“card reader didn't work at first. Carpeting looks horrible throughout entire hotel. Staff member was friendly, and funny. There were probably a hundred empty rooms and they put people in the rooms right next to me.”

• Convenient location - just off the expressway.
• The carpets were worn, buckled, and dingy - to be fair, the firm is selling the hotel.

“The staff was friendly and helpful. It will be good when this hotel is sold from the people who own it. They have allowed some of the items (carpets and doors) to become worn and old.”

“There were stains on blanket of one bed and carpet was not clean, wrinkled carpet in hallways. Continental breakfast was the poorest of any hotel have stayed in. Allowed smoking in nonsmoking room across hall.”

“Tried 3 different rooms before opting to leave. The bed reeked of sweat and body odor. Floors filthy, bed sheets have not seen a washer for many moons. Each room smelled worse than the last one. Could not be more disgusted with this place. The blanket had a long brown colored streak type stain on it. Use your imagination. But stay elsewhere whatever you do.”

• There was a microwave and refrigerator/freezer in room.
• Carousel in microwave needed to be cleaned.

“This was a nice motel for the 1 star level. The room was spacious and it had a refrigerator/freezer w/microwave. There was a pool, exercise room and a free continental breakfast. This motel met my expectations.”

“Please be aware that this hotel is a health hazard due to it lack of cleanliness. Problems that I outlined to them in a series of emails and calls to their customer service. This hotel was so dirty and posed so many hazards we were forced to check into another hotel.”

• The room was very shabby, there were cigarette burns in the carpet and we found some dead bugs in the bathroom. The refrigerator ran all night long.

“I can not review this hotel, I can only say that we will not ever stay in this hotel again. I was very disappointed that this was considered a Signature Inn.”

• Employees were great, location was just right.
• Was non-smoking room, very smoky, also humid, poor AC.

“I was unhappy with the fact that, for a non-smoking room, I had to look around and see if there was an ashtray. Also, the air conditioner performed poorly in terms of cooling and removing humidity.”

“I would not recommend this hotel. Its time has passed. Friendly staff, quiet and good internet access but it that's it. But this can't outweigh how dirty and rundown it is.”

• The staff was nice.
• Everything, it was old, dirty, in need of serious repair.

“Although my stay wasn't as bad as others I read before staying at this hotel, it certainly wasn't a 2* hotel! It's obviously a very old hotel, the carpets were dirty and stained, the ceiling had holes and marks in it, and the tables in dining area has this permanent stickiness to them. Although the staff wasn't terrible, the hotel definitely needs to be updated and remodeled.”

• I've stayed at this hotel before, I had liked it location and ease with kids.
• They didn't clean the rooms, halls were dirty.

“The linens need to be addressed, pillows were old and flat, and sheets didn't fit beds and wouldn't stay on. We stayed for 4 nights 2 of the 4 the room was not cleaned at all, 1 of the 4 only half the room was cleaned (only one bed made) we were told there was something 'prohibiting them from cleaning the room' when we arrived there was not toilet paper called to get some and ended up walking down for it ourselves The breakfast while nice and had many items, the items were stale/dried out.”

• The price was right.
• Was not clean, most of staff looked like they were on parole.

“The water in the showers did not drain very quickly. I stayed for a few nights and due to the appearance of the staff. I did not feel comfortable allowing them to clean or enter my room when I was not present. Again the hotel was very uncleanly.”

“Basically dirty and smelly in our room. The staff tried to clean but it was superficial. Needs a good airing out or something. I would not stay there again. Too much noise, lots of congestion in our hallway all night long, little kids running all night long, disappointing for us to drive that far for that”

• The lobby, pool, breakfast area were all spacious.
• Housekeeping staff needs more supervision. This is a role for management.

“Everything about the motel was good except the cleanliness of the carpets. Housekeeping staff didn't leave enough towels, shampoo and soap for our second day. Management is not meeting their responsibility to train their personnel. Front desk personnel were very accommodating except for the first day when we checked in. She could have been replaced by a robot.”

“This hotel appeared to be old, worn and has seen better days. The furnishings and carpet appeared original. The hotel lobby was also weathered and worn. The windows were covered with mold and the room had a stale, moldy aroma. All in all for the price, the room was still a good value, even if it was old, worn and depressing looking. Thank you.”

• I did not like the security.

“The hotel had buildings that were not connected to the main building. To get breakfast I had to walk 200ft outside in the rain. The buildings were not particularly well maintained with stains on the carpet. The hotel was also in a neighborhood that seemed to be unsafe (police reports were filed by others at front desk during our stay). If the hotel was one building and well cleaned, it would have been worth the money.”

