“Overall had a pleasant stay, the property is absolutely beautiful and the staff was great!” Apr 18, 2008 by
Louis from Rochester Hills, MI
“Hotel is nice and close enough to the French Quarter, central business district, and the emerging art district to be convenient for most visitors.” Apr 17, 2008 by
Andrew from Nashville, TN
“Filled with New Orleans charm and a gracious, accommodating staff, Le Pavilion falls short in the rooms - they feel old and desperately need a refresh. Other than that, we loved our stay. We'd definitely return.” Apr 14, 2008 by
Christina from Manhattan Beach, CA
“It was a beautiful hotel.” Apr 14, 2008 by
Julie from Baltimore, MD
“This is an excellent hotel with a lot of historic charm and ambiance. I would definitely stay here again. This would be a great place for families who want to stay out of the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter but still be close enough to walk there whenever they wanted.” Apr 11, 2008 by
Mike from Fullerton, CA
“Historic hotel with lots of amenities but showing its age a bit.” Apr 11, 2008 by
Stephanie from Chicago, IL
“When we arrived, they gave us an already occupied room and then a room with two beds. Finally they gave us a single bed and we loved our room. Room service is a bit slow, but reasonably priced. Their breakfast buffet is a little on the expensive side, but delicious and super fast. Parking is reasonably priced and the doorman is super helpful. They give you free peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with milk from 10-11pm as a midnight snack. I would say this is the quietest room I've ever slept in. Usually on business trips I have trouble sleeping because people are loud in the hallways, but I had perfect nights of sleep all 4 nights. The pool has an amazing view off of the roof.” Mar 12, 2008 by
Taylor from Buffalo, MN
“Classy and Regal, but Quaint? Peanut Butter and Jelly in the Lobby at night was pretty fun. Service staff was excellent and I heard the restaurant was nice, but didn't have a chance to visit it. Brunch looked awesome. Just a short walk to Canal & Bourbon. Trolly service to Canal made it easy to get around town without a car.” Jan 17, 2008 by
Audi from Gonzales, LA
“The hotel was exceptional. It is my favorite hotel in New Orleans. However, it was our first time sleeping on the left side of the hotel and it was somewhat noisy with the outside traffic. I would definitely stay there again just request the opposite side. I am also very pleased with the staff at the hotel. They made me feel like I was the only guest in the hotel.” Dec 31, 2007 by
Alan from Terry, MS
“During check in was told I was upgraded to a king room which as it turned out was actually smaller than and not as nice as the double queen rooms. Bed mattress was just so so, not as plush and comfortable as most 4 star hotels Ive stayed at. Basic cable did have HBO but no on demand movies to purchase. No vending machines and no store close by to purchase snacks and etc. Had to use their high priced mini bar for refreshments. Internet service was very weak and never got a good signal for wireless notebook.” Nov 26, 2007 by
Priscilla from Elk Grove, CA
“Too small for family travel. Not modern enough for business travel, no place to plug in computer (electrical). Decor was beautiful though.” Nov 10, 2007 by
Mike from Trinidad, CA
“Classic New Orleans with fantastic attention to detail.” Nov 8, 2007 by
Mark from Calgary, AB CA
“Le pavilion is a fine establishment celebrating 100 years of high quality service. Southern hospitality in a convenient location with bed and breakfast charms and personalized touches. Concierge staffs exceed expectations at every turn. We were treated like royalty on a peasant's budget. We wish to return for a future stay.” Nov 7, 2007 by
Zina E. from Los Angeles, CA
“Beautiful rooms. Hospitality plus from the staff. I thought the housekeeping staff was not quite 4 star, but would emphasize I got the sense they were training, and I would give them a second chance. Room was clean, but one day someone else's half finished drink was left in the room; the room's clock radio's alarm was not turned off from the prior guest (5 a.m. ouch). Not horrible, but not really 4 star.” Nov 7, 2007 by
Laniel from Memphis, TN
“The hotel was lovely. The staff gave excellent guest services. The food was delicious, and it came in a timely manner.” Nov 5, 2007 by
Nick from Belmont, MA
“A good value for a unique, stylish hotel from another era. Great staff, friendly, attentive. Room was too small to work effectively at the desk with a laptop and papers. Bathroom was a little worn and in need of some attention (e.g., loose faucet, dripping shower, tight space).” Oct 31, 2007 by
Scott from Montgomery, AL
“This was a wonderful hotel to visit and I hope to stay there again when I go back the staff was extremely kind and friendly. Parking though was expensive $28 but I knew my car was safe.” Oct 30, 2007 by
Julie from Abington, PA
“Overall, I thought this was a nice hotel. The staff was very friendly and I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.” Oct 29, 2007 by
Ed from Reno, NV
