“Although the hotel is clean with a very friendly staff, the room furniture and wall lighting need an upgrade.” Nov 23, 2009 by
Steve from Bell,CA
“The rooms appear to have been redone recently. The staff was friendly and courteous. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and colleagues.” Nov 23, 2009 by
Tiffany from Tulsa,OK
“I cannot stress enough how PERFECT the location of this hotel is. It's right behind street. Louis Cathedral and right on Bourbon street. With it's close proximity to Bourbon street, our room still remained quiet. We were able to walk to all of the shops, the river and the infamous cafe Du Monde (the hot chocolate was amazing!). One of the downsides was the price of valet parking ($32), although this did provide us with a sense of security by not having to park our car on the street. Also, the room was TINY and the bed was one of the hardest I've ever slept on (I didn't get much sleep.)” Nov 18, 2009 by
Monica from Houston,TX “The hotel staff was extremely cooperative and friendly. Our shower and cold water did not work the first day and they were quick to respond to our concerns. When it was not able to be fixed, the staff was sure to accommodate our needs and even upgraded us to a suite for all the trouble. They were great and so was the room!” Oct 14, 2009 by
Dinesh from Sugar Land,TX
“Carpet needs a work on it.” Aug 17, 2009 by
Scott from Urbana,IL
“Booked the balcony room knowing ahead of time it would be loud. It was, until 3 or 4 am. It's a good room for those wanting to experience the magic of the French quarter. Was told I'd be charged $30 for parking. Was charged $32 for having a minivan. Had the extra charge removed from my bill, but my credit card statement shows is was re-charged later. Watch out for these crooks!” Jun 2, 2009 by
Debbie from Bowling Green, KY
“This is a beautiful hotel in an ideal location for visitors to the French Quarter. Situated in the block between Bourbon street and St. Louis Cathedral, you are a 5 minute walk or less from Jackson Square, the cathedral, Cafe DuMonde, the river, Pat O'Brians and more. A 10-15 minute walk up Bourbon Street to Canal and you can catch the $1.25 streetcar to the Garden District or Uptown. The lobby and pool areas are beautiful and our room was clean, nicely furnished, and comfortable. Concierge and bell staff was helpful and prompt. The price on our king room for the last weekend in May was excellent compared to the rates for many other large cities. The location couldn't be better. We highly recommend and would stay again. The fold out map given with the key card was very helpful.” May 24, 2009 by
Wanda from Nacogdoches,TX “This hotel was in a great location, the service was good, the hotel was beautiful and very clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. It was a great place to stay. I would recommend it to any one traveling to new Orleans, loved it.” Mar 26, 2009 by
Tommy from Winnsboro,SC
“Great location, great staff.” Dec 6, 2008 by
Tangi from Carencro,LA
“Hotel in the heart of the French Quarters. Be prepared to walk every where after hours. Be prepared to pay $30 per night for parking.” Aug 14, 2008 by
Denise from Washington, DC
“Great location, comfortable and as we expected.” Jul 12, 2008 by
Shirley from Austin, TX
“Very nice hotel in an excellent location.” Jul 3, 2008 by
Norwood from Anniston, AL
“Very happy with the service, price, and location.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Leslie from Crestview, FL
“This was a great location (the middle of the French Quarter). The room was very small and we could hear the people in the hallway very loudly from inside our room. The staff was nice and the room was clean. Valet was a little expensive for the area ($30 a day) but they were prompt in getting our car for us. The hotel restaurant was good and the bar was ok also. We would stay here again.” Jun 5, 2008 by
Anne from Greenville, AL
“I loved this hotel. It was the perfect location to Boubon Street and very close to Jackson Square and the French Market. Most interesting were the stories of a ghost that lives in the lobby. (We went on a ghost tour which I suggest to do) The restaurant was just ok but then there are so many places close by to eat. I loved the valet clerk who looked like Matt Damon.” May 22, 2008 by
Neal from Marietta, GA
“Price was right ultimately-would (conditionally) stay there again-maintenance needed on commode tank mechanism (very loud squeal when flushing)-location (if staying in the Quarter) is very good-reports of extremely loud boisterous young groups evening before (luckily we stayed there Sunday night only).” Apr 15, 2008 by
Mitch from New Iberia, LA
“The hotel is nice.” Jan 9, 2008 by
Jane from Fort Walton Beach, FL
“Everything about the hotel was great. Perfect location to many attractions/restaurants. Did not have to use our car while we were there for the weekend. Very friendly staff and beautiful hotel.” Jan 3, 2008 by
Alison from Atlanta, GA
“Great overall experience, when we first got there the room was not prepared properly but the staff responded immediately and made things right. I would stay again without a second thought!” Jan 1, 2008 by
