• The staff was excellent.
• The only thing we were disappointed in is that there was little choice in TV stations.

“This is our second time staying at the Hyatt Place and we enjoyed both. It is an excellent hotel. We will try again next year for our Thanksgiving holidays. We spent some hours at the hotel in the late evenings and had a hard time finding something on TV to watch. So we read.”

• Location.
• The maid did not know how to clean. Bathtub was not clean.

“I had to ask for my tub to be cleaned. It was not cleaned from prior guest! That is really nasty. Not only hair in bathroom but splatter in bathroom wall. When
I asked for maid to do a better job and then I would tip good, she cleaned (a quick whip down). Need new staff for maids.”

• The rooms were amazing, beautiful, and clean. The huge flat-screen TV. was awesome, too.
• The continental breakfast was basically just cereal and toast, but they did have Starbucks coffee.

“This hotel was one of the best I'd ever stayed at. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The lobby was modern and welcoming. The room was a home away from home beautifully decorated and so clean. We loved this hotel, and plan to stay here the next time we visit Memphis.”

• Clean lobby and eating areas.
• Bathroom door would not shut and the sink was not in the bathroom.

“This hotel is great for business travelers or couples, but the bathroom arrangement was difficult since we were traveling with a toddler. The sink and mirror were in the bedroom, not the bathroom so it made it difficult to dry hair and brush teeth while anyone else was sleeping or watching TV. Other than that, everything was nice, great TV and sofa area.”

• Hotel room ceiling damage / breakfast ran out of food.

“It did bother me that they didn't realize the ceiling had water damage. We really loved the hotel for the most part. The food was good at breakfast but they ran out of food. I ordered room service and had to go down to pick it up. It would have been nice to have them bring it up. The staff was helpful and very nice. I felt sorry for the lady running the breakfast. She was very nice but needed more food and help. The decoration was very nice and we would stay again. We had a nice stay.”

• The beds are really comfortable. It has an approx 60" flat screen TV, refrigerator and sofa sleeper.
• The closet and bathroom space could be larger. They are smaller but overall it's okay.

“The hotel is very attractive from the outside. The lobby area is really nice and clean. The self check In is convenient as you walk through the door of the hotel. It's in a good place with different places to shop and eat. It's a good place to take your family. Thank you!”

• The Location was close to all the major attractions, mall, movies, etc.
• That I didn't stay longer.

• I enjoyed the decorative colors & finishes of the hotel, and the polished friendly staff.
• The pillows were too large (in terms of depth, i.e., too poofy could not use them comfortably under neck).

“I enjoyed the hotel's warm colors and friendly staff as well as the nearby children's sand park where I managed to get in a work out and meditate under some trees. Great hotel, quiet location!”

• The makeover was fabulous from the lobby entrance to the rooms themselves. Loved it.
• Nothing. This was a very enjoyable visit. Would use again.

“It was ok when I stayed last time. Now that it has new ownership and has been renovated, it is great! I think the star rating should go up to at least a 3. The staff was friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean, the complimentary breakfast was great in a home-like atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised.”

• Very new, clean, and nicely decorated. Huge TV.
• Air conditioner made noise.

“Loved this hotel. We will stay here again. It is very convenient to shopping. My husband and I loved the decor of the room and he especially loved the huge flat screen TV. No breakfast just a few muffins, but IHop is near.”

• The rooms had nice TVs.
• The check in/out staff was not very knowledgeable.

“The rooms are very nice but there were a few things that I was not impressed with. I could tell the hotel was not new so I asked the hotel staff if the hotel was remodeled from an old hotel, and it is the third hotel established in that building, it was obvious because I could still see some major flaws in the construction work. When I was checking out it took at least 45 minutes. They could not just print out the receipt and let me be on my way. They ended up charging my room to the wrong person the first time and they didn't even realize it. I had to tell them that address and the card number on the receipt was not mine. I would not stay here again unless I could pay a lot less.”

• Bed and television were excellent.
• They put me in a room for physically challenged people - although the room was larger, bathroom facilities were different.

“Excellent bed and TV - 42 inch flat screen, HD, with hookups for everything you would need. Continental breakfast is very good and the staff were extremely nice and friendly and went out of their way to meet my needs. I definitely will stay at this hotel again.”

• They were still updating cable and lodgenet, so no ESPN.

