- It was convient to the French Quarter.
- There was no type of continental breakfast served with the room.
“The entrance to the hotel is nice, it's in a good location and the staff was professional. However, the rooms looked very old and it appeared the decor was from the 60s. They have a restaurant in the hotel but there is no type of continental breakfast or breakfast served with the reservation like I've experienced with other hotels in the past.”

- Close to the Street car Line.
- Inattentive staff, poor response to issues, costly parking, lack of knowledge by staff about any question asked.
“This hotel had every opportunity to be a quality operation. The staff was unable to answer questions about things to do in the area. Not one staff member offered assistance without being asked. The lack of a caring staff makes this hotel about a 2 star not a 4 star. If I were given a choice of hotels I would have been much happier with Priceline.”

- Room was small with an easy chair that should have been recovered several years ago.
“Intercontinental hotels project a very upscale image. This hotel did not fit that image. My room was not made up the first day until mid-afternoon. The room was small and dark with insufficient lighting. You could not read in bed with the lighting. The room had only one very old easy chair that clearly needed to be reupolstered-the reading light behind it was also insufficient. Not a memorable experience.”

- The door man was incredibly helpful and friendly.
- Parking fee is ridiculous.

- Being from Louisiana
I am quite familiar with the hospitality. Hotel Intercontinental did not dissapoint.
- The hallway carpet right near or beneath the floorboards were dirty.
“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at what I now call Hotel Continental. Our rooms had balconies and we had a good view. The location was great as it was a few blocks from the Superdome and Bourbon Street. I would definitely return to New Orleans as I always do and would love another stay at The Continental with the view.”

- The excruciatingly loud maid service, and beds that have not been changed out or even flipped in what felt like many years.
“The maids like to start their day early by camping in front of a guest room and having a good 30-45 minute long cackle-fest with their friends. In Spanish, of course. Then they proceed to spend most of the rest of the day, until as late as 5 pm, playing a rousing game of slam the door. Apparently extra points are scored if one can manage to slam the same door 18-20 times in 2 minutes. Honestly, the valet loosing our keys and taking 30 minutes to find our car I could have lived with. Even when he changed the station on said car and left it at a deafening level. I could also have handled the front desk clerk being less than friendly. I might even have still enjoyed my vacation with the very uncomfortable bed. But the constant, obnoxious, ridiculously loud maids ultimately ruined this stay for us. I have never in my life been treated so rudely, and so continuously. And for all the noise, they were lousy at the job: trash was not emptied, sinks were left filthy, bed making was very sloppy, soaps/lotions not replenished. But I cannot stress how ridiculous the slamming door noise was. I've had quieter, more respectful maids at a highway Motel 6! I've worked this job, there's no excuse for this level of disrespect to guests, and I know I would have lost my job if I had ever disturbed a guest to this unbelievable degree.”

- The location was exactly what I asked for and the staff was very friendly.
- The valet overnight parking was a little expensive.

“There was a fire at the hotel on the first night of our stay (in a meeting or storage room). The emergency alert system worked to perfection and the staff kept the guest informed during the entire ordeal. They supplied soda and water while we waited to get back to our room. Management decided to shut the hotel down as a safety precaution, but the Intercontinental made arrangements for all of its guest across the street and kept their employees with us to make sure we were sufficiently accomodated. Very impressive and very professional.”

- We were kicked out due to a fire the 1st night and everyday was a nightmare with no end.
- Everyday we would have to wait to see if we had a room until we cut our trip short!
“The hotel looked nice. The hotel caught on fire early evening and we were in lobby of another hotel till next morning. We stayed at another hotel and checked out of it to go back to the Inter-Continental. We waited till late that night and had to go back to the other hotel. We did this 3 days until we gave up and cut our trip short. Is there anything you could do?”

“Overall, an excellent when visiting New Orleans for business or pleasure. However, reception staff was totally misled us with regard with what amenities we would get when upgrading to club suite room. Front desk staff let hotel down badly.”