• The deluxe continental breakfast was good.
• It was in good shape, but the decor was ancient. Dark wood doors and cabinetry. The bed was a little uncomfortable too.

• Run down, carpet torn and stained, bath has mold.

“This hotel is in dire need of some improvements. The carpets are torn and stained which gives the hotel a dirty runs down look. The bathtub had mold around the seams. They room had been vacuumed and the carpet looked cleaned but the stains tell the story. They are part of the Jameson hotel group; I hope all their other properties don't portray the same atmosphere. At this point if I know the hotel is part of this group I would look else where.”

“Overall, my children and I had a great time. We could only swim for a short time because of the chlorine levels. The microwave and fridge in the room were a nice touch. Cleanliness needed to be stepped up.”

• It seems run down - needs updating with carpet, bathroom but it was clean.

• Far from a 2 star. Dirty! Internet would not work, etc.

“Not a good place to stay for the money. My first room had a broken phone, internet didn't not work and was very dirty. By the time I got to a new room, I was very unhappy. I would not recommend this hotel to any of my business partners.”

• Proximity to restaurants and the interstate.
• Wireless internet was very slow and room did not have enough lights.

“It was easy to locate this hotel as it was right off the interstate exit. However, I immediately wondered if the hotel was even open as I did not see any cars parked by the north wing or in front of the front desk. There were a couple cars parked along the west side and the lobby was very nice when I walked in. The room was basic but the bedding and carpeting needed updating. The room could have used some more lighting as the main part of the room was lit by a dim light above the desk and a lamp in the corner of the room. There was plenty in the room with a cabinet for hanging clothes which also held the TV, a chair, microwave, mini-fridge and bed. The wireless internet was very slow though.”

• The room and hallways were dirty. The beds were ok but not very comfortable.

“I was extremely disappointed in this hotel. When I clicked on the explanation for the star rating, it mentioned hotels like Comfort Inn and Holiday Inn Express. It was not of this caliber at all.”

• There was one staff person at the desk who was working hard to check folks in while two others were talking about something totally unrelated to work.
• Downtrodden, outdated, uncomfortable beds, creepy looking, - just awful.

“I would not recommend staying at this hotel if you can afford anything else. It should be torn down immediately.”

• The pool looked nice - we didn't get in.

“We left after the first night. Nonsmoking room had ashes all over the bathroom. The room had so much air freshener it was hard to breath. Breakfast was not restocked, by 8am everything was down to the dregs, spills and messes everywhere. I hated it.”

• The children enjoyed the pool.
• Every thing else was not worth the stay.

“We as a family find this hotel a disgrace and it should not be allowed to be open. When we went to our rooms we opened the door and found smoking material in a non smoking room. We needed a handicapped room for my father and found out none of the rooms a handicapped friendly. We went away to relax and ended up very frustrated! We were stuck because there was so much go on in Springfield every thing was booked.”

• The desk staff was friendly.
• The room was very worn out, burned out light bulbs, drapes didn't close properly.

“We stayed here to attend the state fair. I was disappointed. The rug in the room was stained in many places. The bathroom was very worn out. The tub was stained dull and grey. The grout was patched in many places with rubber patching that looked lousy. The sink had one setting: very high and splashed everywhere. There were strange plumbing noises in the walls (we were right next to the ice making machine). The room curtains wouldn't close fully, which was a problem being on the first floor. I had to buy clips to hold the curtains closed. One of the lights next to the beds was burned out. The refrigerator wasn't turned on, which we didn't notice until the next day when nothing stayed cold. It was strange because the freezer part was working. There were only a few styrofoam cups in the room. When in the spirit of conservation we agreed to just having the room "freshened", they took the used towels and left us even less for the next day. The free continental breakfast wasn't very special. The vending machine near our room was completely out of soda Saturday evening. I had to wait 10 minutes at the desk to ask where there might be another machine so I could buy soda. The one desk clerk was very, very busy. The woman in line in front of me was complaining because it was 7 pm and their room had not been cleaned, their family had just finished swimming and they had no clean towels in their room. We were glad to leave. The desk people were very friendly, but they spent an awful lot of time apologizing to people.”

• The pool/fitness center.
• The tub/shower head height and the was always extremely cold.

“The tub/Shower head height was too low for us since we were 5'7"-5'10" tall and we had to dunk down in order to take a shower. ”

• The indoor heated swimming pool.
• Lack of remodel.

“Although the Hotel is in need of a remodel, the hotel is in excellent shape and the rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly and efficient. The continental breakfast is one of the best I have had. ”
