• The bed was comfortable.
• The drafty windows and doors, the roaches, the mildew on the ceiling, unkept overall appearance.

“I arrived at night. The hotel looked nice. Upon further inspection I noted the run-down overall appearance of the entire place. The draft under the door and window are inexcusable.”

• Just not as clean as I am use too.

“This is more of an extended stay with full kitchen. I felt like
I was in a moderate apartment complex rather than a three star hotel room that I usually get.”

• Location was appropriate and room was comfortable. I enjoyed my staff and would stay again.
• The kitchen faucet was missing a knob.

• I loved the kitchenette and fireplace
• Noisy - next to major highway.

“I found this hotel to meet all expectations. It was more like an apartment with one large room which had a king size bed, pull out queen sleeper, kitchenette, (2) desk, large bathroom and fireplace. We chose a unit in the back away from the highway - did not have a problem. The only problem was that our children were going to sleep on the pull out couch but there were no extra lines. Luckily we had brought a blanket wtih us. Everything else was great!”

“The hotel is in dire need a major renovation; all areas including the rooms are old and worn. The hotel staff is not customer friendly, had problems getting the correct room at check in.”

• Extremely convenient! It was outside the downtown area but close enough for quick access to meetings.
• Nothing negative.

“The Residence Inn by Marriott, Jackson, MS is a delightful departure from normal business motel accommodations. The room was spacious and clean. Services were unique including a full kitchen with grocery shopping service for those who like their own cooking and a fireplace for quiet relaxation. The onsite breakfast was a cut above even including a cook your own waffle. Afternoon entertainment was refreshing after a long day of meetings. Access to the property is not obvious but easy enough with full view from interstate highway. I also liked the pet friendly pet area and safe well lighted parking.”

• Very clean and front desk staff was very helpful and nice.
• I did not find anything that I did not like.

“Staff was great. Rooms were exceptionally clean. The breakfast had a variety of menu items for those who wanted to sit and eat or to take breakfast with them to go. The pool was clean.”

• The bathroom was nasty, dirty shower curtains and floor.

“The hotel overall was ok. The room was spacious. I did like that they provided you with cookware to use in the kitchen which was also quite spacious. The bathroom was dirty. The shower curtain and floor had dead bugs and stains.”

• Layout was like a block of small condos, not a hotel layout.
• The desk staff when we checked in late at night, very unprofessional!

• The breakfast and manager snacks were great.
• The exterior is a little run down - could use a coat of paint!

“Positives include: location near downtown, a quiet location, right next to a jogging track that is great, since the fitness facilities are limited. The kitchens are nice and the rooms are spacious. Internet is free, which is a plus. Negatives include that the exterior is a bit run down, the staff was not that courteous or helpful (I waited nearly 20 minutes to check in as the manager was not there on a Friday at 6 PM). I like the location, so I may stay there again but I would only mildly recommend it, instead of a super duper recommendation!”

• The rooms were large, clean, and the staff was amazing!
• The exterior of the hotel needed a paint job -- paint was peeling.

“We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were traveling with our young children, and the helpful and friendly clerk recommended a very fun, family-friendly restaurant that we all enjoyed. The rooms were large and very clean, and the linens were soft and a nice thread-count. The hot breakfast was delicious, and a large selection of items was offered, so everyone found their favorite foods. We will highly recommend this hotel to our family and friends.”

• The room was very spacious and clean. The continental breakfast was wonderful.
• The beds were really uncomfortable being that they sank to the middle causing us not to rest well.

“The hotel was very easy to find and had an apartment feel. We were surprised that it even had a fireplace in the room although we didn't use it due to the time of the year it was. The breakfast served had a good variety. The room was a nice size. The only complaint we had were the old mattresses on the beds. They sank in the middle causing us to roll to the middle, leaving us uncomfortably on top of each other.”

“Originally a well designed facility, with units which incorporate suite amenities including a fireplace. Units have received only enough repairs since construction to continue operation with no upkeep. Paint flaking, concrete spelling, rotten planking, extensive patching. Disappointing.”

“The staff in this hotel was very helpful and friendly. The exterior of the hotel seems to be slipping a bit, but was very comfortable and close to the highway.”

