• Location.
• The room was small and smelled for musty and was shocked that there was not any self parking at the hotel. So we had to pay an extra $30 for valet service.

“Nice lobby and convenient to Bourbon street. Be prepared for $30 valet service because there is not a parking lot for the hotel. Ask for a room with a view. Our view was of the alley for the dumpsters.”

• Got the smallest room at the end of the hallway.

“If the hotel beefed up the staff a bit and did detailing on the interiors - it could easily be a 3-1/2 to 4 star hotel. But the post Katrina problems lead to staffing problems, thus not as good as possible.”

• The parking situation was ridiculous and the TV. In the room was not working properly.

“The hotel was quite nice but I feel that they should make sure that the televisions are functioning properly in all the rooms. I also understand that it is located in the French Quarter but the parking arrangements were totally unacceptable. I took me almost an hour just to park my own car 11 blocks away at $25.00/day.”

“I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Everyone---from the bellmen, valet, front desk, maids, bartenders, waiters, managers--was absolutely wonderful. This hotel is safe, clean and centrally located to everything the French Quarter has to offer.”

• It was not the quality I expected. The rooms were similar to a Holiday Inn if not lesser quality.

“The location was great! The pool at night was wonderful. It was not the quality I expected. The rooms were similar to a Holiday Inn if not lesser quality. The valet parking was a joke. We had to park our car a few miles away in a garage owned by the hotel, pay $25/day and park ourselves in the most cramped garage I've ever seen. Then a shuttle picks us up and took us to and from the car when we wanted to go somewhere.”

• Elegance of the lobby and ballroom.

“Everything was fine, except the parking situation. Apparently the New Orleans police don't enforce the loading zone curb space in front of the hotel. We had to stop in the narrow street to upload our bags. Then our car had to be parked by the valet eleven blocks away.”

• The hotel was nice. Location was not, unless you are there to party all night.
• The noise! Went to visit my father in the hospital and got no use out of hotel.

“This hotel is nice, however they need to warn people who do not know that area, that the partying goes on even when it is not madrigals! After everyone outside had partied until they puked, the street cleaners come out at 4 am. If you want to sleep, this is not the place to do it! They also need to let people know it will cost $30.00 to park your car over night!”

• They charge $30/night for parking, only 1 elevator.

“Nice location just 1/2 block off bourbon street but not too noisy so I felt I could easily visit bourbon street but get back to my room quickly and safely. A charming smaller hotel with helpful staff. The room was clean and decently furbished. The lobby was nice and the valet service eager to be of service.”

• All rooms either overlook courtyard or front quarter. Full size pool in courtyard. Great location.
• Limited hours for restaurant and bar.

“Attentive staff always at post at front door and front desk. This hotel is classic News Orleans courtyard style located half a block from bourbon street and three blocks from Jackson Square. Close to all the action but far enough for quiet sleep. Full sized pool makes relaxation possible in or out of un-cramped guest room.”

“The Wyndham bourbon has a convenient location in the French quarters but is located on a side street thus less prone to noisiness of bourbon street. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The building was clean and appeared well-managed.”

• The hotel was close to everything in the French Quarter and was in a safe area.
• On Sunday, valet parking was not available. You had to get into a shuttle to get to the parking garage.

“The hotel was clean and in a very good location of the French Quarter. The rooms were clean and decorated well. The hotel employees were very friendly and helpful. The one downside is that we were put in a room that faced the roof.”

• Quiet, free newspaper, very clean, received more pillows when requested.
• Could have had some more free channels.

“Pool could have been cleaned. Nobody was using it because of this. It didn't bother us so much because we didn't go there to swim. Why is the lighting so bad at every hotel I go to? Excellent location, friendly staff. I like a pool that has a deep end (8 feet). pool was in a beautiful setting, with a nice view of the pool from our room. I would stay there again.”

• Standard room only has 1 queen bed. 2 Beds were not given as option.

• Hotel room was not ready at 9pm. Blamed for problems at check in.

“Had called that morning and been told we would have rooms next to each other (traveling with in-laws). Originally given rooms together but one bathroom not working properly (bathtub faucet was broken and pouring out water). When addressed with hotel staff, management came to room and asked "how did you break it?" this was at 9:00 pm. When requested to move to another room. Hotel originally refused to give us rooms on the same floor. After much discussion, found out there were rooms together but they did not want to give them to us because they were balcony rooms.”

• Took forever to check in, got stuck with smoking room.

“When checking in, the front desk was understaffed, and the clerk who was there did not have her act together. Then someone came from upstairs and complained that their key did not work and explained that several other guests were up in the hallways and their keys didn't work. The manager gave the guest some grief and was not sympathetic to his plight. Then the other guests came down to complain about their keys -- something was not right. For me, I had called the day before to request a nonsmoking room, but upon checking in I was told that all nonsmoking rooms were taken and that I could only have smoking. Thankfully, the room did not smell bad and finally after about 15 minutes I was able to walk away from the front desk with my room key. I would not recommend this property to anyone until they get their front desk personnel in order and until they switch more rooms to nonsmoking.”

• Upon arrival, our room was upgraded to a junior suite just because it was available.
• Nothing.

“The lobby was absolutely beautiful, the restaurant was great and the cuisine was typical New Orleans style. The room was clean, comfortable, very roomy and upscale. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The location was excellent.”

• Room service breakfast was overcooked and cold.

“Overall, the Bourbon Orleans was a great hotel to crash at after spending a night out in the French Quarter. I would not recommend it for families with small children because of the night life outside. With the exception of a horrible room service breakfast (which was refunded 100%). The stay was great for my sister and me to enjoy a night on Bourbon for her birthday. The walking distance to clubs and restaurants was perfect and the staff was great. I would definitely stay their when we go out again!”

“The hotel is a 3 star hovering around the status of a 3.5 star. If a little more attention were paid to detailing, a good paint job, and recarpeting - this property would go up a little in rating.”

• The location was excellent for the price paid.
• The walls were too thin.

“This hotel is pretty and clean. The staff is friendly and it is in a good location. The walls are relatively thin though, so I was able to hear my neighbor next door and the staff in the hallway. I don't think anyone really expects to sleep well in New Orleans though.”

• Loved the personal greeting and attentiveness of the staff, rooms were beautiful.
• Parking was a little more of a chore, and rather pricey.

“The bourbon Orleans, located in the heart of the French quarter, behind the sty Louis cathedral on bourbon street puts you in the lap of mid-priced luxury, within easy walking distance to the action on bourbon, jacks square, the French market and several more nearby local hoots spots like port o call, on esplanade snug harbor & more clubs on Frenchman. Lots of locals place to eat and grab coffee; of course cafe is just a brisk walk past the cathedral through jacks square.”

• Went back next day but they couldn't find my phone recharge.

“Room was comfortable, clean and quiet. Staff helpful except when I left behind my phone recharge plugged into the wall and they couldn't retrieve it for me the next day after checkout when I returned. So I didn't have cell phone working for rest of the trip. Location great in heart of French quarter.”

• The location was nice, as well as the historic atmosphere.
• Customer service was horrendous.

“I have 2 complaints, and because of these complaints, I will not choose the "French quarter" district of new Orleans. They are, first, I had internet problems the whole night, that neither the help desk nor the front desk would accommodate. Secondly, upon check out in the morning, I wrote a list of items I took out of the mini bar, and asked her to print my bill reflecting those items; she said she could not until they checked the room. I told her that if I was wrong, that was fine, but I needed a printed receipt for my expenses. She could not accommodate.”

• Parking attendant was very slow. It took 30 minutes to get our car and price very high.
