• It was very close to all the Downtown Memphis attractions and very clean.
• The valet service was very slow and we did not use them again.

“The hotel was very clean and classy. The hot breakfast was wonderful and fresh. The rooms were very spacious and felt luxurious. The pillows and beds were better than my own at home. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely stay there again.”

• Apples in lobby, hot breakfast, two TVs.
• Slow elevator, no door on sink area, closet was inconvenient.

“The area where you pull up to check in is quite small, valet was very slow, the room was over priced and small, we loved the pillows, the personnel were friendly and helpful, everything was clean, but there was no door on the sink area where you brush your teeth, the closet was tiny but all in all ok, the toilet area did have a door and it was clean, it was expensive for such a small room, we will stay somewhere different next time.”

• Hard to find entrance to hotel using GPS.

“This hotel suited our needs perfectly. We chose to self-park rather than valet ($10/night vs. $18 I think). It was hard to find the entrance to the hotel using GPS since the entrance is not the street address. The trolley access could not be easier. This hotel was not too far walking distance from Beale Street. (It's a few blocks though, so if you don't like to walk or can't, it might be far for you.).”

“From the hotel, you can catch a trolley out in front and go almost anywhere; you don't have to drive. Beale Street, Sun Studio, Mud Island, Gibson Guitar, Civil Rights Hall of Fame, all from the trolley. You have to drive to Graceland and Stax Records. This hotel is wonderful.”

• The breakfast was AWESOME!

“This hotel was perfect for our stay in Memphis. The location is great - easy access to the highway and within walking distance of Beale Street, but away from the crowds and noise. The room was spacious and clean and bright. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast exceeded any expectation we had - Who has a waffle bar on a complimentary breakfast? and oatmeal, and eggs and sausage? It was great!”

“I loved this hotel! The hotel's staff was very friendly. The complimentary breakfast was amazing. The view was great. The only complaint I have is that it was hard to locate because the address says 21 N Main St, and that was a trolleys only section! There was no large sign at the top of the building, which would have made it much easier to locate. But other than that, I would recommend this hotel to everyone I know!”

• Nothing about the hotel, don't trust Google/Yahoo maps for directions.

• The location was within walking distance of many restaurants and shops.
• The curtains do not close all the way. The staff was not very helpful.

“Our overall experience was positive, but there were some minor issues. The location was ideal and the room was large and comfortable. The free breakfast offered a lot of variety and was really good. However, there were no rooms ready at check-in time, and we had to wait over 30 minutes for one to be cleaned. The front desk did not seem concerned about the mistake and the cleaning staff was apparently in no hurry to make up for it. The curtains do not close entirely- there is a 3 foot wide opening in the middle of the window that can only be covered by a sheer layer. It did not feel very private, since people in other buildings could likely see in. The sunlight was incredibly bright in the morning and there was no way to block it out.”

• I loved the open space of the suite and the full length mirror.
• I lucked up on the room that had a toilet malfunction. The handle kept getting jammed. Other than that the room was great.

“This hotel has a great downtown location. It's right in front of the trolley station and Court Square Park. The staff was great! I was checking-in during a shift change. And since parking is very limited there, one of the front desk associates told me to follow her outside so I could get her good parking spot. That small bit of extra help made all the difference in my stay.”

• I had some difficulty with internet directions after I exited I-40 locating Jefferson street. Minor confusion.

• Very convenient proximity to a nice park and Beale Street and other venues.
• A little tricky to find because Main St is a trolley street only. We did not know that.

“We were assigned a very nice large, clean room with balcony on Court Park side of the hotel thanks to a very accommodating attendant at the desk. We were delighted with the view. The room was large with two queen beds, had a fridge, microwave in a kitchenette. Very nice. Had two TV's. Was on Main St. which is a trolley car street only, very convenient and inexpensive access to Beale St. Was within 5 blocks of Beale St, it was right off I-40, very convenient for visiting other venues, like Mud Park and other downtown points of interest. It was a little hard to find at first because it was located on Main St., which is a trolley street only, so we had to ask a pedestrian how to access it from the West Court St., the west side entry to the hotel reception.”

“This hotel was convenient to most everything in downtown Memphis. Or you could go out the back of the hotel and find the trolley car stop right there. The people was friendly. And I would probable recommend this hotel to someone else to stay at.”

• The breakfast was fantastic!
• The staff did not know when housekeeping would come by.

