• We went during off season, but I enjoyed the quietness.
• No exhaust system in bath. Toilet bowl loose.

“After reading other reviews, I was nervous about our stay. But I was happy with the room. It was tricky figuring out how to get in and out but I'm a quick learner. Only complaint as that breakfast in the restaurant was overpriced. A very tiny carton of milk and a waffle was $10. I had one waffle from a waffle iron that was not clean. Hotel staff was friendly. But I would go here again and recommend it to others.”

• The shower curtain on the curved rod.
• The rooms have not been updated at all...not normal 3 star hotel.

“Carpet was not clean in public areas. Outside drive up area was outdated and not very clean. No door man or valet parking offered...yet seemed like it was that kind of hotel. Lobby was boring. We needed one king or queen bed...had to take 2 fulls. The bed was hard and had a dip in the middle...very uncomfortable. Bedspreads were old. Toilet ran all night.”

• Convenient with lots of restaurant nearby. Good beds.
• Its just plain old worn out and in disrepair.

• Access route to the fitness center.

“Typical hotel; seemed clean. Though the hotel website stated it would, there was no mini fridge or microwave in the guest room. The route to the fitness center was pretty eerie. There should be simpler access to the fitness center.”

• Good price, convenient location, indoor pool, but it was very cold.

“Overall a pleasant stay. The elevators and carpet in public areas looks pretty bad. Room was quiet and clean. Indoor pool needs more heat. It was extremely cold. They gave me a room near a stairway door. I asked to change it. They gave me a room on the other end of hall, near a busier stairway door. Changed again and room was OK.”

• The hotel was not busy with people and allowed me to use many facilities without waiting.
• In the bathroom the ceiling was peeling over the toilet.

“This hotel was not a place I would use again with my spouse. I really was looking for a place for romance. This definitely was not the place. The swimming pool was inside and the area for sunbathing was on the ground facing the parking lot and main street.”

“The room was comfortable but the hotel itself was not a 3 star. The bed was nice but the overall cleanliness was not at that rating. One main issue was room service trays from the room next door were left for over 24hours outside on the floor.”

• Location.
• Everything else. Sure it was nice 25 years ago.

“This hotel is not a 3-Star hotel. Everything about the room was old and dirty. The A/C didn't work properly, the shower was dirty, the carpet is old and bad, the couch was stained and very dusty. The lobby wasn't too bad, but then you get off the elevator and walk back into 1985.”

• Right off the Interstate-convenient location.
• Tired pool and hot tub-had to take separate elevator to get there.

“Friendly front desk staff, helpful with directions, etc. Hotel is tired, showing its age. The access to the pool is through a separate elevator, and I did not feel comfortable walking around the area in my bare feet, so I did not use it.”

“This is a tired old Holiday Inn. Priceline should remove this from their 3 star hotels in East Memphis. The only redeeming quality is free parking and free shuttle to airport.”

• I was amazed that for what I spent how big my room ended up being.
• I didn't like being at the end of the hall by a busy stair well.

“The Holiday Inn far exceeded what I was looking for. The staff was above and beyond helpful in giving me directions to the sights and engaging me in polite chatter. The room was massive. I couldn't pull myself out of bed in the morning. The windows and view were breathtaking (even though all I could see was a construction area). My only complaints are the entering and exiting the parking lot.”

“We arrived very late (2 am in the morning) and were checked in so promptly. The exercise room and pool were well kept. The breakfast buffet was nice, but expensive. The room was clean but missing a wall-hanging, and a piece of the shower head. Overall, the hotel was nice and the people were friendly. It was very easy to find and had many stores we needed nearby.”

• Comfortable bed, good room in general.
• Entire room felt damp, some peeling wallpaper and cracks in fixtures.

“Some minor repairs needed to be done and the AC unit left the entire room feeling sticky and damp. However, it was a well-appointed room with a comfortable bed at a very reasonable price.”

“The customer service was great. The facilities were good, but the location makes it difficult to access. It is also dangerous to exit out of the driveway onto a busy street with vehicles traveling in excess of 50 mph.”

• I liked the friendliness of the workers in the hotel.
• It was sort of old fashioned in relationship to design; such as, furniture, carpet etc.

“I was very happy with this hotel. The hubby, kids, and mother in law were all pleases. the kids enjoyed the pool. I would definitely stay there again. It was easy to find, the lobby was welcoming and any calls for towels, pillows, etc was met promptly. I was in a cast and the staff upgraded my room to accommodate my difficulties with sleeping.”

• Location is difficult to get into. Had to loop around the street every time.

“It is a very nice hotel to stay at the one downfall is the location. It is easy to spot from the interstate but it takes an extra 1/2 mile loop to get to it thanks to the road configuration.”

• The whirlpool was good.
• Shabby, rundown facilities and decor.

“This hotel was a disappointment for a 3*. Although located off I-240 it is difficult to get to due to the fact that you must circle around it to reach the entrance. Very confusing. The rooms are badly in need of refurbishment. Lots of scuff marks on the walls. Carpet was worn and appeared to be damp in places. Shower curtain looked moldy. Heat/air unit was rusted.”

• Very nice hotel.
• No problem with hotel, only boys (basketball).

“Very nice hotel, kids will be kids. We have taken groups before. We were responsible for them and made them stay in their rooms. The hall smelled really bad from the boys, but the hotel took care of the smell. The boys were running up and down the halls until 3 am.”