“I am conflicted about this hotel as a 4 star. The pros: the most unbelievable lobby you ever experienced, 5 or 6 star lobby. Mind blowing. Unbelievably friendly service. Historic. A truly special experience. On the other hand, I am spoiled on 4 star hotel rooms and bathrooms. The room and bathroom is historic in a bad way, as in small with older bathroom fixtures. I mean if you want the total historic experience, you'll be in nirvana, but if you want a large, modern room and pristine, modern bathroom, it will not be up to par. But the fixtures are not rusty, old. They really do a great job with maintenance and cleanliness. I'm not a big fan of restored, historic hotels, or "boutique" hotels, but this one is the cream of the crop and I would stay here over the Hilton riverside for the same price which is more like days inn.” Oct 2, 2007 by
Chuck from Independence, LA
“Staff was very friendly, but the hotel was going through some construction. The overall parking was horrible, and very pricey!” Oct 2, 2007 by
Christie from Jackson, MS
“Very beautiful, unique, well run hotel.” Sep 26, 2007 by
Catherine from Pascagoula, MS
“The public spaces are beautiful! The pool and hot tub are on the roof and have a beautiful view! The service (from valet, to bellmen, to concierge & maid service) was exceptional! The rooms themselves were a little dated. It felt like a nice room from the 50's. We didn't mind it at all. It was very clean and comfortable.” Sep 10, 2007 by
Sally from Longmont, CO
“I have never had a better travel experience. This hotel would have been well worth the going *special* rate available from the hotel itself. The place is gorgeous: well appointed, clean and historic. The rooms were exceedingly comfortable, well-stocked and quiet. The staff was superb, from the front desk to valet to housekeeping, everyone was friendly and professional, a rare combo I find. The location is perfect. We were able to visit several different areas of the city by merely heading in a new direction each morning. Honestly, this stay exceeded our wildest hopes.” Sep 9, 2007 by
James from Fresno, CA
“You just cannot go wrong here. What a beautiful hotel with a great staff!” Sep 7, 2007 by
Dave from Denver, CO
“Le Pavilion is an ornate, often grand hotel with gracious staff and disappointing rooms. The lobby, restaurant, bar and hallways are among the most impressive in New Orleans, with huge crystal chandeliers, high ceilings, elaborate statuary, and quarries of marble, as well as noteworthy paintings, and rich fabrics. Employees are delightful and welcoming. While name usage wasn't great, every employee with whom I interacted was enthusiastic, friendly, and helpful. As well, it is clear that the staff takes great pride in their workplace. Hotel decor will either delight or disappoint. While the over the top decoration works in the public areas, in the guestrooms, these flourishes may be too much. Tasseled valences over the shower curtain, for example, can be off-putting. That said, the guestrooms are disappointing, in size and decor. Unlike modern guestrooms' the building is over 100 years old' there is no entry alcove once you've come into the room. So the room seems like a bit of a box, and a smallish one at that. The decor grand in large spaces seems dated and stilted in a guestroom. The armoire eats up much of the room too a flat screen TV would increase the perception of space a great deal. Bathroom, though nicely finished in marble, is small by today's standards, and looks as if decorated by a drag queen. There was some wear issues a badly maintained bathtub, for example' but overall, housekeeping and engineering staff work to the place looking good. On the rooftop, there is a small though nicely furnished fitness center, as well as a great swimming pool, whirlpool, and sundeck. Great place to spend a sunny day' but tanners note: There are only eight chaise lounges around the rather small pool. Overall, service is good, though one day, housekeeping overlooked cleaning our room, and for a luxury hotel, you might expect better name usage.” Sep 7, 2007 by
James from Tulsa, OK
“Le Pavilion is one of the most beautiful hotels. It's celebrating its 100th anniversary this year and truly unlike any other hotel I've stayed. It is very romantic and reminds and very European. The rooftop pool was great as well.” Sep 6, 2007 by
Joe from Laguna Beach, CA
“The imported French chandeliers, art and marble are exquisite. This hotel is pure Versailles! The rooms are elegant. The rooftop pool is surrounded by magnificent views.” Sep 4, 2007 by
Fran from Columbia, MS
“Everyone from bellman to clerk was gracious. The room was clean, the amenities were great, and the peanut butter and jelly with hot chocolate at 10 pm was the perfect end to a day.” Sep 3, 2007 by
Juan C. from Brooklyn, NY
“I had a wonderful experience in this hotel. This was my first time in new Orleans and let me tell you it was worth it. Nice rooms, beautiful lobby, excellent service, top notch! A bit far from everything (like four or five blocks) but if you know how the local transportation works you will be fine (or take a cab). Overall thrilled.” Aug 28, 2007 by
Leana from Atlanta, GA
“Beautiful decor and history front desk was not helpful. You can't walk on the streets at night from this hotel. Must take a taxi especially for women.” Aug 23, 2007 by
Mary from Wylie, TX
“I was very impressed with everything about this hotel. Its decor was marvelous and the children loved the pool and cabana on the roof. True to its tradition, its hot chocolate and pub sandwiches were just great. Every person in their job capacity went above their means to help us out. I would defiantly recommend this hotel.” Aug 16, 2007 by
