• Very nice hotel.
• No problem with hotel, only boys (basketball).

“Very nice hotel, kids will be kids. We have taken groups before. We were responsible for them and made them stay in their rooms. The hall smelled really bad from the boys, but the hotel took care of the smell. The boys were running up and down the halls until 3 am.”

• Not much.
• Room service was not available according to what menu said and they were not helpful.

“This hotel is in serious need of updating and renovation. Front desk staff very friendly, but room service was not accommodating at all. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Memphis. I said at a Marriott Courtyard that was a lot nicer. This hotel had no on demand movies or and TV's were old.”

• It was clean and the staff was very accommodating.
• We found water in one of the glasses that was supposedly clean and my 20 month old drank from it. Thank goodness it was just water!

“Overall, this hotel was very nice and conveniently located. When we arrived the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We would stay here again. Room service is only available until 9:00 pm, a little later would be nice.”

• Very convenient central ocation in Memphis and easy to get to.
• AC in rooms is noisy and old fashioned.

“The hotel is getting warnout and old fashioned, particularly the AC in the room. Ammenities, beds and room furnishings are still very good and the location could not be better.”

• The beds were so comfortable to sleep in. Everyone was very pleased by the comfort level.
• The food was expensive and not worth the price. I paid almost $15 for a breakfast buffet that I threw most of away because it was not good.

“Overall my stay was lovely. I was very pleased with my room and its comfort level. My reservations were ready and there was no hassle. I would love to stay at this hotel again, I would just skip breakfast.”

• Friendly staff, plenty of parking fast and efficient check in and out. Free internet was also a plus.
• Restaurant hours are not favorable to weekend stays. More attention to detail when cleaning small areas in restrooms and corners.

“Overall, My husband and I was very pleased with the weekend stay. It was obvious the hotel had gone through a few positive renovations, but the small details in making sure no soap scum appeared in between the tile inside the shower and the corners in the bathroom floor was dirt free would have made a nicer stay.”

• The lady in the gift shop was wonderful and friendly. She was the best thing about the hotel.
• The staff was not as helpful or as friendly as I felt they should have been.

“It was not a bad hotel, but it also was not what I had hoped for or expected from Holiday Inn. Both of the Holiday Inns we stayed at on this trip were disappointments and that is really ashamed because I have always looked at Holiday Inn as a great hotel chain to stay in on previous trips. I hope they will take their customer's criticisms seriously and bring back their good reputation.”

• Noisy AC, noise from next door, old TV and not clear channel.

“Its the worst 3 stars hotel I ever stayed on, the AC making so much noise so I had to turn it off. The TV is small and the channel is not clear. The wall is thin so I could hear the next door noise. The curtain was dirty. Its really need to be updated to 1 1/2 star, definitely not a 3 stars hotel.”

• Paint peeling in room, bad odor in general, old linens and pillows.

“This hotel is older and in great need of a re-do. It should not be rated as a 3 star hotel. The lobby has been renewed and looks great, but the rooms are not. I was quite shocked at the old linens and pillows. I was very disappointed in the overall quality of this hotel.”

“The hotel is a relatively nice Holiday Inn. While the location is close to I-240 and Poplar Avenue, it also makes it very busy and hard to get out of the parking lot. The room was ok, nothing fancy and definitely not romantic. The room service, don't waste your time. Two different orders were completely messed up and when we asked them about it. They argued with us! The actually told us that there was grilled chicken in the salad when I was clearly looking at the salad and it wasn't there. It was pretty bad.”

• Workout room was right by the pool area; wet children kept coming in and being too loud.

“Great location, friendly staff, fast check in, the only thing I need to add is that the beds were comfortable. The only bad thing is that the pool area is right by the workout room and wet children kept running in there to get on the machines.”

“For the star level of this hotel the room we got was awful-small, dark, unclean. We were lucky to be there when the hotel was empty so we were moved to better room. Plus, no free breakfast or anything when traveling with kids that is a huge benefit. I stayed at lower rated hotels and had a much better experience with free breakfast.”

• Very weak wireless internet. Passed problems off to a 1-800 contract source. No resolution.

“The hotel restaurant was understaffed at breakfast even with a small crowd. Waited 5-10 minutes and never attempted to seat us so we left and went somewhere else. Other staff were extremely friendly and helpful.”

“This hotel is located on Poplar Ave. which goes directly to downtown Memphis. Only about a 15 minute drive to Beale Street. It was clean with a (mostly) friendly staff. The room decor could be updated. However the over all facility was nice. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.”

“Ok hotel but not 3 star. The rooms were clean and it is in a good location. The beds are not up to par and it has an old air conditioning system. You have to have it on all night or off. It also wasn't clean looking.”

“The hotel was disappointing. The hotel was not working properly, my room card wouldn't work after dinner, the wall paper in the room had burn marks, paint was cracking, and the hotel was difficult to get into. Overall, this is a 2 star hotel and no higher.”

• They were quick to do their best to accommodate us.
• The room did not have a refrigerator which is something we really needed for medication.

“Staff very friendly. It was nice to ride a shuttle to the airport. We really needed a refrigerator for medication purposes, but to our surprise the room did not have one available. Over all besides no fridge, it was a very nice stay for the price.”
