• Concierge told us about the free shuttle to the French Quarter
• Our bathroom was not clean! Lots of hair on floor & tub.

• great shuttle bus to take guest to French Quarter and casino
• too far to walk to the French Quarter in the summer heat

“This is a big hotel that is attached to a Macy's. It is next to the Super Dome which makes it a little far from the French Quarter. However, the big shuttle bus which runs every 1/2 hour was nice and it take and pick up the guests in front of Harrah's casino and also 1 block from Cafe du Monde. The lobby of the hotel is nice and impressive, but they need to do some paint touch up on the doors of the rooms.”

• Nickel and Dime costs for everything.

“This is an okay hotel but could do the little things better. You have to pay $2.00 for a cup of coffee, parking is inconvenient or you need to pay $30/night for valet. There were no hand towels or wash cloths in bathroom. Coffee in room was not replenished after first night. Entry way light didn't work. Although attached to shopping mall, nothing in mall was open on Saturday Evening to get something to eat so only option was overpriced/poor service hotel restaurant. This is a much better location when there are events at the adjacent Superdome.”

• The valet staff is the best!
• The desk clerks are rather slow and unfriendly we waited 20 minutes to check in.

“The valet attendants are on top of things. The hotel itself is beautiful and clean. The only problem I had was I think it was ridiculous that I waited 20 minutes, while holding my bags, to check in with only one person in front of me. I think what really got me was there was another desk clerk just standing aroung doing nothing.”

• Asked for extra pillows the first night and did not get them.

“Rooms were clean and staff very helpful. Enjoyed my stay in New Orleans and the Hyatt was one of the reasons my family had such a good time.”

• Good location for tourist attractions. Fast elevators.
• "Cold" atmosphere.

“Hotel has a large convention area. Good for business travelers who are having meetings in the building. Hotel seems "cold". Not a warm, homey feel to it. Staff was very nice. Used their valet parking, at $30 per day/night. Rooms are fine. Nothing special. Regular hotel rooms - neat and clean. Not enought help working the lounge - on a Friday night, with a convention there - couldn't get anyone to take our order. Pool and hot tub are outdoors. Very nice, clean. Hotel is attached to a shopping mall. Made it handy to do some shopping. Good shuttle into the French Quarter.”

• We loved the location on the hotel.
• The Hotel charges 32.00 a day for parking.

“Our overall experience was a good one. We were shocked when the hotel staff told us about the parking fee. We thought that the parking would be included in the daily rate.”

• we met some new friends there
• the room was located on a non-a/c'd hallway and smelled bad

“the hotel is nice and the reception staff was friendly...but there was no concierge available on the several times we needed help. we have paid considerably less for much nicer hotels. we also did not appreciate the valet excusing our cab driver's unethical and probably illegal activites of using no meter and over-charging us. ”

• The room was very clean - rest of hotel was not
• No hot water. Room not ready until 7 PM. Told us 3PM

“Glad didn't pay more for this hotel. We waited four hours for room to be ready. The next morning there was no hot water. Room was very clean. Hallways were not clean.”

• Great staff great service made the weekend worthwhile.
• Reservation was not held but was made up with additional room.

“The Hyatt of course is a tremendous hotel. It is centrally located to most attractions. The accomodations are above the 3.5 star rating. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to New Orleans.”

• Very close to the superdome. Took us 5 minutes to walk there.
• It took Housekeeping 45 minutes to bring an iron. Said she didn't get the message.

“Excellent location. Hotel is connected to a mall on the 2nd floor. You can walk through the mall to the Superdome. It also has a trolley service that takes you to the French Quarters and the casino every 30 minutes. This allowed us to leave our car parked the whole time.”

“Excellent service, clean and comfortable. The pool area was remarkable. I felt safe walking to and from the VA hospital, my husband had open heart surgery there. Thus the reason for stay. The mall area was great to get a bite to eat or just stroll to pass the time. I was very pleased”

• Cleanliness and convenience for my stay in town. Felt safe, walled to VA hospital frequently and was never uncomfortable. The mall was very convenient.
• the price for parking was a little extreme.

