- When there is a complaint to the front desk they do address the problem seriously.
- I didn't like seeing stains on the upholstery and dirty lounge tables while visiting the coffee shop on the first floor.
“Well, for the most part my stay went well. The lounge area was disappointing because the chairs and sofas were stained and the tables were left dirty everyday on visits there. I had a problem with my room imperfectly cleaned, hair in the tub, trash not emptied, stains in the carpet from the previous occupant, stains on the upholstery, and dingy sheets which was corrected with one complaint. The housekeeping supervisor came by and offered her assistance and compensation for my dissatisfaction. The vicinity of the hotel was chaos because street blockages may it difficult to enter the hotel, but the upside was my experience at the lobby's Starbucks. The service was above average and the area was clean. That made my mornings!”

- Loved the boutique atmosphere.
- Located on a side street that was dirty and in disrepair.
“Lovely little hotel. The art decor and contemporary decor was attractive and eclectic. Staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the concierge desk was unmanned and in disarray. I would definitely stay there again.”

- The hotel failed to accommodate my companion's feather allergy.
“The hotel is located one block off of canal street and Carondelet (becomes Bourbon street when it crosses canal) making it a great walking hotel to see the French Quarter. It lacks free Wi-Fi so business travelers be warned.”

- Great service by bellman; clever room wall prints- using room # and local street address numbers - nice touch.
- Older hotel not completely updated - ex. outdoor pool facilities.
“We were satisfied with the overall experience at this hotel, the Renaissance Peer Marquette; it is in the midst of a remodel and we found a broken window, a light fixture that remained on in our room, and a pool area not well maintained with old, well worn furniture; hotel personnel were quick to remedy our problems (we were quickly relocated to another room) and were very friendly and willing to assist with any of our needs; the location, one block back from Canal Street, and only two blocks from the French Quarter was perfect for us; we did not make use of the restaurant (did not even see it; the hotel was fully booked but remained very quiet at night; amenities such as room size, bed furnishings, bathroom area, access to internet, etc. were excellent; the club lounge was well stocked and accessible (after an initial glitch with the elevator key card mechanism); overall a good hotel, but not yet up the 4 star rating of most Renaissance hotels.”

- One of two telephones in room did not work and was not repaired. Face towel holder was inconveniently located and noisy.
“A luxurious post-modern hotel in the New Orleans business district and just across Canal Street from the historic French Quarter. Beautiful, well-appointed rooms with comfortable beds. Parking available at prevailing local daily rates with in-and-out privileges. Internet access, but at charge. Because of construction in area, pedestrian access can be somewhat difficult. Fitness center has aerobic machines and swimming pool, but no sauna. Bar area was rented out for noisy private party on one of my two nights.”

- Great location in a very beautiful building.
- The AC in our room was poorly designed; it never cooled the entire room.
“Great hotel, the buildings AC system has problems. We ran the AC at 68 the whole time and our room we were still warm while sleeping. The room was a bit muggy the whole time, too. They forgot to put shampoo in the bathroom the first night, and they forgot toilet paper on another night.”

- I liked the design of the lobby and the cool jazzy feel of the entrance of the hotel.
- I did not like the picture of a tomb inside my bathroom and I did not like the fact that my hotel room did not have a bathtub just a stand in shower.
“The hotel itself stands true to the reputation of the Marriott chain. Only issues I had with the hotel was the high price you had to pay for valet parking. The bellman's attitude upon entrance of the hotel was a little damper. The stain on the floor room 1412 is terrible.”

- TV was not in front of the bed. It was in a corner.
“We booked a Deluxe King room. When we got to our room we were at first delighted until we got actually in the door. The bathroom was the best part of the entire room. The bed was a Queen and not at all comfortable. The air was not great. We got hot quick. Was barely enough room in front of the bed to walk around. Nice view. Big desk that didn't belong. TV was not in a good place. You couldn't watch TV comfortably from your bed. I would have rather had a bed in the bathroom.”

“A very nice hotel in a great location. Two blocks from French Quarter but on a quiet business street. Rooms were fairly large and nicely furnished. Staff was friendly. Valet parking is high priced at $28 per night. The restaurant was also expensive for breakfast, but we found a very inexpensive dive (Dixie Gyro) just around the corner that had a nice breakfast for $6. Some of the reviews I read before the trip mentioned construction in the lobby but we didn't see any construction during our stay.”