Xiaofang D. from Kingsport, TN
“The location was best. The valet parking was expensive, when you ask them about a self parking (that is just 2 block away) they didn't want to tell you; they only provided one full/queen bed room.” Jan 1, 2008 by
Fiona from Columbia, CT
“I liked the hotel - great location, great staff, pretty clean. Our bathroom was a little old fashioned and could have been updated - but overall - hotel was nice. However! - We got hit with a $30.00 a night parking fee (we stayed two nights) - which we thought was outrageous - especially since we had not been warned or told about it.” Dec 31, 2007 by
John from Lake Charles, LA
“A great place. We had a problem with stained sheets but new ones were sent up as soon as we informed them of the problem. The location is ideal and cannot be beat. This hotel is an historic building and this must be taken into consideration, it has a lot of charm but don't expect a sleek high-rise.” Dec 31, 2007 by
Jodi from Ingram, TX
“Location in French Quarter was good. The tub had been re-glazed but was peeling. The bedspread was awful and the carpet old and ugly. The staff did nothing but act like we were a bother.” Dec 31, 2007 by
Jill from Reno, NV
“From the moment my husband and I arrived at the Bourbon Orleans we were treating wonderfully. The staff was kind, courteous and very professional. There was an exposed bricked on the wall in our bathroom that tore a hole in my shirt and scratched my shoulder. After reporting it to the security manager, she went above and beyond to replace my one-of-a-kind shirt and repair the bracket immediately. Our room was clean, spacious and had a beautiful view of the hotel's Courtyard. I'd highly recommend this hotel to others and look forward to staying with the Bourbon Orleans in the future!” Dec 26, 2007 by
Errick A. from Baton Rouge, LA
“Loved everything about this hotel. Will defiantly use again. We only stayed one night but it was worth the money spent. Only dislike was the service elevator to our floor and the regular hotel elevator. They were both to far apart and to we have to use the service elevator to get to our room when we werent suppose to. Lucky us the hotel staff looked the other way to help us but I feel may be opening those up to everyone is possible.” Dec 18, 2007 by
Richard from Houma, LA
“Clean and pleasant atmosphere with inattentive staff.” Dec 18, 2007 by
Stanle from Santa Clarita, CA
“Great location for partying. Noisy at night. The staff is there entirely for the paycheck. Not really there to service you.” Dec 18, 2007 by
Jim from Newport, RI
“This would be a wonderful hotel if you get a nice room. We liked everything about it except the ridiculous size of the room and the lack of Natural light. The room was a lock off for a suite, so it did not even have a chair to sit in. Window faced a concrete wall six feet away, so very little light came in. We had to use the lights to see even in the middle of the day. Not my idea of a luxury hotel.” Dec 13, 2007 by
Lisa from Jacksonville, FL
“The hotel amenities were very nice, the location was great and our view was lovely. However, our room was very small and valet parking was $30/night. Also, the walk from the elevator to the room was extremely far.” Dec 8, 2007 by
Lb from Lake Arthur, LA
“Early morning departure took over 1 hour to get car from valet. They pushed several guests in front of us that were yelling for their cars. I guess you need to yell for good valet service?” Dec 6, 2007 by
Doug from Spring, TX
“Nice lobby and convenient to Bourbon street. Be prepared for $30 valet service because there is not a parking lot for the hotel. Ask for a room with a view. Our view was of the alley for the dumpsters.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Dec 4, 2007 by

“If the hotel beefed up the staff a bit and did detailing on the interiors - it could easily be a 3-1/2 to 4 star hotel. But the post Katrina problems lead to staffing problems, thus not as good as possible.” Dec 3, 2007 by
Aegeda from Houston, TX
“The hotel was quite nice but I feel that they should make sure that the televisions are functioning properly in all the rooms. I also understand that it is located in the French Quarter but the parking arrangements were totally unacceptable. I took me almost an hour just to park my own car 11 blocks away at $25.00/day.” Nov 28, 2007 by
Laura from Baytown, TX
“I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Everyone---from the bellmen, valet, front desk, maids, bartenders, waiters, managers--was absolutely wonderful. This hotel is safe, clean and centrally located to everything the French Quarter has to offer.” Nov 28, 2007 by
Jamie from Marrero, LA
“The location was great! The pool at night was wonderful. It was not the quality I expected. The rooms were similar to a Holiday Inn if not lesser quality. The valet parking was a joke. We had to park our car a few miles away in a garage owned by the hotel, pay $25/day and park ourselves in the most cramped garage I've ever seen. Then a shuttle picks us up and took us to and from the car when we wanted to go somewhere.” Nov 28, 2007 by