“I loved my stay and I felt very comfortable. The pool and the decor of the pool area made me feel like I was at the beach and not in the middle of town. It was a great stress relief as my husband had open heart surgery at the VA and I could relax at the HYatt between visits. ”

• The staff was very friendly, courteous and professional. The hotel was very beautiful.
• The bathtub in our room has not been scrubbed for a long time. It was dirty. They need to use a scrub brush and powder cleaner.

“The staff was very courteous. The hotel is beautiful and conviently located. I would stay again at Hyatt Regency at my next visit to New Orleans. However the bathtubs could use a good scrubbing. Just spraying a liquid cleanser and wiping with a sponge will not get out ground in dirt. Using a powder cleanser like Comet and a scrub brush on the floor of the tubs will get them sparkling white again.”

“Impressive hotel. 5 min walk to French Quarter if you miss the free shuttle. Beware of extra $30.00 per day to park which you won't be told about until you arrive at the hotel.”

• The atmosphere was breathtaking and the staff were very freindly and accommodating.
• I would have liked it to be about 3 blocks closer to Canal street but it was fine.

• Parking was $33.60 per day per car...RIDICULOUS!!!

“The hotel is really nice but the parking situation is unreal. You don't have very many options for parking in a city with as high a crime rate as New Orleans so it doesn't give you any choice but to pay the $33.60 per day per car. ”

• Good location
• valet parking too expensive; continental breakfast was $14.00!!!

“The hotel was very nice. The kids really enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Good location. Concierge was not much help and too expensive hotel parking but we parked right next door at Macy's for a lot less.”

• LOVED the staff...LOVED the pool and workout room...
• The parking was a little absurd at $33.60/day

“The staff at this hotel was about as friendly and helpful as I've ever seen. We walked to the French Quarter, but a cab ride is only $6. The pool and the gym was a most excellent treat, and the HighTops Bar is located on the third floor...oh, and the elevators are FAST...I stayed on the 17th floor and it didn't take a couple of seconds to get there. Great experience.”

• Bed is very uncomfortable! Shuttle is behind on scheduled pickups.

“The hotel is a little further from the quarter than we wanted but it was quiet. The hotel was a bit hard to find due to the underground entrance. The bed is VERY HARD and sleeping on the floor would have been the same. Overall a pleasant stay.”

• Was just what I expected.

“The Hyatt New Orleans met my expectations. It was clean with a nice relaxing pool and sun deck. Was within a nice walking distance to the quarter and trolley stops. Might need to cab it home after a long night out. But overall liked the location because it was away from the noise and dirtiness inside the quarter.”

• They gave me a room next to the freight elevator for the room service staff.

“PROS:* I requested a room for a view of the Superdome, and as high up as possible, they delivered on this. The view was fantastic!* The room service staff was very prompt and professional. The food was very good.* For such a large hotel the elevators worked very quickly. I hardly had to wait for one ever. CONS:* They gave me a room next to the freight elevator for the room service staff. It was VERY noisy when the doors closed!* Housekeeping on one day forgot to clean my room.* The room was a little small I thought.* The room service expense of the service charge and the delivery charge was outrageous. These two charges were 40% of the total bill.”

• The rooms were very plain - not the star level I expected.

“The hotel cafe was very expensive, but not good at all. The hotel did offer bus service to the French Quarter every 30 minutes but that was still inconvenient. It would be a great place to stay if all you were doing was going to the sporting events.”

• The staff was extremely friendly and accomodating (Valet, front desk, cafe.)
• The $35/night PARKING FEE increased the cost of my hotel room by 50% !!! This was never disclosed until my arrival at the hotel.

“Aside from the unexpected PARKING FEE that increased the cost of my stay by 50%, the hotel met my expectations for location, cleanliness, amenities, and staff knowledge and courtesy.”
