• The staff was extremely friendly and accomodating (Valet, front desk, cafe.)
• The $35/night PARKING FEE increased the cost of my hotel room by 50% !!! This was never disclosed until my arrival at the hotel.

“The Hyatt is a beautiful, we'll kept hotel. The staff was very helpful. I will definitely stay there again. Although its a few minutes from the French quarter and other regions they provide a free shuttle or assistance in getting to different places.”

• Very poor cleaning of rooms! I booked two rooms (one for my parents) and both were poorly cleaned during the time we stayed there.

“Hotel is located at the edge of downtown. The hotel connects to a run-down shopping mall. Easy transportation to French quarter and other parts of city. Staff were helpful, but room cleanliness was among the worst I have ever seen with dust, finger marks, etc being visible throughout out stay.”

“Not much charisma, mostly this is a businessman's and convention hotel, but for 60 bucks a night we felt like we came up with a true bargain! The extra money was spent on some fabulous New Orleans food!”

• The hotel has a separate "atrium" for smoking rooms.
• At check-in, the staff was unaware of the availability of the tickets for the Jazz Fest Express Bus, sold at the concierge desk.

“Good: separate wing for smokers (with outdoor balconies), connection to mall, free shuttle downtown, sports bar with HUGE TV, and a Jazz Fest Express pickup/drop-off point, indoor & outdoor pools, whirlpool.

Bad: Dirty underwear & towel left in room from previous guest, cockroach in ice bin (with no response from desk manager, other than the offer of a new bin), check-in staff did not know about availability of tickets for Jazz Fest Express, no free parking.

Overall -- Yes, I would stay there again, but I would hesitate to recommend it to someone I love.”

• No towels, housekeeping said they would send up, one hour later no towels, no answer in Housekeeping!!!!

“The facilities are great. Our room appeared to need some updating, but it was clean and very quiet. The staff overall was extremely friendly and professional, we had a glitch with getting towels the last evening which really put us in a bind time-wise. I was very surprised and disappointed when it became a 2 1/2 hour ordeal, when the woman cleaning our room said she would take care of it before we even came back that afternoon. ”

• Location good for a business trip, but not so great for a New Orleans tourist

“Overall the hotel experience was excellent; great staff, beautiful lobby/facilities and very nice spacious rooms. As mentioned above, its a perfect place for a business traveller, but the location is not as good if you're a tourist -- you've got to walk several blocks (in an area that appears that it might be somewhat unsafe, particularly at night) or catch a cab in order to get to the French Quarter, streetcar line, restaurants, etc. ”

• The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was georgeous
• Parking was outrageously priced, but there was a cheaper lot at Macy's

“We were thrilled with the exciting modern design of the hotel. It was fun riding the glass elevators. Our room was large and well appointed. Very quiet in the rooms. Easy taxi ride to anywhere we wanted to go.”

“This is the 4th year I have stayed here for Jazz Fest. The location is convenient, a Jazz Fest shuttle picks up and drops off at the Hyatt. The Hyatt shuttle is convenient transportation to the Quarter. Valet parking in New Orleans is VERY expensive - $30/night. I will stay there again next year.”

• $33/day to park your car is a rip-off!!! Staff not very friendly- got charges on our room for stuff that wasn't ours.

“We were promised a room with a king sized bed, non-smoking. When we arrived, we got a room with two double beds instead. At least it was still non-smoking. Overall the staff was not very knowledgable or friendly and I would NOT have booked this hotel had I known you have to pay $33 a day just to park your car OR you can park it down the street for $20 a day with no ins and outs. Got charged for "breakfast" that we never had..”

• Lobby was clean and people staff was friendly. The rooms were not 3.5 star quality.
• Our A/C went out in the room at 11:00 pm and it took them until 1:30 am to repair the problem.

“After having the A/C problem in my room I spoke to the manager who only said she was sorry for the inconvience of us being up half the night and she was sorry that my 3 year old was awaken by them working in my room. After returning from the trip, I contacted Hyatt Customer Service and they are giving me one night free to make up for the bad night. I will not by choice stay at this hotel again.”

• They said no queen or king beds were available

“I believe they would not give us King or Queen accommodations because we had a discounted room rate. It was a huge hotel and obviously had available rooms since we did not book until 3:00 Saturday afternoon. I would not want to stay there again for that reason.”

• Furniture, furnishings and decor were shabby.

“This hotel has the potential to be beautiful; (it was in the past and can be again). Staff members were friendly and helpful. The view from the atrium and the elevators was lovely.
The furnishings in the room were somewhat musty and very average. Furniture in the room and the lobby was sorely in need of refurbishing or replacement. The bathroom was not as clean as one would wish.”

• The staff were well trained, polite, friendly, and accommodating!
• We like the Hyatt Regency and enjoyed our experience there!

“The Hyatt Regency near the Superdome in New Orleans welcomes visitors from near and far -- the night we were there, the staff had also welcomed 600 cruise ship passengers whose ship encountered problems along the Mexico coast. Without that information from a passenger in the lounge, we'd never have known just how stretched" the staff and facility were! They do a superior hospitality job!"”

• We thought the staff was the best we have ever dealt with.
• The free shuttle to the French Quarter should start before 9:00 am and should run later than 11:00 pm.

“This was our first experience with the Hyatt in New Orleans. I was afraid it was a little too far from the French Quarter but it worked ok with the free shuttle. We just wish it started by 7:00 am and would run until at least 12:00 at night. ”

• My kids enjoyed the shops and the height of the building (elevator)
• Everything was great, nothing I disliked.

• That when I had a guest coming to my room security would not let him in, I had to go down stairs at 4:30 to get my guest

• We had the most gorgeous view of the Superdome from our room! We had windows on an entire wall!
• The maid service didn't clean our bathroom on our 2nd day there.

“The poor quality beds gave us severe lower backaches directly in the lumbar area. A better bed is definitely needed! I would have been better off sleeping on the ground.”

• Great view of the city; convenient, free bus ride to the French Quarter; very close to Superdome!
• Hotel is 8 walking blocks from French Quarter. The bus only went as far as Harrah's due to a festival...long walk!

“The Hyatt has a beautiful interior, is very close to the Superdome, and within 10 blocks of the French Quarter...cab ride to the Quarter was under $10. The Hyatt offers a free bus ride to Harrah's Casino and Jackson Square (unless there is a festival in the Quarter). Also, the Hyatt has an indoor pool, workout room, piano entertainment, and a nice restaurant. Valet parking is pricey, and the lot they recommend is 1/3 as much as one down the street (Macy's). Still, we would not have a problem staying there again. ”