“Great trendy hotel for the traveler. Big HDTV! When they get lodgenet to update their channel package, this will be the place I stay every time I go to Memphis.”

• It was in a convenient location.
• The rooms were sub par, although the hotel is expected to be renovated and finished by 12/25/07 as a Hyatt Place.

“This place had serious issues when it comes to the "breakfast". We stayed there two different times within 10 days of each other. The first time was great we had one of the rooms on the 6th floor that had already been refurbished. The second time was a doozy, stuck on the 1st floor, with a runny toilet. Also neither morning, for two totally different stays, did the staff seem prepared for breakfast. The second time the coffee maker wasn't working.”

• The suites offered great space and were nicely decorated.
• This hotel was under renovation, breakfast was in a cramped meeting room.

“While the room was beautiful, this hotel is being renovated to become a Hyatt place hotel. Having said that, the entrance was heavily under construction. The cramped meeting room was not a great place to serve the breakfast and the options were slim at breakfast as there was not enough staff to keep things filled. Eggs were cold, etc. I am sure it will be a lively place when it is completed, but I also believe while the room met our expectations; the remaining areas did not, not even a vending machine available.”

“The hotel was being renovated which would have been nice to know. I didn't appreciate the hammering starting at 7:00 a.m. Possible very overdue for a facelift. Located at the back of a busy, shopping area was a pain to navigate.”

“This is the only hotel out of about 20 that I seriously thought about asking for my money back. It was going through a major renovation, which normally isn't that bad, but my kid could have fallen in the 2 foot trench going right through the hallway if I hadn't been watching her as closely. They had a terrible breakfast. Also, it was the first Amerisuites I've stayed in that only had 1 bed in the room with no couch.”

• Remolding put in the room besides the remolding. Dirty carpet, phone service did not work.

• Air did not work, I was put a room that has a complaint the night before for the air.

“Overall it was a good stay; I was put in a room with no air. It was brought to my attention that the people the day before had complained about the air and it was not fixed. The staff was gracious enough to put me in another room. It was an ok stay.”

• Pool is located in the parking lot.

“We were told the only smoking room available was a double handicap room so we agreed to take this room. We got to the room and there was no ashtray. We called the desk and were told that someone would bring up an ashtray. After an hour I call again and we were then informed that this was not a smoking room and that no ashtray would be provided. There was only 1 double bed which was very uncomfortable. This experience was nothing that I would ever recommend. We were very excited at first that we were booked at an Amerisuites as it is part of the Hyatt and we love the Hyatt but never again. We could have stayed in a Red Roof in for the quality that we received.”

• The complimentary breakfast. Selection fine but ran out of & didn't replace.

• Cable went out at 8 pm and was not on when we left at noon the next day.

• The extra bed, seating area, fridge, and microwave.
• The toilet was moldy as if it hadn't been cleaned in some time, and there was silly string hanging from the ceiling.

“Hotel staff claimed they had made note of our extended stay reservations after our first night, then we found ourselves locked out of the room when we returned in the afternoon. The hotels main smoke alarm was tripped while being serviced; it was frightening we thought the hotel was on fire.”

• I liked the location, hotel seemed clean.
• There were 3 of us (non smokers) with one king bed in a smoking room, stinky smoky hall!

“We were very disappointed with our room. My wife, myself and our son got a smoking room (we don't smoke) on a very stinky smoking floor (6th) with a king bed only. The continental breakfast was awful...waffle had funny taste, hot syrup was cold, fruit was mushy, eggs very mushy and goopy, sausage cold, one apple in the bowl had huge bad spot. I paid an all time high for this 2-1/2 star hotel and was extremely disappointed!”

“Good place to stay. It looks like a hotel in every way except for the bathroom sink, which is outside of the bathroom. Not sure whether to call it a motel or hotel. Great breakfast though and very friendly staff.”

• Everything. The place was awesome.
• Nothing. It was perfect.

“I would stay here again and again. I loved everything: the room was huge compared to most I've been in and was way roomy enough for my family, the pool was great and clean, the continental breakfast was Great. There was so much to choose from I had practically stuffed myself from the choices, the staff was very friendly and courteous, and the location was great because there were so many business like stores and restaurants. I would Highly recommend this hotel to anyone. We stayed in a hotel in Nashville during this trip and we thought that hotel was great and that no other could compare until we stayed in Memphis. I hope I get to stay there again.”
