“card reader didn't work at first. Carpeting looks horrible throughout entire hotel. Staff member was friendly, and funny. There were probably a hundred empty rooms and they put people in the rooms right next to me.” Jul 22, 2009 by
Tammy from Washington,IL
“I was not pleased with this hotel at all. It was not clean, had workers who were not professional, the water was not hot, and the Internet did not work.” Jul 4, 2009 by
Dee from Jacksonville,IL
“The staff was friendly and helpful. It will be good when this hotel is sold from the people who own it. They have allowed some of the items (carpets and doors) to become worn and old.” May 9, 2009 by
Orval from Springfield, Mo
“There were stains on blanket of one bed and carpet was not clean, wrinkled carpet in hallways. Continental breakfast was the poorest of any hotel have stayed in. Allowed smoking in nonsmoking room across hall.” Mar 18, 2009 by
mike from chicago
“Tried 3 different rooms before opting to leave. The bed reeked of sweat and body odor. Floors filthy, bed sheets have not seen a washer for many moons. Each room smelled worse than the last one. Could not be more disgusted with this place. The blanket had a long brown colored streak type stain on it. Use your imagination. But stay elsewhere whatever you do.” Mar 14, 2009 by
Natalie from Black River Falls
“I have never stayed in a filthier hotel room. They should charge by the hour instead of by the day.” Nov 11, 2008 by
Brad from Wheaton,IL
“This was a nice motel for the 1 star level. The room was spacious and it had a refrigerator/freezer w/microwave. There was a pool, exercise room and a free continental breakfast. This motel met my expectations.” Sep 22, 2008 by
Leona from White Lake, Michigan
“Everything from dirty carpet, dirty bathroom floors, rooms smelled horrible, a full breakfast that did not happen (only coffee and rolls). This is the kind of hotel you would find for a one night stand it was so bad. Warning! Do not stay at this hotel.” Aug 21, 2008 by
Jeramie from Creal Springs, IL
“Please be aware that this hotel is a health hazard due to it lack of cleanliness. Problems that I outlined to them in a series of emails and calls to their customer service. This hotel was so dirty and posed so many hazards we were forced to check into another hotel.” Aug 19, 2008 by
Tammy from Bloomington, IL
“I can not review this hotel, I can only say that we will not ever stay in this hotel again. I was very disappointed that this was considered a Signature Inn.” Aug 13, 2008 by
G from Bloomington, IL
“I was unhappy with the fact that, for a non-smoking room, I had to look around and see if there was an ashtray. Also, the air conditioner performed poorly in terms of cooling and removing humidity.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Bryan from Moline, IL
“Dirty room, back door to building un locked. A very low quality motel.” Aug 7, 2008 by
De D. from Chapin, IL
“Convenient on/off interstate plenty of restaurants to choose from.” Jul 25, 2008 by
Joe from Grass Valley, CA
“I would not recommend this hotel. Its time has passed. Friendly staff, quiet and good internet access but it that's it. But this can't outweigh how dirty and rundown it is.” Jul 18, 2008 by
Mary from Chicago, IL
“Hotel was nice but if going on vacation would have liked to have use of pool and when going for breakfast should have full array of what they offer not have to wait for someone to pick up.” Jul 16, 2008 by
Don from Scottsdale, AZ
“A nice place to stay.” Jul 13, 2008 by
Matthew
“Although my stay wasn't as bad as others I read before staying at this hotel, it certainly wasn't a 2* hotel! It's obviously a very old hotel, the carpets were dirty and stained, the ceiling had holes and marks in it, and the tables in dining area has this permanent stickiness to them. Although the staff wasn't terrible, the hotel definitely needs to be updated and remodeled.” Jul 9, 2008 by
Laura from Chicago, IL
“The linens need to be addressed, pillows were old and flat, and sheets didn't fit beds and wouldn't stay on. We stayed for 4 nights 2 of the 4 the room was not cleaned at all, 1 of the 4 only half the room was cleaned (only one bed made) we were told there was something 'prohibiting them from cleaning the room' when we arrived there was not toilet paper called to get some and ended up walking down for it ourselves The breakfast while nice and had many items, the items were stale/dried out.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Daphne from Chapin, IL
“Fit my needs and I would stay there again.” Jun 16, 2008 by
Mike from Gardner, IL
