“Overall hotel is good maybe for off the interstate stay, but not for business or leisure.” Jun 15, 2006 by
Kristina I. from Longview, TX
“This is the worst experience we've had a hotel, ever. The staff was unaccommodating with our reservation, and as a result, 4 of had to make do with a single king-size bed. So, people slept on the floor. The front desk would not provide another room for us, nor a rollaway. We had to ask the front desk for linen and they handed us 2 blankets. The shower was moldy with peeling wallpaper. When we got into the room there was no soap or shampoo, so I had to go to the front desk for it- on the way down in the elevator another guest was coming back up with soap and shampoo also. We just shook our heads in amazement. The front desk had multiple complaints from various guests at the same time, the hotel was so bad that other guest kept having other complaints also (For example, one couple's room was still dirty from a previous guest). The wireless Internet did not work either, which was frustrating as I had to send off documents, as I was combining business with travel. The most amazing thins was that the night manager did nothing to fix so many problems, and was not helpful in the least. Marriott should be ashamed to have their name associated with this hotel, and I hope to never stat in a Fairfield again ¿ because this was awful.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 9, 2006 by

“Great, safe location. It is being remodeled (It is almost finished). It has a nice friendly staff. There is a large selection of eating places near by - Some are in walking distance of the hotel.” Jun 4, 2006 by

“I will recommend this to someone like me.” May 30, 2006 by

“Very good location and extremely nice people!” May 16, 2006 by

“Overall the stay was great, especially for the price I paid. The area was decent with plenty of restaurants around.” May 11, 2006 by
Mark from Ypsilanti, MI
“Good location just outside of downtown Memphis. Close to the expressway and a very nice stay.” Apr 30, 2006 by
Dave from Dothan, AL
“A value. The renovation was a temporary problem.” Apr 11, 2006 by
Rod from Matthews, MO
“We were very pleased. Our initial desk clerk was irritable, and seemed nonchalant about our satisfaction level. However, we liked all others, finding even the maid staff to be warm and receptive. The amenities were as described. The location was excellent for our travels throughout the city, although we were aware that we needed to exercise some discernment concerning being out in the immediate area of the hotel after dark. We never were bothered or felt threatened in the neighborhood.” Apr 9, 2006 by
Norma from Jacksonville, AR
“I would stay again clean, good location, great beds.” Apr 5, 2006 by
Saul from Rayville, LA
“This hotel was under some renovations at the time of our stay. But there was no excuse for each room not having a phone. Even the most basic hotels have this. There was also no bedspread, which we did not like. And the roach in the tub was not a pleasant thing either. The worst thing was that it took sometimes days to resolve an issue. The man at the desk was not friendly at all, plus, the Friday evening (March 24) he was regularly no where to be found and when he did appear at the front desk he had a mouth full of food. The breakfast was great, but overall, this was not a very pleasant hotel experience.” Apr 1, 2006 by

“I was greeted upon arrival by a most friendly staff. My room was ready and very comfortable. The items for the breakfast offered by the establishment was good. However, I knew there were going to be problems when I went to the ice machine. I was staying on the first floor of this four floor facility. The ice machine on both the first and second floor was out of order. I then found that the remote on the TV didn't work. The front desk manager came to the room and tried to correct the problem, but could not. He told me the problem would be corrected first thing in the morning. It was not. It was not until the afternoon after my second night of my four night stay that the problem was resolved. It was the morning of my 3rd day before there was any hint of maid service. And then no fresh towels were placed in my room. After asking for towels twice I finally gave up and used one I had brought with me. I would love to stay at this facility again if these issues could be resolved.” Mar 28, 2006 by

“Overall, nice hotel. The iron in my room had gunk on it and it got on my shirt, which was a bummer. Also, the bike in the exercise room did not have an adjustable seat, so it was worthless. Also, running in the immediate vicinity is not great, it's business park asphalt. If you need an affordable place to sleep that's within 30 minutes of downtown, this place is OK.” Mar 24, 2006 by
John from Lakeland, FL
“This was my third stay at this location in the last 4 months. Although the hotel was full, the staff still managed to make my stay enjoyable.” Mar 17, 2006 by
Brenda from Somerville, TN
“On a scale of 1-10, with 10 as the highest score, I rate this hotel a 10. It is close to the interstate and centered around several shops, restaurants. Also, the price that I paid for two nights was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend, The Fairfield Inn -Perkins to all of my friends and co-workers who may want to escape for a weekend. Staff members were friendly, cordial and made guest feel welcome. Last but not least, a real person answered the customer's service phone in a very timely manner.” Mar 14, 2006 by
Ruby from Meridian, MS
“This hotel is o.k. for business travel. The cable channels are not very good. And the location is not real safe for walking. But if you have a car it is easy access to the freeway. And the rooms are clean and newly remodeled.” Mar 1, 2006 by
Stacy from Chicago, IL
“For a two star hotel, this was pretty good. Especially if you have a friend to split the bill with, it's a good deal. The freeway is close, but you don't really hear it, and the staff were courteous. Breakfast is good for continental, so eat up, save a little on your daily expenses. At the moment, some construction is going on, one elevator doesn't work, the other is slow. Laundry facilities are available.” Feb 28, 2006 by
Shannon from Gulfport, MS
“The hotel is close to the interstate, dining and shopping. It's very clean, the staff is great and the beds are very comfortable.” Jan 8, 2006 by
Ivan from Evansville, IN
“I was given the wrong room key and walk into an occupied room. But the staff corrected this problem right away and I would stay at this hotel again.” Jan 1, 2006 by
Greg from Madison, TN
“My stay was wonderful. Room was excellent and staff was great.” Dec 20, 2005 by
Garry from Tupelo, MS
“Overall a good value. Unfortunately this area of Memphis appears to be in Urban decline.” Dec 4, 2005 by
Wanda from Rives, TN
“Neat room convenient to the airport and easy to find. Convenient to eating places also. Smelled nice and clean.” Nov 12, 2005 by
Gerald from Benton, IL
“This was one of the best one night motel stays I have had this year and I stay in a hotel every weekend watching my daughter play volleyball. I only wish i could pick it up and take it with me to the next city.” Oct 24, 2005 by
Roberta from Millington, TN
“The Fairfield is a nice hotel. I was able to get a great amount of rest. The staff was so nice. I would like to go back one day.” Oct 21, 2005 by
Brent from Tupelo, MS
“This hotel has the basics - bed, TV and shower. The shower in my particular room did not work, though.” Oct 19, 2005 by
Dennis from Savannah, GA
“Housekeeping knocked & tried to enter the room despite the "do not disturb" sign on the door. VERY loud slamming noises regularly came from the housekeeping cart in the hall. Housekeepers also carried on prolonged, LOUD conversations DIRECTLY outside my door, again despite the "do not disturb" sign. Absolutely oblivious to all in the world except themselves. In all the hotels I've ever stayed in, I've never seen a staff even close to this ignorant of the occupants' need to sleep. An otherwise fine looking room was marred by occasional black marks on the wall. Not surprisingly, housekeeping is again to blame. If you like being awakened at regular intervals by an ignorant staff, then stay at this hotel. But if you want to rest undisturbed during your stay, AVOID at all costs. You won't find it here.” Aug 2, 2005 by
Melanie from Little Rock, AR
“The Fairfield Inn Perkins is a study in mediocrity. The staff are only as helpful as they have to be and the room only as clean as it has to be. It's inconvenient to the city center, but at least near the highway. This is the worst hotel I have stayed at in several years.” Jul 27, 2005 by
Truzella from Milwaukee, WI
“We were given a king instead of double bed, that was the problem!” Hotel Representatives:
