“This hotel is clean and the service staff is very professional. The room was clan and very roomy; I did not feel cramped. I did use room service and they were prompt as well. I had no transportation and this location enabled me to walk to all of the points of interest.”

“There was a fire at the hotel on the first night of our stay (in a meeting or storage room). The emergency alert system worked to perfection and the staff kept the guest informed during the entire ordeal. They supplied soda and water while we waited to get back to our room. Management decided to shut the hotel down as a safety precaution, but the Intercontinental made arrangements for all of its guest across the street and kept their employees with us to make sure we were sufficiently accomodated. Very impressive and very professional.”

  • We were kicked out due to a fire the 1st night and everyday was a nightmare with no end.
  • Everyday we would have to wait to see if we had a room until we cut our trip short!

“The hotel looked nice. The hotel caught on fire early evening and we were in lobby of another hotel till next morning. We stayed at another hotel and checked out of it to go back to the Inter-Continental. We waited till late that night and had to go back to the other hotel. We did this 3 days until we gave up and cut our trip short. Is there anything you could do?”

“Overall, an excellent when visiting New Orleans for business or pleasure. However, reception staff was totally misled us with regard with what amenities we would get when upgrading to club suite room. Front desk staff let hotel down badly.”

  • My bed had a big dip in it, so I had trouble sleeping!

“I did not think this was a 4-star experience no bathrobes or free anything, and my bed was uncomfortable. There was a big dip in my bed. I have stayed at a lot of nicer 3-star and 2.5-star hotels.”

  • The hotel was clean, comfortable, & located very close to attractions.
  • The desk staff was not very friendly, they often contradicted what I said.

“I really liked the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The escalator was broken the majority of the time, but that was no big problem. The bell captain and valets were great! They were very friendly and helpful! The desk staff could use some improvement. At first check-in I repeated something I had been told by a reservation agent on the phone earlier that day and a supervising desk clerk pretty much said I was lying. I know what I was told! Then, after searching for a room service menu everywhere in my room and not finding one I went downstairs to get one. I got the "It should be in your room" in a very doubtful tone and waited a good 5 minutes just to get one. Overall, my experience was great, but the front desk staff could use some lessons in customer service.”

  • The carpet had some stains and some furniture looked a little worn.

“I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location was great. 5 minute walk to Bourbon St. and 4-5 minute taxi ride to Jackson Square in the French Quarter. The staff was great. The room service food was amazing.”

“Beautiful large rooms and great location on St. Charles, great beds. On the St Charles line, short walk to quarter but quiet and out of the fray. Luke's across street, friendly, nice place for good bite, oysters glass of wine. Front desk staff was great, bar/rest staff a bit cold/formal and too pricy even at nice hotel surcharge.”

  • No free internet in the business center.

“Our stay was perfect from the moment we walked in the door to the time we checked out. We didn't have one negative experience during our time at the Intercontinental. Every staff member was courteous and prompt. The concierge was a huge help! We will definitely return.”

“Hotel outdated. Great location. The nickel and dimming is out of this world, $10 a night for internet and 30 bucks plus 4 bucks tax for parking a night, and finally $1 per local call. What happened to the days of free internet and free local calls. Will not be staying here again. Could have went to Cancun, Mexico for what I spent here.”

  • It was comfortable, convenient, clean and fairly accommodating. We didn't even have to pay to park as we parked on the street directly outside hotel.
  • They didn't much accommodate our request for late checkout.

“Convenient and safe, comfortable and quiet, bed was great comfort, bathroom was clean and nice. We enjoyed our stay. I don't think it would be a 4 star hotel.”

  • We were celebrating our 10th anniversary, the staff surprised us in our room with a card, bottle of wine, fruit and fleur-de-lis shaped chocolate.
  • Our schedules did not permit us to stay longer. :-).

“This hotel is fabulous. I've stayed in NOLA many times and the city never ceases to surprise you with new wonders and old comforts. Even a simple pancake breakfast in the hotel was actually very good! It is a few short walking blocks to the French Quarter and once you cross Canal Street, St. Charles Ave. changes its name to the wonderful "Royal Street", which is known for beautiful art and antique shops. So, your stroll deeper into the quarter is a visual delight. If art is your thing, it is maybe 2 driving miles to the arts & warehouse district, again a delightful place to stroll around. The staff was friendly, often smiling, went out of their way to help and very professional. Truly, this hotel was wonderful and Yes, I would recommend it to anyone traveling to NO.”

  • It was very old world and plush. Very elegant.
  • The room was not clean. A razor I did not bring fell on my head when I reached for towel and there were dirty tissues and toilet paper under my bed.

“The intercontinental was really nice! After pulling the car to the hotel, we were immediately greeted by the valet staff who offered to take our bags to the room. Check in was a breeze and the attendant even remembered my name at check out! The bathroom was really nice, the hot water was never ending. The bed was like a cloud. Really fluffy with a deep pillow top feel. I was so impressed I tried to recreate that feeling once I got home. The pool really clean and it was really quiet when we swam. They had free apples in the weight room. Speaking of which, was one of the best equipped fitness rooms I've ever seen in a hotel. I will definitely recommend this hotel to everyone I know!”

  • Small rooms and the valet parking retrieval took too long!

“The location was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Valet parking was great until you asked for your car back, it took extremely took long to get your car back. It took 20-30 min to get your vehicle without a line of people. The rooms were nice but the were very small. The beds were like cloud comfortable.”

“We frequent NO as a family and couple. This was definitely another fabulous NO hotel. The city is fun & exciting or relaxing & soothing - whatever you choose it to be! The streetcar travels directly in front of this hotel, the balcony off our room was a wonderful place to eat our breakfast, the pool and gym facilities were perfect for our needs and well-maintained. Many attractions, restaurants and art galleries are within walking distance or a short drive (under 2 miles) and of course, the streetcar is a wonderful option. This city never disappoints and this hotel is a gem.”

  • I left my business file brief case in my car, and when I checked out and loaded my luggage I realized, someone had gone through my briefcase!

  • The doorman were great, nice personality, Asian woman, very nasty attitude.
  • Patrons were required to either walk up a long staircase or take a back elevator. Some areas of the hotel were dirty, especially the carpet.

“Overall, the hotel was nice (upper floors). The up escalator was out of service which required the old and young to walk up a steep staircase or take a back elevator which accommodated 4 people max. The entry lobby was dark and un-welcoming. The maid service was not good but passable.”
