heart of downtown, the hotel seemed to have stragglers from the streets hanging out in the lobby, and the parking garage.

“Worth every penny I spent. I have no complaints. I had a great stay.”

“This hotel was in a good location for our event at the Alliant Center and to State Street for evening activities. The room was fine, bed was great. Parking was horrible and there was an additional charge per night with no guarantee of a spot. Bathroom was very small. Upon check-in, the room keys did not work so I had to haul all the luggage back down 9 floors to the desk only to have them just smile and say "oh, I bet the keys didn't work." Apparently this happens frequently. One key never worked at all on either the parking or the room door. Quite poor signage to indicate where to park and how to get to the lobby as well.”

“We have been to Madison several times and had no idea where this hotel was. It is very hard to find. Many one way streets that dead end make it difficult to find. A bigger or more brightly colored sign on the side of the building would have been helpful. Once there the staff was outstanding! They more than made up for the difficulty in locating the hotel!”

• The location was great.
• Rooms were small and the noise level from other rooms was very loud. Not the romantic get away we were hoping for.

“Everything was very clean. The decor is dated and bland. The rooms are not at all sound proof. I was up all night because of the children crying, people coughing and watching television late into the night. This was very unfortunate as we left our children behind to have a romantic get away.”

• The staff was very friendly and helpful! I will use this hotel again soon!
• Price of room service for a pot of coffee was $14.

“My wife and I enjoyed our stay immensely! I actually look forward to going back to Madison just to stay at this hotel! Oh by the way, we swam in the pool, used the hot tub and sauna for a total of 2.5 hrs on Saturday afternoon and we were the ONLY ones there!”

• The hotel had two queen-sized beds in the room, which was very nice for those of us who like to share a bed!
• It would have been nice if they had had something for breakfast.

• The maids kept knocking even though the do not disturb sign was up.

“Great location, close to State Street and Capital. I walked with two young boys to the Kohl Center no problem. Parking onsite and reasonable. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting the Capital or Campus.”

• Very comfortable beds, clean, pleasant and helpful staff, great value lunch buffet.
• The heating in the room was a single window unit, and we did not care for the noise and how it worked.

“The hotel was very pleasant and comfortable. It is not a high end hotel (at least in the main levels) but is nicer than most Madison area digs. The sauna and hot tub are great and the exercise room useful. The pool is nice but not really appropriate for lap swimming. Our bed was really comfortable and the Concourse lunch buffet is a good value and yummy. We had a pleasant stay and appreciated the attentiveness and helpfulness of the staff.”

• I really liked the lobby and the view that the receptionist got us was great.
• It was not very romantic and the coffee left much to be desired.
