“Very nice hotel, good location right on Canal. Beds and rooms very nice. Coffe maker but only styro cups, real ones would have been nice too.Check in staff was really slow.. The rest of the staff and the overall experience at the hotel was great. The hotel is a very nice, straight forward business hotel. Not much character or charm but a very nice, comfortable hotel.”

• Just moments from the French Quarter! Oh so comfortable beds!
• Conceirge was a bit snotty. Bathroom a bit on the small side.

“Given the price we paid for the room, the JW Marriott was perfect. Location wise, we were moments from the French Quarter. The staff was friendly and helpful - especially the bellboys. The rooms were clean and the beds were oh so comfortable. The shower pressure was divine. However, in terms of size, the bathroom was on the small side. The breakfast buffett was $14.95 but it was well worth the cost. Little extras like free bottled water and Hershey bars were appreciated.”

“We enjoyed our stay at the JW Marriott. Very courteous and helpful staff, easy check-in and check-out. Great room -- quiet, clean (everything relatively new) and comfortable. Good price and incidentals (valet parking, etc.) were very reasonable for hotels of that caliber and in that area. Convenient to French Quarter, Riverwalk, etc. Would stay there again.”

• Difficult to find the entrance for cars

• Convenient, comfortable, reliable, fair
• They charge $10 for internet access. Tried to overcharge for that.

“This is a very good, although not luxurious hotel.
Meets the needs of a business or pleasure traveler. It greatest selling point is that it is in New Orleans. This hotel was the old" Meridian.........and remains much the same. I did not use the business or spa facilities. The restaurants basically were deserted."”

“The JW Marriot Hotel is in an excellent location with a 10 minute walk to the convention center, the French Quarter right across the street, and Bourbon Street just 2 blocks away! Just about everywhere you want to go, you can walk there including Jackson Square. The hotel staff was wonderful and they even have turn-down service each evening. My stay was absolutely delightful.”

• Neighboring doors sounded like slams, even down the hall.

“Great location: Canal Street Red Line Trolley is right outside the hotel. One block past that is western limit of French Quarter and you don't hear a sound. One block the other way is St. Charles Streetcar towards Garden District and Uptown. EVERYTHING is within walking distance. 24-hour fitness room and room service for late-night exercise and/or dining. Very attentive staff.”

• Having to pay $29.00 a day parking fee was disgusting.

“The hotel was difficult to locate especially with another Marriott across the road. The four star rating was overrated. 3 star would be more suited. The swimming pool was closed and the gym was average. A spa and steam room would make a good addition.”

“The JW Marriot is a very nice hotel that easily lives up to it's rating. The rooms are spacious, quiet, and the furnishings are excellent. We did not have occasion to deal with the staff except during check-in, but they seemed friendly enough. Overall, we were very pleased with both the hotel and the price.”

• The beds are very comfortable.
• Plenty of taxis but no town car service on site.

“I ordered two fruit plates for breakfast and a pot of coffee. 38.00. The coffee was OK. The melon slices were totally tasteless. The blueberries weren't washed and tasted like something you scraped off your shoe. Had to throw it all away.”

• My room was cleaned & straightened twice each day!
• It was a hike to the Convention Center & pool was closed.

“I would highly recommend this hotel to others. It is what I would expect of a 4-star hotel. The only disappointment was the pool was closed for renovation. I'm sure it will be great! The staff was friendly at check-in. The cleaning staff was great, my room was cleaned in the morning & straightened with turn-down service at night.”

“We were thrilled with the JW Marriot New Orleans. As advised, we called the concierge ahead, to politely ask for a king bed and a high floor, we got both along with a free room upgrade; we also had champagne and strawberries delivered on our anniversary compliments of the Hotel! The Canal Street location was the best, we walked to everything, both streetcars lines are within one block. Brand new and very lovely rooms, toiletries were very nice. Staff were superb, with lots of local tips. We didn't use gym or pool, we were too busy walking the streets!!! We did eat breakfast at Midi one day, it was pricey but good, we found so many good places to eat in Nola that we didn't return to eat at Midi again. I would go back again.”

“This is a smaller hotel, but just a block from Bourbon Street, so the location was great! The staff was all very helpful, and valet parking was the fastest I've ever seen at getting my car to me when I called down for it.”

“The hotel was great and the staff was excellent. The only thing that was suprising was the hidden cost at the motel. The roof was excellent and everything was great and at the cost of the hotel you could not beat it.”

“Staff was tremendous and they got rid of my valet parking charges ($100) because I stepped on a piece of broken glass on my carpet. Only negative is that they don't have a spa/whirlpool/Jacuzzi, but that was not a big deal. Great location. I would absolutely stay there again.”

“The hotel was extremely convenient to the French Qtr, casino, riverfront, and the aquarium. It was definitely a 4 star+ hotel and a true bargain at $60 a night (before taxes & fees). The only other cost was parking and occupancy taxes.”

“We stayed at the JW Mariott on Canal St in New Orleans. Located within a couple of blocks of the riverfront, perched at the outer edge of the French Quarter, we moved in and had an easy walk anywhere! The accomodations and hotel amenities were top notch and the front desk, valet and wait staff were eager to please. We couldn't have been happier if you just gave us the stay, which you practically did, at $49 for a $350 rack rate room.”
