• Overall quality of the hotel; appearance, cleanliness, and service.
• Front desk didn't allow us to call down to have car pulled around; even though the valet parker suggested it.

“Our stay was absolutely enjoyable. The hotel was beautiful and the stay was very comfortable. The Romantic package with champagne and strawberries upon arrival was a perfect start to a great weekend. Thank you.”

• Location, technical equipment in the room, hookups.
• Smelled of paint and had paint tracks on the floor and baseboards, closet door was jammed.

“Hotel is conveniently located off of I-10 and the Causeway. It is newly renovated, but the room smelled like paint and had minor paint tracks on the floor and baseboards. Other than that, it was pretty clean. The room had a large LG screen with numerous options including internet as well as many hookups for the guest's own electronics.”

• Excellent Hotel, Easy access to and from. Clean and nice!!!
• The charge for in room internet service would be the only thing that keeps me from going back to Lakeside.

“Great location and Hotel. The extra charge for internet service was the only turnoff. Even the discount chains give free internet. I had work I could have completed but felt put off by the additional charge and chose not to pay the extra. Like I said previously, the extra charge for internet would be the only thing keeping me from returning and I will gladly tell my friends about how nice the hotel is, but will warn them about the extra fees associated with Lakeside.”

• I liked the beds, absolutely wonderful. Also parking was just $6.50, great price.
• I did not like the hotel shower fixtures, old. Carpet could be cleaned well & nice coat of paint on walls.

“Great hotel. Walls a little thin. I will stay there again. The staff was great. They moved me to another room, no problem, upon my request.”

• I liked the beds, extremely comfortable. The view from the 15th floor was really nice.
• This hotel should update their shower fixtures.

“I liked this hotel. Great for the price. In fact I will stay there again. The room could stand a light coat of paint and new bathroom fixtures. Other than that, everything was lovely.”

• It combined a lovely lake view with spacious lodging.
• Paid parking and marginally comfortable bedding.

“The hotel is in a good location. Restaurants, churches, shopping centers, and amusements are nearby. The three minute drive from the interstate makes it a quieter and more pleasant locale too. The staff is friendly and efficient. The rooms are spacious. Unfortunately, the parking charge is unnecessarily burdensome and the bedding is not the high quality support system I would expect.”

• The front desk staff was excellent, delightful, helpful, and courteous. The amenities in our room were well stocked.

“We found the hotel to be superb in hospitality. The location of the hotel has an excellent view of the lake front Parking fees were reasonable with or without valet service. Our stay was brief but memorable. ”

• Beautiful view of the lake. Staff went out of their way to please guest. Overall a very good experience.
• The inability to make a proper egg's benedict.

“I would highly recomend it to friends and family. You are close enough to enjoy the fast apced downtown New Orleans area and return to the comfort and relaxion of this hotel by the lake.”

• Patios locked, limited concierge, parking a pain.

“Was a very nice hotel. I didn't take advantage of all it had to offer so I cannot speak to the overall effect of the establishment. My experience personally was that the patio on my room was locked which I didn't appreciate, toiletries in the hotel concierge were limited, and parking in the lot across the street was cumbersome. The room was very nice and very clean, the beds were comfy, the bathroom was clean though small.”

• Hotel was in transition(name change). Hard to find with no name outside.

“Hotel in need of renovation. Staff was nice, but one knew nothing of nearby restaraunts. Had to take own luggage to car after a 30 minute wait when checking out. This was a problem as I am disabled and so is my son. No handicap accessible rooms with 2 double beds...only w/ 1 bed. No name on outside of hotel made it hard to find.”

• The room was in excellent condition and we loved the 9th story swimming pool
• We had to pay 6.75/day to park. The hotel staff were not very personable.

“This is a very nice hotel that overlooks Lake Ponchatrain. There is a great swimming pool, hot tub, jogging track, tennis courts and spa on the 9th floor.”

• Executive Level- cocktail hour, continental breakfast
• parking garage- spooky at night for female

“I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I was assigned a room on the executive level. I had a beautiful view of Lake Ponchatrain from my room. The executive level had an area for that floor only that had a free cocktail hour with a variety of food to snack on that evening and the next morning I was treated to a continental breakfast. Great value.”

