• The beds were extremely comfortable & roomy bathrooms.
• The only thing I disliked was the pillow thickness & firmness.

• The hotel was in a convenient area of town.
• Parking was farther away and amenities were not convenient.

“This hotel was clean and comfortable but room and bath were small. Other than the lobby, hotel features were comparable to 3 star hotels. Pool and hot tub were in need of repair. Fitness center was nice. Parking is $14 a day and not adjacent to hotel. At times hotel, garage was even full.”

• Beautiful hotel.
• The second room was not cleaned very well.

“My father and I were riding the elevator and the bell hop took the time to see how our stay was. He asked 3-4 questions and made sure that we knew it was ok to ask for assistance. He was first class and the rest of the staff was pure old fashion hospitality--which means excellent service!”

• The friendly people and the bedding, it was very comfy.
• The prices of the food in the hotel was a little more expensive than we liked.

“It was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were doing a lot of site seeing and they were all able to help. The beds were very comfortable and the decor of the rooms were very pretty and clean.”

• The staff was excellent, the hotel was clean and had everything a traveler would need!
• I did not like the fact that our vacation ended! The hotel was outstanding!

“When we arrived we were pleased with the location, the real test would be service and the appearance of the hotel. Once inside the lobby we were impressed at how clean both the hotel and the staff was. The room was outstanding. Iron, ironing board, coffee pot, wet bar, internet availability, hairdryer. There were 3 great restaurants at the hotel and 15 more within 3 blocks. We walked to Busch Stadium and Casinos from the hotel.”

• Hotel was very clean.
• Unable to park, no one to guide you to right hotel since it is split, fire alarm kept going on in room.

“Fire alarm would be triggered by the shower each time you take a shower. You get charged for parking when there is no room in the parking garage. Terrible nightmare dragging luggage 2 blocks away. Pitiful.”

• It was very nice and fancy.
• Too many additional costs for a higher priced hotel. Parking fee, no free breakfast, high cost for local calls. All the extras added an additional $70.

• The bathroom was pretty small.

“My husband and I traveled to St. Louis for a baseball game. We purchased this hotel and it was within walking distance to the stadium (about 8 blocks). The staff was very friendly and the bed was very comfortable.”

“We arrived and were told that the hotel had overbooked and that we were being walked to one of their sister hotels near the St Louis airport. That location is about 30 minutes from this one and is not as nice or convenient-certainly not a place a person who wants to be in Downtown St Louis wants to stay at.”

• Rooms were nice and clean and the staff was helpful for day trips, restaurants, etc.
• I did not mind. But there was little to view from the room. We were on the interior side of the hotel.

“Very well for a weekend trip to St. Louis. Within a short walk, you can find many nice restaurants or other little dinners, as well as Busch stadium and the Arch. Highly recommended.”

• We felt welcome, safe and comfortable. It was quiet in the morning we were able to sleep in.
• We like everything about the hotel.

“The only problem we had was finding the hotel. And when we did find it your parking garage was full. However, there was a very helpful gentleman outside directing us to a parking garage across the street where we were able to park for free. Not a huge deal though and it all worked out just fine. We had a very nice stay. It was very quite in the morning. That was nice!”

• We were looking for something downtown where we could walk to the ballpark.
• Hotel pool seemed a little small. Would have been nice to have an outdoor pool.

• Fancy style, quick elevators, great beds.
• Distance from Stadium/Arch, elevators only at one end.

“Very fancy, parking expensive ($14/night) and on opposite side of hotel as entrance, too far from Busch stadium, the arch. We never saw another person on our floor yet we were put in a room in the farthest corner from the elevators. No room has a view outside other than the building next door.”

“Great location in Downtown. Be sure to ask for an outside room so you can see the city. Self parking was easy until they oversold the garage and sent people down the street even though we had a pass for the Renaissance garage.”

Otherwise, I thought the room was nice and clean; bathroom looked like it had recently been updated and was spacious and clean. I thought it was a very nice hotel.”

