• The bed was so comfortable; I wanted to take it home.
• Parking was a little inconvenient.

• They opened the Fitness Center earlier than the time stated because I requested that they do so.
• The smell of the room, it spelled like state smoke and it was suppose to be a non smoking room.

“The hotel check in and out was a breeze the staff was friendly. The room smelled of stale smoke and it was suppose to be a non smoking room. I asked for a King and I was given a double, the lock on the door was somewhat damaged and the ice machine on the floor I was on was broken. The fitness center was well taken care of, as was the interior of the hotel. Lighting in the room was good.”

• It was very nice clean and had everything pool, bar, restaurants.
• The two people that were at the check in counter could not answer questions about the pool.

• Lots of pillows and towels.
• No free breakfast.

“Excellent Convention hotel. Location is very accessible off of Interstate I-55. Hotel is 10 minutes from Lincoln museum and Illinois Capitol sites. Swimming pool is on the top 14th floor, accessible with Room Key. It is very basic, could use some freshening to make it look more appealing.”

• The rooms were updated and clean. Pool was big and plenty of room for the kids. Beds were very nice.
• Not much to say about that.

“We had researched some of the other hotels in the area. Most were not updated and did not have restaurants that were open in the hotel itself. The pools were small in the other hotels and run down. This was a lovely hotel.”

• Fantastic hotel great spot it was surrounded by at least 15 different places to eat and shop as well!
• The beds were too soft and uncomfortable we were in a handicap room and the beds were impossible to get in and out of!

• Location, safeness, friendly staff, accommodating staff.
• Dirty sock left on couch and 1/2 used bottle of lotion.

“With the exception of finding a dirty sock on the couch and the lotion bottle was have used up, the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Nice size room. We enjoyed our stay.”

• It was the nicest hotel Ive stayed in, in the Springfield area.
• There was nothing bad about the stay or the hotel.

• Large, comfortable room, comfortable bed.
• Maid did not replenish coffee, there was a dirty plate left in the hallway for our entire 2 day stay.

“Great hotel, clean, nice big room and bathroom. Comfortable bed. What we saw of the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room maid failed to clean our coffee pot and replace used coffee. A dirty room service plate was left in the hallway when we arrived and remained there throughout our two day stay.”

• Hotel bar was nice and the bathrooms large.
• Dirty linens, broken appliances, hotel overlooks a parking lot.

“Crowne plazas are built to overlook metropolitan areas. Since this is on the outskirts of town, the roof garden and the hotel bar, as well as most rooms, have a romantic view of the parking lot and the nearby hooters. Very disappointed with services for a three star hotel - broken appliances in room, dirty linens, hallways that smell of smoke and food, room service items left for hours outside doors. But perhaps worst of all was the surly staff. When we arrived, the doormen barked at us that we couldn't park under the canopy, and then refused to help us with luggage. We later realized there was a room with luggage racks, in which a hotel employee was sitting on a cart. Very disappointed with value for price.”

• The hot tub was Luke warm at best, pool had light out, could hear other doors bang shut from hall.

• The location was great, the staff allowed us to have a late checkout due to our race.
• The swimming pool was very dirty.

“The Crowned Plaza overall was a good choice for us. While we didn't have a great view from our room it was a clean and comfortable room. We were disappointed with the swimming pool, it wasn't so clean. I would though stay at this hotel again.”

“I don't understand how such an expensive place can have such dirty rooms and no free internet access. 3 other hotels right next to crowne had free internet. At crowne, you pay $10 per DAY. What a rip-off.”

• We loved the pool - on the top floor of the hotel  neat.
• I can't think of anything.

“We are a tough family to please - with two, four, and six year old children. However the kids were more than pleased with a pizzeria next door and a very nice pool and hot tub on the top floor of the hotel.”

• I enjoyed the fact that they let me choose what floor I wanted. I was surprised by the reasonable prices of drinks in the bar.
• Had high floor for scenery, but windows were dirty? Room service dishes were left out in aisle from evening till checkout.

“Overall, I found this to be an enjoyable experience. Very comfortable beds and my wife and I loved the shower head, very relaxing. Windows were all smudged up and room service dishes were left all night and were still there when we checked out the next day @ 11:00a.m. Prices in bar were very reasonable but bartender seemed to have difficulty not flirting with the cocktail waitress.”

• Beautiful inside and had a star bucks.
• There was blood on the duvet cover and an even larger blood spot on the blanket underneath. Neither was laundered.

