  • Parking; elevator system is a little different.

“Stayed one night for leisure. Awesome location between the casino and bourbon street. Near everything. Lobby is nice, but parking is expensive (with mandatory valet). Ended up with an awesome view of the south bay area of new Orleans on the 37th floor.”

  • The bar service was very slow. Parking is $30 a day!

  • The hotel has great facilities- pool, workout room, meeting spaces, etc.
  • It was under construction and parking is ridiculously expensive.

“A great hotel overall - a typical Marriott. You don't get much freebees- no free internet, parking is a bit high, but the rooms are kept up well and are comfortable. The hotel was under construction around the exterior made it a bit difficult to get around but its right on Canal a few blocks from Bourbon and next to lots of Canal/Decatur/St. Peter attractions, places to eat. I would stay here again, especially for the convenient elevators that prevent you stopping at every floor- every hotel needs them!”

  • The remodeling is horrendous and took away from the luxury of the stay.

“My goodness, how saddened we were at the present condition of the Marriott on Canal in New Orleans. We have stayed there for 25 years. The new remodeling venture is just awful! How sad to see so many dollars spent on such a timely and uninviting remodeling task. We're hoping we can avoid this hotel in the future.”

  • Room is too small and no fridge no coffee machine, bathroom is extremely small.

“This is a very convenient hotel, close to French Quarter and most other attractions. But the room is small and the bathroom is very small too. There is no fridge or coffee machine in the room. Besides, parking is charged $33 per day.”

“We wanted a weekend get away for my son's 3rd birthday and Father's Day. We were awakened several times during the night by loud groups in the hall. Then security banging on doors because of guest complaints. When I mentioned the noise at check out the next morning, the clerk told me, It won't me, I didn't do it. Obvious it was beyond her control, but her empathy was very disappointing. I can say with confidence, we will never stay there again.”

  • I liked the concierge service.
  • The rooms were too small. The internet was too expensive.

“Can't go wrong with the Marriot. Safe if you are having conferences. If you are fine with paying far more than average for internet service / room service / amenities. The concierge service was superlative, but the rooms were small and uncomfortable. Also, the hotel is on the very edge of the French quarter, requiring a long walk to get anywhere. One more note. Hotel guests are required to pay $31 for parking.”

  • I liked the location of the hotel to the French Quarter.
  • Small Room, No Fridge/Mini Bar, had to pay for internet.

“I have also had free wireless internet in every hotel I have stayed at for at least a year, this hotel wanted to charge $14.95 per day, for a plug in internet connection that you had to sit at a small desk with an uncomfortable chair to use! Even Subways and McDonalds offer free WiFi just to get you to buy a cheap sandwich,”

  • It was very convenient to the French Quarters and surrounding sites.
  • It took almost 30 minutes to get into the parking loading/unloading deck.

“We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and it took almost 30 minutes to finally get into the loading area for luggage & check-in due to the line of cars. It is less busy during the week. Parking is very high ($30/night) and you have to wait about 15-20 for them to retrieve your car. I would recommend unloading your luggage and parking in a lot about a block or two away which costs anywhere from $6 to $10 overnight.”

  • The friendly service and the location as well as the assistance security gave my wife to help her find a lost item.
  • The elevator was a little confusing to some people.

  • Non-Marriott concierge people, rip you off for a fee.

  • The location was good, couple blocks from Bourbon St. The interior is pretty impressive. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Cool elevators.
  • In our room, picture on the wall was missing.

“The Marriott is located on Canal Street in New Orleans. It is on the French Quarter side so even though it is a short walk from the heart of the quarter, you do not have to cross Canal Street to get to your hotel. The parking is entirely covered from the time you get out the car and then the car itself when parked. Beautiful lobby with more than adequate staff on hand. Clean nicely decorated room. No complaints! We arrived early and requested an early check-in and were checked in right away.”

  • The lobby smelled like bacon all of the time. Valet parking was slow. Room was small.

“Upon arriving, we were not offered any options on parking. We felt pushed into using the valet parking and it might have been the best choice but we knew of no other options. They were forgetful and slow about getting the car to us when it was requested. The staff was helpful on recommending places and obtaining directions for us. The room was a little smaller than expected but it was clean. Overall it was a nice trip and the accommodations were nice.”

“All I can say is new Orleans is back in business! The hospitality at this hotel was exceptional. We had an ample size room on the 39th floor facing the river and canal street. The views were breathtaking. We stayed here the night before our cruise and in the am we could see the ships in port. They allowed us to do a late checkout which allowed time to walk through the French quarter. Parking is valet only which is average for new Orleans. I can't say enough good things about this hotel and will definitely return.”

  • The manager did not argue with us about wanting to leave without charging us. .
  • The accommodations were too small for 2 people.

“The rating scale does not address the room. We were charged /night for a room that was so small that we could just make it around the bed. The bathroom was too small to turn around in and we are not overweight. We checked out within 3 hours and went across the street to the Sheraton and got a much larger room with an ample sized bathroom, free breakfast and free h'orderves The staff at Marriott was very good about letting us leave without charging us. Other people at our Convention had their reservations which were made months ago cancelled. So, although the staff and location is great, there are other hotels right nearby Bourbon street and the French quarter that have better amenities.”