• Big rooms, convenient location.
• Located with a few yards of the interstate. It sounds like trucks are going to come through the walls.

“The hotel is in a very convenient location. It has large, spacious rooms and a kitchen. The staff was very friendly. Our room did look like it needed a deep cleaning. The main complaint I have with this hotel is that it is located within yards of the interstate. I am a pretty sound sleeper (I live by a train track) but several times I woke up to the sound of semi-trailer truck barreling down the highway. My husband and I both felt like we got a bad night's sleep.”

• The room was large, comfortable and roomy.
• There is nothing I did not like about this hotel.

“We arrived very late and the staff were very accommodating. We got a room with 2 double beds, pull out sofa, fireplace and kitchen area. The room was much better that I thought it would be. There was a bad storm that came thru the city which knocked out 1/2 the city's power so the hotel was full. They gave away our room due to our late arrival but it worked out perfectly as the original room only had 1 king size bed and we had 2 kids along with my husband and myself.”

• Filthy, filthy rooms with dirty bedding.

“There were used boxes of condoms and jelly in the cabinets in the kitchen. The bedding was not clean, meaning that someone hadn't bothered to change the sheets at all! The floors and walls were filthy. No one had bothered to wipe them down, and they had marks and smears and visible dirt on them. It was disturbing as well as disgusting. I could've stayed in a motel for that experience. They had a continental breakfast, but it didn't look sanitary or very fresh. Don't stay here if at all possible!”

• The area/space occupied via the overall room was outstanding ex: bed, TV, couch, kitchen etc. Was great.
• Both times moved to different rooms, was very loud from upstairs. Not "sleep" friendly at all.

“The front desk person was attempting to be very helpful. She moved us with no questions asked when the upstairs occupants were having a party. Then the 'new' upstairs occupants were just as loud. But I would still stay there again, just in an upstairs room! It seemed like there was not enough. Overall, I would still stay there again with a price that good.”

• This room is comfortable, clean and accommodates all your practical needs (including complimentary internet access).
• The outside could use some sprucing up. Climbing stairs could be problematic for some.

“This facility exceeded my expectations. It is easily accessible from the main highway. The kitchen is equipped. Internet access was readily available (no need to get a card or permission for access). It has a home atmosphere. Location is great with access to great shopping and dining.”

• Obvious weekly/monthly guests with lawn furniture outside their doors.

“This hotel seemed to have many long-term renters. In general, weekly/monthly renters with lawn furniture and coolers hanging out outside their room makes a business traveler, especially a female business traveler, feel uneasy.”

• Attention to every possible detail, including very friendly staff.
• Glass patio doors face highway, so there's lots of highway noise.

“It was very clean and spacious (we found at least 10 places to hide in our game of hide-and-seek). It was tastefully decorated (no "standard" hotel art or comforters). The full kitchen with dishes, silverware and coffee maker were a pleasant surprise, as was the spacious desk for working (with internet access). The YMCA guest pass was a completely over-the-top surprise; and, if you don't want to go to the y, you can swim in the clean pool or play basketball onsite. But the best part was the hot breakfast bar (even a waffle maker for my three-year-old to make her own tiny waffles) and remarkably friendly breakfast and morning desk staff. There is some highway noise, but once you get used to it, it's easy to sleep.”

• The manager reception and breakfast were horrible, along with the bed.

“Was very disappointed with this room. I have stayed at stay bridge suites in myrtle beach which has a 2.5 star rating as well. The description was a near similar type of hotel. If this hotel is 2.5 star, then the stay bridge suites is at least a 4.5 star because there wasn't any similarity in comfort and stay. I expected a hotel along the lines of the stay bridge since they are the same rating. This should be at most a 2 star and that is generous, more like a 1 or 1.5 stars.”

• We felt like we were staying in a roomy apartment not a hotel.
• The tub was somewhat slippery and sloped too much.

“We were delighted with the room. It is our first stay at a Residence Inn. We were impressed with the comfort of the room and courtesy and friendliness of the staff.”

• The outside of the hotel could be a little more modern.