“The hotel was perfect for our stay in Memphis. The rooms were clean. My only complaint - after a full day on the town in the heat, we arrived at the hotel with our room still not made up. When we called the front desk to inquire, we were told that housekeeping gets to everything when they have time. It was almost 5 in the afternoon! The breakfast provided by the hotel was great! The people were friendly and the location was right downtown, near everything we wanted to see.”

• The location was great for going out at night.

“The room was really nice and quiet. The staff was very friendly. The location to enjoy the night life was a short cab ride or you could walk. We had a balcony and a great view of the city. And breakfast was included!”

• The hotel was close to downtown and Beale St.
• Parking was a huge problem and finding the hotel in downtown was extremely frustrating. The staff was lacking in charm and helpfulness.

“When you finally find the hotel and are lucky enough to get parking anywhere near the hotel it is a pretty nice place to stay. The front desk staff was not very friendly or helpful when we arrived, but the maintenance staff was very kind. The continental breakfast was abundant, but you have to get there early.”

• The hotel was very clean, surrounded by beautiful buildings right across the street from the Mississippi River. The beds were awesome.
• It was a bit of a maze to get to my room, but nothing I couldn't handle.

• Trolley's run right adjacent to hotel and will wake you up. Trashy people loitering outside hotel port cochere. Snacks are expensive.

• I love the location, which was right on main sty. I also loved the service.
• The parking was a little inconvenient.

• The size of the room was very spacious, and beds were comfortable.
• The parking situation was poor. The lot was full when we returned one afternoon.

“This is a very convenient hotel to downtown Memphis, and a perfect place to stay for business travelers or families. The price is very reasonable, and it included a pretty good continental breakfast. I was impressed with the size of the rooms, and the cleanliness. The only downside was the parking, you have to park next door at another hotel, and the lot was full on a couple occasions. The parking attendant was less than helpful. Overall, it was a very good experience. I would definitely stay here again.”

• Rude, unhelpful staff, mold in bathroom, failed to clean room.

“Assigned handicapped room. Upon request to move to a standard room, receptionist curtly stated request not possible and that all rooms are the same. Not true - standard rooms have smaller bathrooms and more living space. Inquired about the availability of local tours - receptionist dismissively advised us after finishing a personal telephone call that they did not have any tour literature and that we should use the yellow pages and call local tour operators. Overworked cleaning staff failed to clean our room on the second day. They did make clean towels available. Toilet clogged twice. Shower had mold between the tiles. Very poorly run facility - would recommend business and vacation travelers to choose another hotel.”

• I thought it was much closer to beadle street.

“This hotel is moderate in my opinion; I was very disappointed with the location. Their website indicated they were right off beadle street, in actuality they are about 6 blocks away. The trolley does run right in front of the hotel, but no one told us the trolley does not run on Sunday nights, and therefore we were followed all the way back to our hotel by homeless man begging for money. There is not enough parking, and our room was not ready two separate times when we tried to check in, when we did check in, there were several hairs in the shower.”

• I loved the courtyard and proximity to the trolley cars.
• Lack of available parking. Had to use garage nearly 2 blocks away.

“This was a very nice hotel, rooms had everything you could ask for. The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I really liked the courtyard view. With the trolley cars available, we were really close to everything we wanted to see.”

• Large room, large continental breakfast, good location, easy parking in the middle of downtown.
• Parking is not "secure" but I had no problems.

“Springhill suites is definitely an above 2 star experience. Checkout was easy. The rooms are large, cheerful, and clean. The continental breakfast is definitely deluxe. It is in a great location in Memphis a few short blocks from Beale Street and Main Street itself is for trolley and pedestrian traffic only, with a lot happening on main street and the streets surrounding it. I have stayed in Memphis several times and this hotel is a really good deal.”

• Location was great, near every major attraction in downtown Memphis.
• Parking was unacceptable, was told to park in comfort's inn garage down the street.

“I would stay here again if traveling to downtown Memphis. I had no problems with my stay with the exception of the parking hassles.”

• The convenience of the hotel was exceptional given its location on main st. Where you could catch the trolley right outside the front door.
• The bathroom setup in my room was a little odd.

• The neighborhood had a lot of panhandlers outside at night.

• At least they eventually fixed their mistakes.
• First room was handicapped, second room toilet overflowed, staff was rude and unhelpful, paid for parking even though parking was not guaranteed

“This hotel was terrible. Charged $5 a day for parking, hotel over sells spaces so you are not guaranteed a space. Our first room was a handicapped room, second room toilet overflowed, and third was crowded and cramped. Staff was rude and not interested in helping you. Also tried to charge me twice for the room. Also rooms were overpriced for the quality. ”