- Heater and several outlets not working but repaired while we were there.
“Very nice decor in hotel. Customer service was excellent. Hotel seemed to be still under some construction since electrical amenities were not properly working. Hotel room was a bit small and could not accommodate the tray when we ordered room service. We had to eat sitting on the bed. There were no chairs to sit and comfortably enjoy our dinner.”

- Parking was a little high, could of parked a block over for $8 less a night

- The valet had great service.
- The sheets had hair and dirty spots in them when we arrived.
“We were not at all impressed with this hotel. There was only one restaurant open at night within walking distance, and it was not casual and was very expensive. This was not a place for children. The room was the smallest room we have ever stayed in. When we arrived, the sheets on the bed were full of hair and were dirty. The lady came to change them, but did not change the pillowcases, so we did not have pillows to use. The sheets were paper thin and there was not a mattress pad on the bed. I did not feel clean the entire weekend. The whole experience was disappointing.”

- Very Chic! Easy parking, nice rooms.
- Pool was closed for cleaning - but it was prob. too cold to swim anyway.
“This hotel was terrific. Very nice boutique hotel. The room was spacious. Ordered dessert from room service and it was great. Parking was convenient and safe. This was a good location - sort of off the beaten path but close to everything. Heard revelers at 4are partying on the street - but that's New Orleans!”

- The room was nice, clean and modern. I really liked the decor of the bathroom and the bed was comfortable.
- Most of the public spaces were closed for construction. We did not know this upon making reservations.
“I was surprised at the nice, comfortable room for the price. The location was not far from places we visited. We were able to walk most places (a little sketchy at night)! The parking was expensive (valet only). The staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay at this hotel again. Absolutely.”

- Very poor service. Staff seemed disorganized.
“The staff was very, very disorganized. Calling the front desk was a pain, and it often took multiple calls to get someone (what, were they ignoring calls?). We left the hotel at noon and called and notified the front desk we were leaving so they could have house keeping clean our room. When we returned at 6:30 pm, the room still hadn't been cleaned. The location is decent, but Id rather pay more money and stay someplace that has better service.”

“Over all the hotel was pleasant and I would rate it a three star. Hotel was decoration was very modern and rooms are spacious. But, the water pressure came out at a dribble which made getting ready a slow process. What will stop me from staying at this hotel again was the feeling they were trying to take advantage of us with billing.”

- Extremely comfortable beds!
- A little dark getting to/from French quarter.
“4 star hotel just a block or two from all of the main action surrounding the French quarter in new Orleans! Very comfortable beds w/huge bathroom. Hotel was very clean both in the public areas and all areas of our room. Hotel was very quiet and sleeping was easy, but only 1 2 blocks away from all the sights/sounds of bourbon St. And the French quarter. Highly recommended!”

- The shower head was broken, did not take a shower.

- The rooms (esp. The bathrooms) were very modern and spa like.
- The front lobby was very drab but they were undergoing renovations.
“This is a great hotel based on its location and the trendy rooms. It is close to the quarter, the business district, and the warehouse district. The hotel is undergoing a renovation of its lobby so it is not as nice as some, but the rooms are reminiscent of a spa (especially the bathroom). The free breakfast was not included.”

“Once they finish remodel, this will be a very nice hotel. My only objection is they charge for internet access lower level hotels supply it free; this never made sense to me.”

- It was exactly in the correct place. We wanted to be close to the French quarter but not in.
- Nothing comes to mind.
“I found the hotel to be clean, even though they were in the process of remodeling the lobby and bar area. The rooms were very clean and well stocked.”

- Location was great to get to French quarter.
- Rooms not clean.
“We had to change rooms 3 times. We found hair in our bed in the first room. There were hair and fingernails clippings in the bed in the second room. The third room, the sheets had nothing on them but did not look fresh. The room was very small, there was no bathtub. The parking was very expensive and the valet parked the car at 5:30 p.m. And was told upon check out that the car had to be out by 4 p.m. Or another day of parking would be charged. We were going to the saints game and wasn't sure if we would be back in time. Other places in town let you park for 24 hrs. Did not eat there, the restaurant was completely empty, so I did not know if it was open or not. There was construction in the lobby. However, the staff was friendly and appeared apologetic about the unclean rooms.”

“The hotel lobby was under construction, the "jazzy" decor was under cover. Over all good experience, the staff was very friendly and helpful.”
