• Parking was free.
• They did not have queen size beds.

“Basically good. The room we were in appeared to have been remodeled, but they left the old light switches and face plates and they were worn/dirty looking. They did not have queen beds in the rooms that weren't king and acted like we were out of line asking about it. It was basically a nice place for business but for a romantic weekend away it didn't do it for us. We were also disappointed in the location. It was on the edge of town near other hotels, etc and we thought it would be in the downtown area.”

• Awesome staff, beautiful inside, the bathroom floors were sparkling! Fantastic hotel!
• The mini-fridge didn't have a little freezer in it to refreeze our travel ice pack.

“This was the best hotel we've ever stayed in! The bellman was so friendly and professional - he also showed great empathy for us as we were in town for a funeral. The bathroom appeared to be cleaner than mine at home! Usually I feel like hotels are kind of grimy regardless of how well it's been cleaned but this one didn't feel that way at all. Kudos to the cleaning staff! Our 4 year old wanted to go back - we wish we were in town for a better reason and could have had more time to enjoy the hotel.”

• Comfortable bed; nice view from room.
• Pool too chlorinated; no complimentary coffee in lobby.

“Nice place to stay. I would have liked to have free wireless internet, but it was $10/day. Also, other Crowne Plaza hotels have a nice coffee service in the lobby for guests. This one has a Starbucks, not exactly complimentary. Other than that, the hotel was fine.”

“From the moment we drove up to the time we left, we were treated with the greatest respect and hospitality. Great service staff! Each employee we came in contact with took the times to tell us about the services of the hotel and the best Lincoln sites to visit. Very enjoyable time. I would recommend this hotel to both the everyday vacationer who wants a little more than a room and a bed to the hurried business traveler. Great Job!”

• The hallways & common areas smelled horrible due to a power outage that shut down the air conditioning for 3 hours.

“I've stayed at this Crown Plaza many times for business & always have a pleasant experience. This particular day there had been a storm in the afternoon. When I arrived that evening the hallways & common areas smelled horrible due to a power outage that shut down the air conditioning for 3 hours. The smell was obviously coming from the carpet in the humid summer heat. The scary thing is that the smell & it's origin are probably always there but are controlled or covered up by the buildings' HVAC. This is a beautiful, clean hotel with good service but I wouldn't dare walk around with bare feet. Can you imagine what's lurking in other hotel carpets.”

• Service at the Starbucks counter was slow and uncertain of what to do.

“I would have been unhappy with my stay. They forgot my wakeup call, housekeeping did not come by, and the alarm clock and remote control were nonfunctional. I had planned to let them know about these things when I checked out, but the clerk at the desk was dismissive and failed to even ask how my stay had gone. The room itself was comfortable and well-furnished. I slept very well. Luckily I had set my cell phone alarm, just in case! I am very unlikely to choose this hotel in the future, or to recommend it to anyone who is looking for good service. The staff did a poor job of convincing me to become a repeat customer.”

• Lobby appearance reminded me of the last days of Roman Empire.

“The Crown Plaza provided unexpected amenities such as sleep aids: mask, earplugs, relaxation CD. The rooms were large, fresh, very clean and well equipped. The view of the city from the rooftop pool was excellent. Staff was cordial and helpful, but not intrusive.”

“Wow! I walked in and I couldn't get over it. The lobby was spacious and welcoming! The parking lot was big. The room was cozy and comfortable. I like the pool area. I was able to do some laps to unwind from a 3.5 hour drive and there were several people on the roof watching the sunset.”

• The room was large and well appointed with a very comfortable bed.
• There were no towels in the pool area. The whirlpool and sauna were not working properly.

“The hotel was a great value for the price. Overall, I was very pleased with my stay. The refrigerator in my room made a humming, siren type sound, but maintenance came and fixed it promptly. The pool and deck area is very nice but loud. I was disappointed that there were no towels available. The sauna and whirlpool were not working properly. The bed was very comfortable and the sleep advantage package was a nice touch.”

• The courtyard at the top of the hotel.
• The doors to the pool were awkward to enter and exit.

“This hotel is a great 3 star. The pool had too much chlorine in it and burnt the eyes of the adults that were watching children. The courtyard atop the hotel and adjacent to the pool was a view to behold. Especially at sunset but didn't have enough tables and chairs.”

“When I called the front desk to ask for the closest emergency room or prompt care clinic, they put me on hold to transfer me and no one ever came back on the phone. Glad it wasn't life or death. • Chlorine in pool too strong.

“This hotel is a pleasant environment for business or leisure. It is kid friendly and the staff is very accommodating. Located in a business sector near the Illinois Department of Transportation and Secretary of State. Shopping is a convenient trip across the road. Antique shops are near buy for treasure hunters. The Lake of Springfield is just minutes away for a little sightseeing.”

• They opened the Fitness Center earlier than the time stated because I requested that they do so.
• The smell of the room, it spelled like state smoke and it was suppose to be a non smoking room.

“The hotel check in and out was a breeze the staff was friendly. The room smelled of stale smoke and it was suppose to be a non smoking room. I asked for a King and I was given a double, the lock on the door was somewhat damaged and the ice machine on the floor I was on was broken. The fitness center was well taken care of, as was the interior of the hotel. Lighting in the room was good.”

“Excellent Convention hotel. Location is very accessible off of Interstate I-55. Hotel is 10 minutes from Lincoln museum and Illinois Capitol sites. Swimming pool is on the top 14th floor, accessible with Room Key. It is very basic, could use some freshening to make it look more appealing.”

• The rooms were updated and clean. Pool was big and plenty of room for the kids. Beds were very nice.
• Not much to say about that.

“We had researched some of the other hotels in the area. Most were not updated and did not have restaurants that were open in the hotel itself. The pools were small in the other hotels and run down. This was a lovely hotel.”

• Fantastic hotel great spot it was surrounded by at least 15 different places to eat and shop as well!
• The beds were too soft and uncomfortable we were in a handicap room and the beds were impossible to get in and out of!

• Location, safeness, friendly staff, accommodating staff.
• Dirty sock left on couch and 1/2 used bottle of lotion.

“With the exception of finding a dirty sock on the couch and the lotion bottle was have used up, the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Nice size room. We enjoyed our stay.”