Jeffery from Baker, LA
“The stay was nice and the people also will be back.” Nov 24, 2007 by
Richard from Covington, LA
“Everything was fine, except the parking situation. Apparently the New Orleans police don't enforce the loading zone curb space in front of the hotel. We had to stop in the narrow street to upload our bags. Then our car had to be parked by the valet eleven blocks away.” Nov 19, 2007 by
Elizabeth from Roxboro, NC
“This hotel is nice, however they need to warn people who do not know that area, that the partying goes on even when it is not madrigals! After everyone outside had partied until they puked, the street cleaners come out at 4 am. If you want to sleep, this is not the place to do it! They also need to let people know it will cost $30.00 to park your car over night!” Oct 13, 2007 by
Angela from Houston, TX
“Nice location just 1/2 block off bourbon street but not too noisy so I felt I could easily visit bourbon street but get back to my room quickly and safely. A charming smaller hotel with helpful staff. The room was clean and decently furbished. The lobby was nice and the valet service eager to be of service.” Oct 12, 2007 by
Gerald from Houston, TX
“Attentive staff always at post at front door and front desk. This hotel is classic News Orleans courtyard style located half a block from bourbon street and three blocks from Jackson Square. Close to all the action but far enough for quiet sleep. Full sized pool makes relaxation possible in or out of un-cramped guest room.” Oct 10, 2007 by
Nika from Maple Shade, NJ
“The Wyndham bourbon has a convenient location in the French quarters but is located on a side street thus less prone to noisiness of bourbon street. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The building was clean and appeared well-managed.” Sep 26, 2007 by
Rick from Foley, AL
“The hotel was clean and in a very good location of the French Quarter. The rooms were clean and decorated well. The hotel employees were very friendly and helpful. The one downside is that we were put in a room that faced the roof.” Sep 2, 2007 by
Marcia from Washington, MI
“Pool could have been cleaned. Nobody was using it because of this. It didn't bother us so much because we didn't go there to swim. Why is the lighting so bad at every hotel I go to? Excellent location, friendly staff. I like a pool that has a deep end (8 feet). pool was in a beautiful setting, with a nice view of the pool from our room. I would stay there again.” Aug 24, 2007 by
Chris from Baton Rouge, LA
“Great location, history, lobby, and rooms. Very clean and bathrooms were nice. Would definitely stay here again.” Aug 23, 2007 by
Mrs.Dmw from Brandon, MS
“We were pleased overall with our stay, and have already planned on going back. Though the rooms are small the location and cleanliness and friendliness from the staff make up for it.” Aug 22, 2007 by
Penny from San Antonio, TX
“The hotel is in a great location right of Bourbon St. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. On the downside we had to false fire alarms and the room was small.” Aug 22, 2007 by
Tim from Houston, TX
“Had called that morning and been told we would have rooms next to each other (traveling with in-laws). Originally given rooms together but one bathroom not working properly (bathtub faucet was broken and pouring out water). When addressed with hotel staff, management came to room and asked "how did you break it?" this was at 9:00 pm. When requested to move to another room. Hotel originally refused to give us rooms on the same floor. After much discussion, found out there were rooms together but they did not want to give them to us because they were balcony rooms.” Aug 21, 2007 by
Daniel from San Antonio, TX
“Hotel was nice. I was very disappointed especially after the number of times I have used the services in the past year.” Aug 15, 2007 by
Dan from Downers Grove, IL
“When checking in, the front desk was understaffed, and the clerk who was there did not have her act together. Then someone came from upstairs and complained that their key did not work and explained that several other guests were up in the hallways and their keys didn't work. The manager gave the guest some grief and was not sympathetic to his plight. Then the other guests came down to complain about their keys -- something was not right. For me, I had called the day before to request a nonsmoking room, but upon checking in I was told that all nonsmoking rooms were taken and that I could only have smoking. Thankfully, the room did not smell bad and finally after about 15 minutes I was able to walk away from the front desk with my room key. I would not recommend this property to anyone until they get their front desk personnel in order and until they switch more rooms to nonsmoking.” Aug 2, 2007 by
Nicole from Gloucester, MA
“Nice hotel, perfect location in the middle of the French quarter in New Orleans. Has a nice pool in the middle of the patio. Nice lobby and friendly staff everywhere. Rooms are ok, not too big, but sufficient, bathroom very proper!”
