• Convenient to dining & shopping, staff well informed & helpful regarding directions.
• A little dusty in the TV cabinet, some of the towels 2nd day were raggedy.

• It was a lot better than the pictures, This hotel is like new and VERY NICE!
• Food from the restaurant both dining and room service breakfast were average at best

“I had almost given up on Marriott hotels because of a couple of bad recent experiences but this hotel was a complete surprise! From the hotel and staff, except for the food, everything was excellent! I wanted to stay longer! The pool, Jacuzzi and sundeck areas were very nice. I had a great time with my son.”

• Attractive decor.
• Maid service knocking on door 8:30 a.m. Sunday, very aggressive about when we would leave!

“Totally positive experience.(with exception of Sunday morning room attendant)She made a face when we said we weren't checking out til 10:30 a.m. All other staff was exceptional. All was attractive and clean. Very near good shopping and some great restaurants.”

• Very friendly staff. Very good breakfast buffet. Nice rooms.
• Wireless internet was $10/day.

“The were all very pleasant and went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We were there for 5 nights on business travel and it felt like home. The bed and linens were comfortable. The soaps, shampoos and lotions were high-end and smelled great. The cold breakfast buffet was under $10 and included beautiful berries, smoked salmon, fresh squeezed juices and superb coffee. I would and will be staying again.”

• Very clean. Bed was incredibly comfortable. Fitness center was fantastic.
• The hot tub was scalding hot. The lobby was still under construction.

This hotel exceeded our expectations.”

• I enjoyed the view from the glass elevators and the bed was very comfortable!
• Our room was a little too warm for my standards.

“We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were comfy and cushy in regards to the bedding. Obviously this hotel is not fancy like many resorts we have stayed at but definitely one of the nicest hotels in Madison, WI. It is only about 15 minutes from Camp Randal and the University of WI and about 20 from the capitol. There are plenty of nice restaurants within a 10 minute drive. The pool was kept at a very nice temperature and when we asked for the hot tub temperature to be adjusted they sent someone immediately to do so. We would definitely stay here again.”

• Fantastic room, clean and nicely furnished.
• I expected free WiFi Internet access for this type of hotel.

“It is a very clean and attractive hotel. The common areas are immaculate, with a lovely waterfall and courtyard area (that is the restaurant). The room itself was also clean, and very well furnished with a wrap-around desk, couch and coffee table, along with normal room furniture. Comfortable bed and pillows; the couch was adequate. The toiletries provided (shampoo, conditioner, lotion) smell wonderful. Negatives: For this scale of hotel, I expected to have free WiFi Internet access or any free Internet access in-room; however, this hotel charges $9.95/day for in-room Internet access. The smoke detector in the room had two lights that blinked annoyingly all the time, including while trying to sleep at night. Overall, I am satisfied with my stay, except for the points listed above.”

• It was close to the places we wanted to be
• One long dark strand of hair on otherwise clean fresh sheets.

“We stay here when we can and like it very much. Breakfast is not cheap but is good. Lots of fresh fruit and healthy alternatives along with all the goodies.”

• Small repairs needed including new screen to prevent japaneese beatles from getting to inside.

• The beds were very comfortable, and the room was spacious.
• The noise from the bar/lobby carried into our room late into the evening.

“The hotel itself was very nice. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've slept in. However, our bathroom had not been cleaned thoroughly (there was a washcloth on the shower curtain rod) and the noise from downstairs was very loud in our room. I expected the room to be more sound proof.”

• The staff was phenomenal and the hotel was in a convenient location to our event and restaurants.
• There is only two elevators for 9 floors and there was almost always an extended wait for the elevator.

“We have stayed at this hotel in the past and have always enjoyed our stays. This time, we even had a drink at the hotel bar after our children went to bed. One thing that we have really liked about other hotels with bars was that they offered complimentary drinks with each room. This drew guests to their bar and generally kept them there. Just a suggestion. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.”

“This is a conference center hotel with upscale feeling rooms. When I asked a question by email, I heard back from the general manager. The location is far from the I-94 for travelers.”

• Location and friendliness and helpfulness of all staff, room was very nice.
• Pool was small.

“We had a wonderful weekend at the Marriott Madison West. The hotel was very pretty in lobby and public rooms. Bedrooms were attractive and clean with very comfortable beds and linens. Liked having a couch in our room too. Staff was very cordial and helpful in locating restaurants, church service and other info. Found the business center a great resource for looking up our own info online. Don't miss great meals at nearby restaurants - Johnny's Italian Steakhouse and The Hubbard Street Diner. A short trip to the mustard museum in Mt. Horeb and a brewery tour at New Glarus Brewery and lunch at the New Glarus Hotel are a must if you have time. Would definitely stay at the Marriott West again!”

• The view from the room was great.
• Heard children running outside of room all night, food was bad, remote sometimes didn't work, price was outrageous.

“This hotel would be great if the price was a little lower, and if the hotel was in a better location. The remote to the TV hardly worked at all (but I did not want to complain over a remote), there were children running in the halls at 11 PM, the sink and tub were clogged and drained slowly.”

• The rooms were less than 400 sq. ft. Otherwise clean.

“This hotel appeals to the business traveler. The room service was quick, delicious and moderately priced. The nearby shopping was great, right across the BLVD was convenient. Ask for a room away from the hwy, truck noise is not so great. Otherwise, I would return again.”