“The water in the showers did not drain very quickly. I stayed for a few nights and due to the appearance of the staff. I did not feel comfortable allowing them to clean or enter my room when I was not present. Again the hotel was very uncleanly.” Jun 9, 2008 by
Thomas from Rockford, MI
“Basically dirty and smelly in our room. The staff tried to clean but it was superficial. Needs a good airing out or something. I would not stay there again. Too much noise, lots of congestion in our hallway all night long, little kids running all night long, disappointing for us to drive that far for that” Jun 9, 2008 by
Richard from Clinton, IA
“Everything about the motel was good except the cleanliness of the carpets. Housekeeping staff didn't leave enough towels, shampoo and soap for our second day. Management is not meeting their responsibility to train their personnel. Front desk personnel were very accommodating except for the first day when we checked in. She could have been replaced by a robot.” Jun 9, 2008 by
Melanie from Marion, IL
“Floors sticky, carpet very dirty, not sure the room had even been cleaned after the last several guests. Coffeemaker broken. Frig broken. Would not stay there again.” Jun 5, 2008 by
Connie from Lowell, MI
“Do not stay here!” Jun 4, 2008 by
Barbara from Negaunee, MI
“The hotel was friendly, clean and helpful. The breakfast they served was great. A nice verity of items. I would recommend it to any one.” May 31, 2008 by
Jenny from Creve Coeur, MO
“Great hotel for the price, but not very well kept. Torn carpet and wallpaper, mildew shower, pool needs to be re surfaced/painted. It was nothing that made us uncomfortable, but the hotel felt like it was falling apart.” May 31, 2008 by
Michael from St Loiis, MO
“This hotel appeared to be old, worn and has seen better days. The furnishings and carpet appeared original. The hotel lobby was also weathered and worn. The windows were covered with mold and the room had a stale, moldy aroma. All in all for the price, the room was still a good value, even if it was old, worn and depressing looking. Thank you.” May 28, 2008 by
John from Bluffton, IN
“The hotel had buildings that were not connected to the main building. To get breakfast I had to walk 200ft outside in the rain. The buildings were not particularly well maintained with stains on the carpet. The hotel was also in a neighborhood that seemed to be unsafe (police reports were filed by others at front desk during our stay). If the hotel was one building and well cleaned, it would have been worth the money.” May 27, 2008 by
Em from Morton, IL
“It was an ok place to stay for the night. We were satisfied.” May 27, 2008 by
Dennis
“This hotel is in dire need of some improvements. The carpets are torn and stained which gives the hotel a dirty runs down look. The bathtub had mold around the seams. They room had been vacuumed and the carpet looked cleaned but the stains tell the story. They are part of the Jameson hotel group; I hope all their other properties don't portray the same atmosphere. At this point if I know the hotel is part of this group I would look else where.” May 22, 2008 by
Gina from Bunker Hill, IL
“Overall, my children and I had a great time. We could only swim for a short time because of the chlorine levels. The microwave and fridge in the room were a nice touch. Cleanliness needed to be stepped up.” May 21, 2008 by
Susan from Southlake, TX
“It is in a good location for traveling and was adequate - nothing fancy but it served our purpose. It was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.” May 19, 2008 by
Deb from Unionville, MO
“Dead bugs on the floor, multiple stains on carpet. Bathtub was black from mold. Stayed across the street because I could not stand to stay at such a dirty place.” May 18, 2008 by
Dan from Mattoon, IL
“Not a good place to stay for the money. My first room had a broken phone, internet didn't not work and was very dirty. By the time I got to a new room, I was very unhappy. I would not recommend this hotel to any of my business partners.” May 15, 2008 by
Tony from Sandwich, IL
“It was easy to locate this hotel as it was right off the interstate exit. However, I immediately wondered if the hotel was even open as I did not see any cars parked by the north wing or in front of the front desk. There were a couple cars parked along the west side and the lobby was very nice when I walked in. The room was basic but the bedding and carpeting needed updating. The room could have used some more lighting as the main part of the room was lit by a dim light above the desk and a lamp in the corner of the room. There was plenty in the room with a cabinet for hanging clothes which also held the TV, a chair, microwave, mini-fridge and bed. The wireless internet was very slow though.” May 15, 2008 by