Forrest from Belle Chasse, LA
“Great hotel! Beautiful with a wonderful and pleasant staff! Just a bit further from the French Quarter than I wanted to be, however not a bad walk. Definitely would stay again!” Aug 3, 2007 by
Eric from Antioch, TN
“I am overwhelmed by the trip. This hotel was extremely exquisite and breathtaking.” Jul 31, 2007 by
Brian from Kerrville, TX
“The hotel was beautiful, the staff was attentive, and very helpful. Cool old world experience.” Jul 25, 2007 by
Amy from Baton Rouge, LA
“We could not have had a better stay in a better hotel.” Jul 18, 2007 by
Kevin from Houston, TX
“First, the hotel fixtures are old and not completely clean. Light switches, power outlets, door knobs, all very old and grimy. The shower head in my room was a deluxe model (nice) that was probably ten years old (not nice, it barely worked). You don't experience this in 4* hotels. The concierge was also not the most helpful. This hotel should be reclassified as a 3*. Nothing wrong with it, but it's not a 4* hotel.” Jul 11, 2007 by
Kay from East Orange, NJ
“Very beautiful hotel, French provincial furniture, antique reproductions. Fabulous strawberry shortcake. The waiters arrived in tuxedos. Nice touch.” Jul 8, 2007 by
Terry from Indianapolis, IN
“Great hotel. Very friendly people. Close to everything in New Orleans.” Jul 4, 2007 by
David from Daphne, AL
“With the devastation in the area we had heard a ton of reports about the increased crime and the bad state of affairs in the area. We spoke to other couples who stayed elsewhere who were upset with the terrible service. NOT SO at le Pavilion. Everyone was on their A game and we were very pleased about the hotel.” Jun 27, 2007 by
Ramona Q. from Antioch, TN
“Our stay at the Le Pavilion Hotel was fantastic with the exception of (2) issues: 1) While there were king-size beds available, it would have cost us an additional amount to have one, and 2) Being that I am a native of NO., and knowing the food serving you get, it was very disappointing not having a microwave or refrigerator in room. We could not take back any leftovers.” Jun 23, 2007 by
Karen from Champaign, IL
“Lovely lobby. Our room had too much furniture, smelled of mold, and the mattress was in need of replacement. Safe parking. Good location for businessmen, but need to drive or take a cab to the downtown area in the P.M.” Jun 21, 2007 by
Gregory from Bronx, NY
“As a first time, solo traveler to New Orleans, helpful and accommodating staff really helped make my stay pleasant from the get-go. I arrived a bit early to check in, and the very helpful lady at the front desk welcomed me, and allowed me to check in early and get settled in. All of the employees were very courteous in this hotel, which really helped to create a very classy, warm environment. They even hailed a cab for me to get to the airport when I was leaving. There were lots of small touches along the way, including the late night snacks in the lobby that really made the hotel a great stay.” Jun 20, 2007 by
Robert from Tifton, GA
“This is a beautiful hotel that is more than 4 stars. The service is wonderful and the staff will go out of their way to help in any way they can. The rooms are clean and way above a 4 star rating. I will stay in this hotel every time I visit new Orleans. Each night they have a pub and j buffet that is wonderful for the kids and it's free just for staying. When we departed the staff slipped a recipe for pub and j cookies made out to my son thanking him for being such a wonderful guest. They really made us feel welcome and comfortable. They have a rooftop pool and hot tub that is second to none. Also, after hurricane Katrina, they put up all of their employees and their loved ones affected by the storm until they got back in their homes. This hotel and its management is nothing less than a class act. I would recommend this hotel based just on that fact alone. You can't go wrong if you stay here. It's a short walk to the French quarter, and the river walk and they are very helpful with directions. Do yourself a favor and pick this hotel.” Jun 12, 2007 by
Peter from Port Allen, LA
“This a beautiful turns of the century landmark. The rooftop pool and Jacuzzi are very nice also. Great location and you have to partake in the late evening snack they provide.” Jun 11, 2007 by
Clint from Houston, TX
“Great hotel with a very friendly staff that tries to anticipate your needs. Great business hotel. I imagine their leisure packages would be very good as well.” Jun 9, 2007 by
Eric from Antioch, TN
“This Hotel brings you back in time in a very eloquent, expensive, tasteful way. I was shocked I was awarded this Hotel. I am from New Orleans. This is one of our finest. Please get rid of the Ambassador Hotel. This Hotel is beyond filth. You guys have received enough complaints to remove them from your list! I wouldn't put a dog at this Hotel.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 7, 2007 by

“Le pavilion hotel in new Orleans has a romantic old new Orleans "feel" with excellent service. The rooms were somewhat small and uncomfortable. If you stay be sure to upgrade to a larger room or suite.” Jun 2, 2007 by
John from Sugar Land, TX
“Not a good location, parking is too expensive. Not a four-star hotel.” Hotel Representatives:
