• Everything requested was ready on arrival.
• Parking was very expensive. $ 32 for one night.

“Three families were traveling together. We requested a crib for two rooms and a refrigerator for one room.. All were provided very quickly and with great courtesy. Everything was neat, clean and top notch. The location makes this hotel perfect for anyone who wants to see the French Quarter. We ate in the quarter so no comments on the hotel food service. A really great place to stay at the perfect price. Only drawback is the cost of parking.”

• Everyone greeted us and were very friendly.
• I had to go down the street behind the hotel to checkin. The street wasn't a very good street.

• Internet Access.

“The internet access of the hotel was strange. I did not bring a laptop and had I, I would have been fine. However, all literature and staff said that the business center provided computers with internet access.”

• Free water bottles and lemonade.
• The air conditioning in the lobby was about five degrees too cold.

“The hotel was located perfectly right by Bourbon Street, with easy access to the streetcars and the river. We were always welcomed back to the hotel and staff went out of their way to get the elevators for us.”

• Proximity to everything we wanted to do.

“Went to a weekend football game at the Superdome, which was in easy walking distance. Plus the French Quarter was across the street for shopping and restaurants but didn't get the noisy from late night revelers.”

• The staff was the best.
• The pool water was salty - the water should be changed.

“Great deal. Excellent staff. Very convenient. Easy walking distance to everything. Valet parking ($32.00 per night but you can get your car as often as you want). Again the staff is the best.”

“A very nice hotel within walking distance of several attractions. Rooms were clean, nice linens and toiletries. Staff was very accommodating. The valet parking was the only negative at $32 a day. I would stay there again and recommend it to others.”

• Location.
• We had bed bugs! Carpet was stained.

“I was extremely disappointed in this hotel. We discovered bed bugs in our room on the 2nd night and the staff appeared unconcerned about the situation. They did immediately move us to a new room, but when I discovered some bugs in my suitcase the next morning and called to notify the manager, he was just short of being rude. He had no concern that I, not only might be taking them home, but had possibly infested the suite they moved us to. In addition, the towels were scratchy and the sheets in our first room had holes in them. Parking is very expensive at $32 per night. I would think twice before staying here.”

• Good location.
• Our room had BED BUGS!

“At first glance the hotel was promising. It is in a great location, the lobby was inviting, and initial staff we encountered were very friendly. However, there were stains on our carpet, the towels were thin and scratchy, and the sheets had a hole in them. On our 2nd night we discovered BED BUGS in our room! We were immediately relocated to a new room, but the staff appeared nonchalant about the infestation. The next morning I discovered some bugs in my suitcase and called to talk to the manager. He was unconcerned that, not only might I be taking them home with me, but that I had now infested the suite they put us in. Most of the staff were nice except for the manager on duty and one of the bellman. Parking was expensive at $32 per night.”

“My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel for the six days that we were in New Orleans. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The price and location was excellent. We will definitely stay there again.”

• Good central location and nice common areas.
• Rooms fairly standard hotel rooms; A/C was very loud; valet car retrieval was extremely slow.

“Overall, we enjoyed the stay here with nice common areas and amenities and a great location. However, rooms were pretty standard fare - not quite a 4 star expectation. Inconsistent information about local points of interest and needs from staff. Check out time at the valet area was complete chaos: no organization, no information, waited over 40 minutes to get vehicle.”

• Great location on Canal Street next to the French quarter, comfortable beds.
• Room door stuck, refrigerator was ancient and not very cold, ice machine on our floor didn't work, pool water was green.

“Great location. Room was quiet and the beds were very comfortable. Maintenance wasn't what I expected for a JW Marriott, pool was green with algae, room door stuck and was hard to open but overall a nice hotel.”

  gym.
• Pool.

“Excellent location. Very quiet and comfortable room. Very good gym. Free internet access in lobby. Very friendly staff. Clean. Only disappointment was the pool (cold, small, in shade most of the day). No airport shuttle. Cab for $12 per person.”

• Overall great staff that checked us in promptly and great room service!
• The menu in the room showed room service 24hrs even though it stopped at midnight.

“Upon initial arrival it was hectic but the check in staff was able to get our rooms and checked in quickly. Every time I ordered room service they were extremely nice and helpful. I also enjoyed the fitness center which had all of the equipment I needed to perform my normal workouts. I was thoroughly pleased with the hotel.”

• Great location on Canal Street, across from the French Quarter and on a streetcar line.
• $15 a day for wired internet, and no wireless internet in the rooms.

“The JW Marriott was very clean and the staff was very helpful, but the extra fees were exorbitant. $32 a day for valet parking is expensive, but seemed comparable with hotels in the area. However, charging $15 a day for internet is way too expensive, especially when many four star hotels (as well as three and two star hotels) offer wireless internet for free. Also, the bathroom in our room was tiny.”

• Opposing team for Pro Football game stayed at this hotel, and we got TONS of autographs.
• Web page stated pool was heated, and during a phone call they said it was heated. It wasn't.

“This was a nice hotel with easy check-in and no hassels. Room was large and airy, hotel staff excellent. Clean, clean, clean. Our only complaint during our stay was that the pool was not heated as specified.”

“Overall this was a beautiful hotel, right on Canal Street, steps away from the French Quarter. However, I was appalled to find out that of 5 treadmills in the gym, only 1 was in proper working order. I asked the front desk to send someone up to repair one and was told someone would be right there. An hour later, no one had showed up. Very poor service for an upscale hotel. Also, it's inexcusable that so many machines were not in working order.”

• Difficult to find parking garage entrance.

“This was a beautiful hotel but trying to find the parking garage was stressful for a downtown hotel. Also, the bathroom was entirely too small; you could not sit on the toilet and open the door at the same time. There was no free continental breakfast only a buffet for $16.99 which is extremely high for a family.”