Elena from Rock Island, IL
“We will never again try for anything less than a 3-star. The carpet needed replaced, and the whole hotel needed cleaned and updated.” May 7, 2008 by
Paula from Washington, IL
“Needs new tubs, flooring, pillows. Door from outside into the hall where my room was would not lock - meaning no security. I guess it would be fine for a 1 star, but not anything else.” May 6, 2008 by
Dan from Marion, IL
“Much better than I thought. For a 2 star, it well exceeded my expectations.” May 4, 2008 by
Lou A. from Shannon, IL
“I was extremely disappointed in this hotel. When I clicked on the explanation for the star rating, it mentioned hotels like Comfort Inn and Holiday Inn Express. It was not of this caliber at all.” Apr 29, 2008 by
Terry “This is an older hotel that could use an update on carpet, etc but it is very clean. I was amazed how clean they hotel was. It was quiet and easy to find with plenty of restaurants nearby.” Apr 28, 2008 by
Becky from Marengo, IL
“Easy to get to and close to the interstate. However, whole hotel is older and they need to keep up with the maintenance.” Mar 27, 2008 by
Leonard from Galena, IL
“I would not recommend this motel to anyone.” Mar 17, 2008 by
Cathy from Champaign, IL
“I would not recommend staying at this hotel if you can afford anything else. It should be torn down immediately.” Jan 24, 2008 by
Sarah from Quincy, IL
“We left after the first night. Nonsmoking room had ashes all over the bathroom. The room had so much air freshener it was hard to breath. Breakfast was not restocked, by 8am everything was down to the dregs, spills and messes everywhere. I hated it.” Aug 16, 2007 by
harold from mississipi
“Rooms and staff were good staff was polite and you seen a lot of team effort everywhere.” Aug 16, 2007 by
maryann mlillian from peoria
“House keeping was ok. Rooms could be better if maintenance issues were done like tubs, carpets but its an old hotel so you cant expect the Ritz Carlton. Manager was nice and helpful along with head house keeper they were a good team.” Jul 23, 2007 by
Robin from Flanagan
“We as a family find this hotel a disgrace and it should not be allowed to be open. When we went to our rooms we opened the door and found smoking material in a non smoking room. We needed a handicapped room for my father and found out none of the rooms a handicapped friendly. We went away to relax and ended up very frustrated! We were stuck because there was so much go on in Springfield every thing was booked.” Aug 19, 2006 by
Patty from Homewood, IL
“We stayed here to attend the state fair. I was disappointed. The rug in the room was stained in many places. The bathroom was very worn out. The tub was stained dull and grey. The grout was patched in many places with rubber patching that looked lousy. The sink had one setting: very high and splashed everywhere. There were strange plumbing noises in the walls (we were right next to the ice making machine). The room curtains wouldn't close fully, which was a problem being on the first floor. I had to buy clips to hold the curtains closed. One of the lights next to the beds was burned out. The refrigerator wasn't turned on, which we didn't notice until the next day when nothing stayed cold. It was strange because the freezer part was working. There were only a few styrofoam cups in the room. When in the spirit of conservation we agreed to just having the room "freshened", they took the used towels and left us even less for the next day. The free continental breakfast wasn't very special. The vending machine near our room was completely out of soda Saturday evening. I had to wait 10 minutes at the desk to ask where there might be another machine so I could buy soda. The one desk clerk was very, very busy. The woman in line in front of me was complaining because it was 7 pm and their room had not been cleaned, their family had just finished swimming and they had no clean towels in their room. We were glad to leave. The desk people were very friendly, but they spent an awful lot of time apologizing to people.” 1 of 2 people found this review helpful.Aug 7, 2006 by

“The tub/Shower head height was too low for us since we were 5'7"-5'10" tall and we had to dunk down in order to take a shower. ” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 25, 2006 by
Travis Jonas from New Florence
“Although the Hotel is in need of a remodel, the hotel is in excellent shape and the rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly and efficient. The continental breakfast is one of the best I have had. ” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.