“The blood on duvet cover and blanket had not been laundered. This is unacceptable for a 3 1/2 star hotel. Room service line was busy for 30 min. I called front desk and nobody answered for approximately 100 rings. Finally someone answered and had room service call me approximately 30 min. Later. This was at 7:00 pm. The lobby and restaurants are beautiful however my experience was unfavorable.”

“The room we had was on the 11TH floor back and the view of the river was nice the room was big. The room was not dirty but it could use a little deep cleaning. The staff was good. All & all it was a very comfortable hotel and I would recommend it to any one.”

• Rooms were spotless and beds had upscale linens and feather pillows.
• No continental breakfast or complimentary coffee.

“Fabulous swimming pool on the roof. The paint motif around the pool was bright and cheerful. The rooms were a nice size and the beds were extremely comfortable My only complaint was that the hotel was busy and noisy. There were children and adults running up and down the halls at 2 a.m. The hotel did provide guests w/complimentary ear plugs and soothing music, as well as a face mask to darken the room.”

• It was loud if you were close to the elevators..

• It was very clean with nice rooms and very friendly staff.
• Some kids pulled the fire alarm 2 times and we were on the 8th floor awful.

“I was a little disappointed that they did not offer to make some type of adjustment for the fire alarm thing. but it was a decent place to stay. Overall it was good.”

• Comfortable beds, impeccably clean.
• The restaurants listed in the back of their hotel guide were gross. We visited two of the three and felt that the ads were misleading.

“Our stay was perfect. The beds were extremely comfortable & the room (my girlfriend is VERY PARANOID about the cleanliness of hotel rooms) was very clean, even to her standards. If you go to Springfield, I highly recommend this hotel... although don't eat at their hotel restaurant (way overpriced) & don't take their recommendations. The restaurants listed in the back of their hotel catalog were GROSS. Filthy!”

“I enjoyed the hotel very much. It was conveniently located next to several restaurants and shopping areas. However, between the wedding reception and two class reunions, there were lots of very drunk people wandering in the hotel from about 11pm to 5 am, yelling and pounding on doors. I got very little sleep.”

• I forgot to pack my comb, and the front desk sent one to our room within 3 minutes!
• One of the light bulbs in the bathroom needed replaced.

“We were very pleased with our stay at the Crowne Plaza in Springfield, Illinois. Our room was exceptionally clean, and included a few little luxuries, such as lavender linen spray, a sleep mask, and a sleep CD. All staff that we interacted with were friendly, helpful, and professionally dressed. It is a beautiful property, inside and out. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!”

• Pool water need to be cleaned and pool and hot tub both need the walls clean and/or painted.

“Well maintained high quality hotel. Definitely meets the star rating. Location is not convenient to any activities or shopping but does have many good eating choices within walking distance. Easy access to the highways and easy to find.”

“This is a very upscale hotel, very nice. It's nice that you don't have to pay for parking, like you do with the downtown hotels. I didn't like that there was no continental breakfast included (especially at the room rates they charge!). I also think it's weird that the check-in is on the 2nd floor...kind of confusing and inconvenient.”

• The hotel was very nice for us, as we can't normally afford such a hotel. The extras were nice.
• The water pressure wasn't great.

“The hotel room was very nice and helped us to relax and feel pampered. The neighborhood did not fit the atmosphere of the hotel. If you stay here you have to go to the top floor and out on the patio to take in the view of Springfield.”

• Dirty Coffee mug found when we made coffee and allow smoking in non smoking rooms.

“Overall nice, however it was upsetting to find one of the two "clean" coffee mugs was in fact used and not replaced which is upsetting. What else was dirty??? Not a good thing to find first thing in the morning when you want a cup of coffee. Also, the room smelled like a smoking room when it was a non smoking room and found ash tray in the room from previous party.”

• Room 78 degrees - no air, pool closed.

“The hotel was very easy to find and parking was available. Staff very friendly and our room was nice and clean. However the room never got cooler than 78 degrees and the pool was closed. When we called about the air, we were told that "we've been having problems with our air conditioning.".”

• We were given a complimentary upgrade and had a wonderful romantic weekend.
• Beauty pageant was going on at the same time (need I say more) Actually wasn't bad but elevators were slow.

“Romantic, efficient, excellent customer service, wonderful amenities. Nicer than the Marriott, comparable to the Four Seasons in some ways at Marriott prices. Would love to go there again.”

• I liked the atmosphere and ambiance of the bar and lobby.
• Thought the rooms were a little pricey.

“Very spacious with lots of space to gather for small talk in lobby, bar and other seating areas. The pool area was away from everything. The kids could enjoy their fun while you kept and eye on them and relaxed at the same time. This hotel is great for conventions and meetings but you could still take the family along and they could enjoy also. Lots of dining in area and in hotel.”
