• The front desk clerk was both pleasant and helpful.

“This hotel was right off a major highway which made getting into downtown Madison and surrounding areas very easy. The appliances within the kitchen were in good order and the room setup was perfect for an extended stay.”

• SO close to hwy, yet room quiet. Thermostat on wall.
• There was no pool, hot tub, or restaurant.

“In Madison for Bratfest. Got this hotel on very far west side of Madison. Right next to Beltline Hwy exit. Small workout room and laundry. Only a tiny outdoor pool that wasn't filled yet. Pets are allowed, so heard the occasional dog bark. WI-FI is not free.”

• I loved the studio apartment feel.
• It was farther west than I wanted to be.

“It is a pleasant place to stay with friendly staff. The rooms are spacious and clean. You do need to pay extra for maid service, but that is made clear to you at check-in.”

• I had a smoking room - they said no non-smoking available.

“At 1:30 am, no desk attendant on duty, had to call a phone at nearby affiliated hotel and wait for someone to come over and check us in. This extra 20 minutes to check in is annoying when you want to get to bed right away. Also, we were given the dreaded smoking room. I am an asmatic and this is unacceptable! They claimed they had no other rooms available. Upsetting!”

• Friendly staff.
• Very unpleasant smells as soon as we entered the door. Worse in the room.

“Our room appeared clean but smelled as though someone had just broiled a steak in the kitchen and the smell never let up. Next morning my husband opened the oven and saw the steak mess that no one had cleaned. When I tried to make coffee found the old coffee filter inside. Guess they only clean superficially. It was a very unpleasant experience overall.”

• It was very clean, there was a DVD player.
• Unreliable internet, slow internet, non working printer, night staff was not trained.

“It was very clean and the staff was very friendly. However, I was unable to work from the hotel due to the internet being unreliable or very slow. Also, I needed to print documents several times and each day for a whole week I was told it should be up in a few hours. The night staff told me wrong information several time, along with my inability to get voice messages.”

“The night I arrived I called ahead to let them know I would not make it before the front desk closed. I was told that this was not an issue as there would be a night attendant on duty. I arrived, called 600 from the lobby phone and was told to wait 10 min. I called back every 10 min for an hour and 15 min before someone finally showed up. The next night, I locked myself out of the room when I went grocery shopping in the middle of the night. Again I called 600 from the lobby phone and was told that I would need to wait 10 minutes. I called back every 10 minutes or so for the next hour. Each time, the person on the phone told me that they had just gotten in touch with the night attendant who would be down in less than 10 minutes. No hotel staff ever showed up. I gave up on my melted ice cream, called back again and asked what room the night attendant was staying in. They told me to check the laundry facilities. There was nobody in the laundry room, which was unlocked. However, the laundry room led to the back door to the front desk which was also unlocked. I went behind the desk myself, found the key (at least I believed it was the key) went back to my room and discovered that I had the wrong one. I then went back to the front desk, found a chart that explained the key number to room number matrix, retrieved the key and went up to my room to begin to prepare my supper and retire for the evening. Despite being told that there would be night staff, there was not. Despite being told that the wait would be ten minutes, it was not. And, despite the fact that I was able to retrieve the key myself, I find this to be completely unacceptable. I was lied to by the hotel staff, I was robbed of several hours of sleep and I find the extreme lack of security disturbing. There was nothing stopping me from taking all of the customer records from the hotel. Were I a dishonest person, many identities could have easily been stolen.”

• The homey feel by how it was decorated.
• The air conditioning unit was too close to the bed. The refrigerator in the room was also located next to the bed wall and was noisy.

• Located on west side - not centrally located.

“An extended stay hotel/suite with full kitchen, lots of space in room and within walking distance to a number of restaurants. I enjoyed tanning by the small pool, the fitness center and the recliner.”

• Rooms have full kitchens. Staff very helpful. Free coffee and bagels. Coin laundry. Pack-n-play beds available. DVD players in rooms.
• Beds not very comfortable, no indoor pool (outdoor only), small lobby/common area, front desk only open 7am-11pm, loud fridge.

“It provided a full kitchen and plenty of room for the two of us, plus baby. The staff was very nice. It would have been nice if the desk was open 24 hrs. We would have liked to check-out before they got there in the morning. The free coffee and bagels were a nice start to the day. Improvements could be an indoor pool, more comfortable beds, a larger breakfast selection, and a larger lobby area.”

• It had a full kitchen and everything was accessible for me a wheelchair user.
• $4.95 a day for wireless internet seemed kind of excessive.

“The room is like staying a studio apartment with a full kitchen. Clean rooms and the staff was great. The front desk lady helped me brush the snow off my car which was a godsend since it would have took me forever being in a wheelchair and she did it without being asked. I would definitely stay there again.”

• The toilets were prone to clogging, the equipment didn't always work and the room was very barren of art, etc.

“Extended Stay was a good option for us since we're remodeling and needed a kitchen and more space. The equipment, fixtures, plumbing and kitchen tools were not high quality and it was frustrating at times. The staff, however, was extremely accommodating and always friendly.”

• The lighting in the lot and walk was shoveled but the lighting at the door would help.

“Everything was great. The only problem was there had been a lot of snow and at the entrance there had been shoveled two piles on each side of door. The area that slopes up to curb height had partially been shoveled away, so when I, 70 year old lady at night, came up to sidewalk to go around the pile and up to the door, I was assuming it was flat as my view from behind the pile on approach it appeared completely flat like for wheelchairs etc. it looked. But they had shoveled away some of the walk where it started to rise to curb level, so as I came around the snow pile I tripped and fell very hard on the area that started to rise up from flat to curb height. I broke my glasses, skinned my knees, two black eyes, cut forehead, split nose and lots of pain. It would have been better if they had left the snow cover the rising part. Or if they had two walk lights at the corners of the sidewalk. ANYWAY! They were great and got me a first aid kit and an icepack to stop the blood running down my face and hitting sidewalk. BUT the hotel was great as were the staff. THEY WERE GREAT THOUGH.”

“My complaint which I left with he hotel clerk was that we had no wash cloths in the room! No wash cloths! How does a hotel forget the basic amenities like wash cloths? It was morning when we first noticed this. We did not ask for them because it was one of those decisions you make right before you jump in the shower. We wanted to get going so we did without them. It is just that it was really annoying. The hotel was fine. This though I have never had happen. It just boggles my mind. We have no complaints with your company. Just the hotel.”

• The kitchen was a nice feature.

“The end of the couch looked like a cat had clawed for days at it. The remote was nonexistent. They provided a new one that did not work. The DVD player did not work until the desk clerk came and monkeyed around with it for 15 minutes. The girl however was very helpful and friendly. The fact that a pool was a seasonal outdoor pool was maddening because we had a 9 year old with.”

• I liked the location the kitchen and the price the friendly staff.
• There are a few required amenities that are not available.

“I like everything about the hotel. I have been to Madison a few times for weeks on end and have chosen to stay here every time. There are a few minor things that they could added, there are dished but you have too wash them and there is no dish soap or dishwasher. So unless you thought to bring it from home you have to make a trip to the store.”

• How huge the room was with all the amenities. Like a small apartment.
• We needed a smoking room; staff said smoking rooms smelled horrible so we didnt get one.

“Overall, it was very nice, and clean and well kept. But like I said my husband is a smoker, and the staff who was a smoker herself said she'd never stay in one of those rooms because the smoking rooms smelled horrible. It was very discouraging.”
