“Pleasantly surprised. This used to be a Howard Johnson which was dirty and not so inviting. The beds were great. It was clean. People were very friendly. You can't beat the location for UW activities!!” May 29, 2008 by
Chad from Pleasant Prairie, WY
“Nice hotel. Staff was efficient but not particularly friendly but to be fair I had no contact with them except at check-in. Parking was inadequate. The location is great because it is near central Madison and is within walking distance of tons of restaurants. The City of Madison taxes on the room were insane which is to be expected of a Democrat run city. Overall I would stay here again should I ever run the Madison Marathon again.” Mar 26, 2008 by

“We were pleasantly surprised by the location (walking distance from State Street) and comfortable accommodations (great beds and pillows!); they also had a warm chocolate and walnut cookie upon your arrival that is scrumptious. We will definitely be back this summer.” Aug 15, 2007 by
Tj from Saint Louis Park, MN
“Great location on Madison Campus! Most comfortable bed I've slept on every more so than my own bed at home! Only downside is the price. There aren't many other options on campus.” Apr 9, 2007 by
Anne from Appleton, WI
“Location was great and the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The room, although a bit small, was wonderfully clean & fresh and the beds made for a great night's sleep. The only major disappointment was the shower which had no water pressure.” Dec 20, 2006 by
Russ from Green Bay, WI
“Friendly staff, close to the kohl center went to basketball game) walking distance to everything.” Mar 16, 2006 by
Alex from Two Rivers, WI
“Would be a nice place to stay if they haven't jacked up the price just because of the High School girls basketball tournament.” Feb 23, 2006 by
Susan from Racine, WI
“Was a wonderful hotel! The staff were very friendly and helpful, the restaurant breakfast buffet was simple but good. Warm Chocolate chip cookies at check in were a delightful surprise! The close location to campus. If you have kids at the University or wish to see the campus, this is the perfect hotel. The bed was very comfortable, and I am a picky sleeper. All in all definitely worth looking into.” Apr 1, 2005 by
Laura from Naperville, IL
“The Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel was definitely more then I expected! The room was just amazing. 2 Queen size beds each with 5 pillows on them! The bathroom was large and the shower comfortable. The hotel also had an indoor pool and whirlpool which was awesome since the cold weather doesn't allow you to be swimming outside!” Jan 16, 2005 by
Steve from Neshkoro, WI