• very dated decor in public areas, not up to "Doubletree" expectations

“Recently sold by Hilton/Doubletree to private investor group. Hotel needs massive updating - very 70's with tons of old brass and glass fixtures etc. It does not deserve to be ranked with a current Hilton/Doubletree caliber hotel. Large chunk of granite missing from front desk tells the story. Poor valet service. Nice fitness facility available on-site for $5/day usage fee.”

“Hotel is convenient to New Orleans. The facilities are top notch, with excellent staff. The furnished transportation and beds were very good since my wife recently had back surgery. The attendants helped us choose a tour guide to see New Orleans. Visit was very enjoyable.”

• Nice view and decent room.
• Not a true 3star. Low water pressure & bath tub corroded.

“For the price I paid, it wasn't a disappointment. The bathroom had very low water pressure. Taking a shower was not fun. I didn't feel like I could get the shampoo out of my hair with such low pressure. The room was nice otherwise. Parking was better than I expected. I had read online reviews that said you had to pay for parking, but they had fixed that. Parking was included. I didn't try out the pool, but I believe there was still a charge for that.”

• In a very beautiful location and a georgeous hotel.
• Not a single thing.

“It was simply beautiful. The staff bent over backwards to help us find our way in New Orleans.Never did I expect to obtain such an exceptional hotel with pool et. all for such a price.I hope I can return there again someday. Felt very secure and safe. They made us feel at home.”

• In a city of older hotels, it was nice to be in a modern building with good AC.
• If you miss the turn off for this hotel, you will be over the causeway.

“This hotel feels a bit strange because it is only has rooms on floors nine and above, but floors ten and up have a very good view and rooms that face north have an excellent view of the lake.”

• Staff was very friendly and professional, room was spacious and clean
• For a tourist, it is located too far from downtown and other attractions.

“The hotel is great. The only problem is the shuttle service. From the airport, pick up on on the hour. I arrived at 15 past and had to wait an hour for pick up,on top of which the driver was late, had to call 3 times.”

“I've stayed at this hotel several times before and have always found it to be clean and well maintained.This visit, however, it appeared to be less clean and somewhat worn down. The front desk top was chipped - bad first impression. The room wasn't as clean as I would have expected - carpet, walls, bedding, bathroom.”

• The distance between the parking garage and the inside of the hotel

“This hotel is perfect for someone looking to enjoy the city of New Orleans without the hustle, bustle, and noise of staying in downtown New Orleans. The rooms are spacious with a spectacular view of the lake. There is also something for the entire family from tennis courts, basketball courts, and a wonderfully paved running track, all of which also overlook the lack. I had a wonderful experience.”

• While checking in I was verbally assaulted by a limo driver and the hotel did nothing.

• SLOW room service & guy followed me into my room when I had left him by door....scared me...

“The hotel was fine. Valet service, upon arrival, was extremely slow. Did not remember seeing a charge for parking and there was, valet or not. Valet, upon leaving, left my car unlocked with valuables inside. Roomservice - after 45 minutes - I called down...I just ordered a side salad and bread pudding. When they finally brought it up, the roomservice guy - I had cash in my hand, I took tray and went to put on my bed, told him to hang on just a minute, he followed me in my room, right behind me when I turned around, I questioned him being inside, and reminded him I left him at the door for a reason, he continued in, to the nightstand, got pen, and then went back to the door....All the time, I had cash in my hand...no pen needed. Almost like he just needed an excuse... Scared me... Rough time sleeping after that...and definitely lost my appetite.”

• I only liked the location. It had good access to Lake Pontratrain and fast food restaurants to eat at. It was quiet.
• The hotel smelled funny and parking was not convenient at all especially if you have an SUV. You should park valet. No continental breakfast.

“The website for the hotel was beautiful, so I was really excited. It was near a Lake. It was nice on the outside, but it smelled funny. The parking was horrible and the walk up to my actual hotel room was to long. We had reserved a king, but ended up staying in a double with no view. I think this should be a 2 star hotel. We should have stayed at Motel 6. My 5th anniversary was the worst yet and I will not recommend this hotel to a single soul.”

• Better maintenance, little things like burn out bulbs, faulty shower heads

“The room was clean and large, and the view nice. Hotel could pay more attention to the details. A bulb was out in the room, showerhead was faulty, tv was on the blurry side, room service tray sat out in the hall for at least 30 hours. Staff was friendly. Restaurant food was bland and uninspired.”

• The facility was well maintained and had an excellent view.
• You had to park in a deck take the elevator down and then get on another elevator to go to your room a little awkward if you have a lot of bags.
