• The bathroom is really showing its age: cracked marble, tub tile not entirely clean.

• The beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean, I loved it and will stay there again my next trip to New Orleans.
• I was not able to get a roll away bed although I had double beds and that was very inconvenient for my family for my.

• The view was awesome.
• Found a Doritos chip behind the curtain.

“Great access to the French Quarter, the aquarium, and the Riverwalk. You can walk out the front entrance and walk or jog on the sidewalk they call the moon walk which is right on the river. You can grab a trolley in two minutes. The room was large with a nice bathroom.”

• The lobby has one of the most comfortable, scenic, soothing atmospheres of any I have stayed at.
• Everything was go great that this is minor, but an obvious oversight to us. Our room did not have towel racks, which we missed.

“My husband and I really hit the jackpot with this experience. The Westin in our opinion is conveniently located. It was right across from the Casino, the aquarium and Riverwalk were right behind it. It is located in an interesting part of the quarter with some of the most interesting jazz/blues places on nearby Decatur. It is in the Quarter, yet blissfully away from the hustle and bustle of it. The 11th floor lobby is extremely inviting with its comfortable coaches and ottomans and soothing music. Guests felt right at home putting their feet up and sipping their favorite beverage while watching through floor to ceiling windows, ferry boats and dinner cruises sail by on the Mississippi. We got the riverfront view we requested. The room was really large and comfortable. The bed was so comfortable it made sleep blissful. Oh yes, the hotel is located in Canal Place Mall, where there are some great shops such as Saks, so there is something to do even when it is raining and one does not want to go outside. I noticed that some folk even walked the circular mall - which is lovely - for exercise! This was one of my best stays ever in New Orleans. If I can work it out, the Westin is definitely where I want to stay the next time.”

• The condition and cleanliness was what you would expect at a 2 star.

“The location, outward appearance and front staff were great. The room had a cracked sink, the tub was pealing from being painted, and the closet door would not operate correctly. I had to call housekeeping's attention to the bathroom floor and the toilet to be cleaned.”

• Convenient to the French quarter festival which is why I was there.
• Needed to take 2 elevators to get to my room. no parking that was affiliated with hotel.

“Rooms were well appointed, but some of the towels and bath robes were not stocked. Overall the stay was very pleasant. Rooms were comfortable and had a great view of the city.”

• Room service got my order wrong.

“It was a last minute trip for my son and I. I was extremely pleased when I found out my accommodations were at the Westin, having stayed there before. Upon arrival, my son was presented with a nature themed backpack that contained a safari hat and lots of projects. The location was prefect, close to everything but removed from the noise associated with the French quarter (and they validate parking). Great weekend get away.”

• Pool closed, but fortunately too cold to swim so child not disappointed.

• Walking into the hotel from the Saturday night French Quarter was like going into a different, very peaceful world.
• It was combined with a mall and parking tower and you had to take several different elevators to get to your room.

“We enjoyed it very much. It was a bit confusing trying to figure out where to go to get to the lobby or to your room, it was worth it. Walking into the place was like walking into a different world, completely quiet and friendly, compared to the loud and wild French Quarter on a Saturday Night. Very friendly staff!”

• The views of the Mississippi, the French Quarter were excellent from our room and the lobby.
• Service in the restaurant was slow and not very professional. I told the desk. I attribute it to a very slow night.

“Excellent location, views, and decor. Staff very helpful. Rooms were upscale having been totally redecorated since Hurricane Katrina. We will return.”

• Hallways were dirty; window was very dirty, parking charges each time you exit.

“The hotel has a great location, walking distance from the French quarter, casino, and restaurants. Aquarium and Imax were just down the block. Posh stores in the attached shopping center. Room furnishings were way under they style and elegance you would expect from this price range hotel, my company frequently has events here in new Orleans, and we will never come here again. We recommend Harrahs hotel for this price range and location, we found it to be simply, awesome! Brace yourself if you plan to drive in and park at the hotel. The hotel does not own it's own parking (WTF.), the parking garage charges you each time you exit the garage, no discounts from the hotel or any other kind of validation, in fact the hotel offered no sympathy or assistance with the arrangement at all. This a hotel you definitely want to keep your shoes on in the hall for those late niter ice runs, the hall carpets were absolutely "funky". New Orleans tourist district is absolutely fantastic; you should come and see it, but try another hotel. We live nearby and frequently stay overnight in the city, but never here again.”

“The room was extremely comfortable. The staff went above and beyond the call of duty. The first night, I had some problems sleeping and went in search of a vending machine that carried milk. I ended up at the front desk, and the desk clerk went to the kitchen to get some milk for me. He even asked if I wanted whole, low fat or skim. A couple of nights later, I had a blister on my foot and, of course, no band aid. Again, the clerk at the front desk came to my rescue. I ordered room service twice, and was completely satisfied. And, even though, I was a female staying alone in new Orleans, I was not at all nervous because of the security in the hotel. Room card keys were necessary to operate the elevator, and the hallways were very brightly lit.”

• View of Mississippi river from lobby was breathtaking.
• Parking was inconvenient, as in all nova French quarter.

“For the upscale traveler this hotel could not be better. It offers superb atmosphere with breathtaking views of nova and the Mississippi river. The green room bar is inviting and comfortable; a great place to unwind after a day touring new Orleans. The roof-top pool with bar service is truly fantastic and can tempt couples to its romantic views of after-dark new Orleans. The hotel experience was comfortably rewarding for travelers with upscale taste.”

“We went the weekend of the French quarter festival. The hotel was right next to the fairgrounds and was super convenient. Also, the staff was extremely nice and the place was very clean. I would recommend to others. Fiji, all of the flowers, plants and greenery in the hotel are real. No silks. Thought you might like to know that!”

“Overall experience was good, staff was helpful and friendly. The room carpet could have been cleaner as well as the bathroom. I'm a big coffee lover and the in-room coffee pot was very dirty and the brand they had I have never seen before so I didn't try any. I would recommend this hotel to others.”

• The room did not feel totally clean.

“The hotel is beautiful, but it seems like it has lost some of its glory. I had trouble with who ever I talked to on the phone on the day before my arrival. I asked them to put my sister's name as someone who could check in because it turned out her flight got in earlier than ours. The agent assured me that she had her name on the reservation, but the next day, the front desk clerk did not have her name anywhere on our reservation. Overall, it was a good experience considering the problems in New Orleans with finding and keeping staff.”

• Adjacent to shops. Nice view from lobby.
• Non-smoking room smelled of smoke. Bathroom needs updating. Shower head sprayed water over entire bathroom.

“Overall the hotel was average. I would not stay again. We requested a non-smoking room, however it smelled like stale cigarette smoke. It had definitely been a smoking room at some point. The room was clean, but the bathroom was run-down. There were no instructions on how to reach the front desk.”