“The hotel was very nice. It was a bit confusing, though, about which building to go to (2 sep buildings), where to park, etc. When we got there. The parking garage was full, so parking was our first challenge. Then once we found a spot and went to check in, we waited in line for probably 20+ minutes! At check in time it would probably be a good idea to have more than a couple people working! Other than that - everything was nice. Nice room, loved the bed and check out was nice and easy, as we did it from our room via the TV.”

“This hotel is very pretty and the staff is friendly, but they tried to upscale everything, the room we were given was a room with two full sized beds, asked for a room with larger beds, were told none were available unless we wanted to pay more, already had to pay extra $25 a day to park my car. Like I said nice staff but very misleading on the size of the room.”

• We did not know which hotel to check into.

“The hotel was fine for price, it did not seem to be very upscale and the room was small. There are two buildings to the hotel and we were not given instructions as to which one to check into and were made to feel stupid when we went to the wrong one! Not a great way to start your trip!”

• The pool was pretty crowded when we went and there wasn't a lot of room to sit.

“This hotel had excellent service, was very conveniently located and offered a lot of amenities. The fitness center had a lot of equipment, was very clean and the air quality was great. They even had free fruit available for the guests. The breakfast buffet had a large variety of choices and the quality of the food was excellent - it was a little on the expensive side - but was worth it.”

• The bed was extremely comfortable and the linens were wonderfully soft.
• We only experienced one minor problem: the coffee pot electrical outlet did not work. Because of being downtown, some city noise also existed.

“We very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff was friendly and the accommodations were very comfortable. We felt safe in this hotel. We would recommend staying to others.”

• The wait staff in the bar was rude and not helpful. We ask for a menu and then no one returned to take our order.

• The location of this hotel is excellent. It is walking distance to Arch & public transportation.
• We found a belt from a previous occupant in room which meant is wasn't cleaned thoroughly.

“I made this trip to St. Louis with my children. The Arch was within walking distance as were many restaurants. We ate an unauthentic Mexican restaurant named Beso which was way over priced. The food in the hotel was also very pricey. A plus was that the train system was in short walking distance and we felt safe riding it during the day. The beds in our room were comfortable. The hotel is more for business travelers as it seems a bit cold, not warm or welcoming. I enjoyed the workout room.”

• The rooms were quaint.
• The hotel staff was slow, aloof and unhelpful.

“The hotel has a great location and the rooms are nice. Room service took 2 1/2 hours to bring some extra tea bags. The parking was expensive and should be included for guests. The hotel staff was largely unhelpful. The breakfast bar was poor and the waiter slow and unpleasant.”

• I loved the friendly restaurant staff who helped accommodate our child's picky eating habits.
• The hotel room was significantly smaller than I expected and very crowded.

“We had an excellent experience with the Renaissance Grand Hotel. The staff was exceptionally friendly and responded to our needs very quickly. Our request for a crib was filled immediately. The crib was delivered already set up and with linens unlike most other hotels in which we have stayed. The hotel restaurant was wonderful with our daughter's very picky eating and it was nice to have Starbucks right in the lobby! The room was very small and cramped, but that is my only major complaint. The pool was also very crowded with rowdy older kids, but the pool itself was well maintained and well stocked with towels.”

• There was confusion regarding parking, but they made it right.
• Walking back from game, we had to go through a dark tunnel. Not safe!

• Large rooms had one bed, small rooms had two doubles.

• The bathrooms had not been cleaned or stocked properly. Trash and the toilet had an stain.

“I was unimpressed with this four star hotel and would not recommend it. The bathroom was unclean. Trash liner had stains and the toilet had an unknown soiled spot. Only one soap offered. Conditioner bottle had mold in the lid. There are three buildings to this hotel and they are not clearly marked making it difficult to find. There is a fee for parking of $14. Check in employee with strong unidentifiable accent which made her speech incomprehensible. Each floor has a sign stating there is an ice machine on it. One was found after looking on three different floors. The staff was friendly and the lobby was beautiful.”

• The shower was fabulous, the bed was very comfortable.
• The air conditioner was so noisy, it kept waking me up. Awful. I did not get a restful sleep.

“The bar was very nice and the drinks were excellent. Good value. The room was very clean and the bathroom had great lighting. Not enough towels and I asked 3 times. No one brought any. It has a Starbucks in the Lobby. Nice touch. For an early latte, loved that.”
